Terex South Dakota, Inc.: Equipment
Terex South Dakota, Inc. reported this defect to federal regulators on May 15, 2017 and put the number of vehicles at risk at 58. The repair is free for as long as the recall stands.
The defect
Terex South Dakota (TSD) is recalling certain 2007-2016 vehicles equipped with Terex C4000, FC, HR, HRX, SCM, TC, TCX, TL, TPL, and XT aerial devices and digger derricks used for utility line work. In the event of a short circuit of a tool plugged into the onboard electrical socket, the GFPE breaker may not trip at the proper current before the user receives a shock.
The risk
Without proper protection against electrical shock, the user has a greater risk of injury.
The remedy
TSD will notify owners, and dealers will replace the breakers with GFCI breakers that will trip at a lower current, free of charge. The recall began on June 27, 2017. Owners may contact TSD Customer Service Department at 1-800-982-8975. TSD's number for this recall is SN658.

A recall is not an opinion. It is a Part 573 report a manufacturer is required by federal law to file once it decides a defect poses an unreasonable risk to safety, and it commits them to repairing the vehicle at no cost to the owner. The three passages above are the manufacturer’s own wording as published by NHTSA.
This page describes the campaign. It cannot tell you whether one particular car has already been through the shop — that is tracked by VIN, and only the manufacturer knows it. Check yours at nhtsa.gov/recalls or with a franchised dealer, quoting campaign number 17V320000.
