Daimler Trucks North America LLC: Electrical System › Wiring › Fuses and Circuit Breakers
Daimler Trucks North America LLC reported this defect to federal regulators on Dec 21, 2018 and put the number of vehicles at risk at 40. The repair is free for as long as the recall stands.
The defect
Daimler Trucks North America LLC (DTNA) is recalling certain 2019-2020 Thomas Built Saf-T-Liner C2 buses equipped with an optional auxiliary outlet powered by the ignition and accessory power circuits. An electrical overload on the auxiliary circuit may cause the ignition fuse to open and the engine to shut down.
The risk
An engine shutdown without the ability to restart increases the risk of a crash.
The remedy
DTNA has notified owners, and dealers will modify the wiring to prevent the power port from affecting the ignition circuit, free of charge. DTNA mailed owners an interim letter on February 1, 2019 to notify them of the issue. The recall began on August 27, 2019. Owners may contact Daimler Trucks North America customer service at 1-800-547-0712. DTNA's number for this recall is FL-804.

What this page is, and what to do next
A recall is not an opinion. It is a Part 573 report a manufacturer is required by federal law to file once it decides a defect poses an unreasonable risk to safety, and it commits them to repairing the vehicle at no cost to the owner. The three passages above are the manufacturer’s own wording as published by NHTSA.
This page describes the campaign. It cannot tell you whether one particular car has already been through the shop — that is tracked by VIN, and only the manufacturer knows it. Check yours at nhtsa.gov/recalls or with a franchised dealer, quoting campaign number 18V929000.
