Jim Reed's Truck Sales, Inc. reported this defect to federal regulators on May 4, 2017 and put the number of vehicles at risk at 18. The repair is free for as long as the recall stands.
The defect
Jim Reed's Truck Sales, Inc. (JRTS) is recalling certain 2014-2016 Hino 338 trucks modified by JRTS. The affected trucks have Certification labels that do not identify JRTS as the final stage manufacturer. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of 49 CFR Part 567, "Certification."
The risk
Incorrect final stage manufacturer information on the certification label may hinder owner awareness of safety recalls, increasing the risk of a fire or a crash.
The remedy
JRTS will notify owners and send them a new certification label with the correct final stage manufacturer information, free of charge. The recall began on June 13, 2017. Owners may contact Jim Reed's Truck Sales' customer service at 1-914-737-3990.

What this page is, and what to do next
A recall is not an opinion. It is a Part 573 report a manufacturer is required by federal law to file once it decides a defect poses an unreasonable risk to safety, and it commits them to repairing the vehicle at no cost to the owner. The three passages above are the manufacturer’s own wording as published by NHTSA.
This page describes the campaign. It cannot tell you whether one particular car has already been through the shop — that is tracked by VIN, and only the manufacturer knows it. Check yours at nhtsa.gov/recalls or with a franchised dealer, quoting campaign number 17V304000.
