Forest River, Inc.: Fuel System, Diesel
Forest River, Inc. reported this defect to federal regulators on Dec 6, 2017 and put the number of vehicles at risk at 810. The repair is free for as long as the recall stands.
The defect
Forest River, Inc. (Forest River) is recalling certain 2017 Starcraft Bus Prodigy, Prodigy LP, and Quest school buses. The screws used to secure the floor in these buses may be too long and can damage the fuel lines underneath.
The risk
If the fuel lines are damaged from the screws that are too long, fuel may leak and cause an engine stall, increasing the risk of a crash. Additionally, the leaking fuel may increase the risk of a fire.
The remedy
Forest River has notified owners, and dealers will inspect the fuel lines, replacing them as necessary, and will install shorter length screws to secure the floor, free of charge. The recall began on December 14, 2017. Owners may contact Starcraft customer service at 1-800-348-7440. Forest River's number for this recall is 05-0592.

What this page is, and what to do next
A recall is not an opinion. It is a Part 573 report a manufacturer is required by federal law to file once it decides a defect poses an unreasonable risk to safety, and it commits them to repairing the vehicle at no cost to the owner. The three passages above are the manufacturer’s own wording as published by NHTSA.
This page describes the campaign. It cannot tell you whether one particular car has already been through the shop — that is tracked by VIN, and only the manufacturer knows it. Check yours at nhtsa.gov/recalls or with a franchised dealer, quoting campaign number 17V780000.
