Cheetah Chassis Corporation: Service Brakes, Air › Supply › Quick Release Valve
Cheetah Chassis Corporation reported this defect to federal regulators on Oct 5, 2017 and put the number of vehicles at risk at 508. The repair is free for as long as the recall stands.
The defect
Cheetah Chassis Corporation (Cheetah) is recalling certain 2017-2018 Bridgemaster, 2017 Extendable and 2017-2018 Maximizer, Tank, Gooseneck, and Heavy Duty trailer chassis. The air brake diaphragm on these vehicles may degrade and allow the brake system air to leak from the quick release valve causing the emergency brakes to engage.
The risk
Partial or full application of the emergency brakes can cause the wheel-end to overheat or a drag slowing or stopping the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash.
The remedy
Cheetah will notify owners, and service centers will install heavy duty diaphragms in the quick release valves, free of charge. The recall began on November 20, 2017. Owners may contact Cheetah customer service at 1-704-436-2590.

A recall is not an opinion. It is a Part 573 report a manufacturer is required by federal law to file once it decides a defect poses an unreasonable risk to safety, and it commits them to repairing the vehicle at no cost to the owner. The three passages above are the manufacturer’s own wording as published by NHTSA.
This page describes the campaign. It cannot tell you whether one particular car has already been through the shop — that is tracked by VIN, and only the manufacturer knows it. Check yours at nhtsa.gov/recalls or with a franchised dealer, quoting campaign number 17V630000.
