Navistar, Inc.: Fuel System, Diesel
Navistar, Inc. reported this defect to federal regulators on Jun 18, 2018 and put the number of vehicles at risk at 19. The repair is free for as long as the recall stands.
The defect
Navistar, Inc. (Navistar) is recalling certain 2018-2019 International HX and LT trucks equipped with a Cummins ISX engine and a Wabco 37.4 air compressor. The air compressor discharge line may contact the fuel filter inlet and outlet lines (fuel lines) and the heat generated from the air compressor discharge line may cause heat damage to the fuel lines.
The risk
Continued heat damage to the fuel lines could cause the fuel lines to rupture, resulting in a fuel leak and increasing the risk of a fire.
The remedy
Navistar will notify owners, and dealers will replace the straight fitting on the air compressor discharge line and the discharge line with a 45-degree fitting and a redesigned discharge line, free of charge. The recall began on July 20, 2018. Owners may contact Navistar customer service at 1-800-448-7825. Navistar's number for this recall is 18511.

What this page is, and what to do next
A recall is not an opinion. It is a Part 573 report a manufacturer is required by federal law to file once it decides a defect poses an unreasonable risk to safety, and it commits them to repairing the vehicle at no cost to the owner. The three passages above are the manufacturer’s own wording as published by NHTSA.
This page describes the campaign. It cannot tell you whether one particular car has already been through the shop — that is tracked by VIN, and only the manufacturer knows it. Check yours at nhtsa.gov/recalls or with a franchised dealer, quoting campaign number 18V412000.
