Honda (American Honda Motor Co.): Fuel System, Gasoline › Storage › Tank Assembly
Honda (American Honda Motor Co.) reported this defect to federal regulators on Dec 13, 2017 and put the number of vehicles at risk at 20. The repair is free for as long as the recall stands.
The defect
Honda (American Honda Motor Co.) is recalling certain 2017 Honda VT1300CX Fury motorcycles and 2010 and 2016 Honda VT1300CX Fury motorcycles that received a replacement fuel tank. The fuel tank may be missing welds around the mounting bracket.
The risk
If the welds are missing, the mounting bracket can separate from the tank, allowing fuel to leak and increasing the risk of a fire in the presence of an ignition source.
The remedy
Honda will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the fuel tank welds and, as necessary, replace the fuel tank, free of charge. The recall began December 14, 2017. Owners may contact Honda customer service at 1-888-234-2138.

What this page is, and what to do next
A recall is not an opinion. It is a Part 573 report a manufacturer is required by federal law to file once it decides a defect poses an unreasonable risk to safety, and it commits them to repairing the vehicle at no cost to the owner. The three passages above are the manufacturer’s own wording as published by NHTSA.
This page describes the campaign. It cannot tell you whether one particular car has already been through the shop — that is tracked by VIN, and only the manufacturer knows it. Check yours at nhtsa.gov/recalls or with a franchised dealer, quoting campaign number 17V805000.
