NHTSA campaign 17V197000 · Part 573 safety recall report

REV Recreation Group: Equipment › Other › Labels

REV Recreation Group reported this defect to federal regulators on Mar 21, 2017 and put the number of vehicles at risk at 42. The repair is free for as long as the recall stands.

The defect

REV Recreation Group (REV) is recalling certain 2017 Fleetwood Bounder and Holiday Rambler Vacationer vehicles. These vehicles are equipped with Federal Placards that incorrectly list a tire size of 235/80R 22.5 G when the actual tire size is 255/80R 22.5 G. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of 49 CFR Part 567, "Certification."

The risk

If the operator were to replace the tires according to the information on the Federal Placard, it could increase the risk of a crash.

The remedy

REV will notify owners, and dealers will install a corrected label, free of charge. The recall began on April 12, 2017. Owners may contact REV customer service at 1-800-509-3417. REV's number for this recall is 170317REV.

What this page is, and what to do next

A recall is not an opinion. It is a Part 573 report a manufacturer is required by federal law to file once it decides a defect poses an unreasonable risk to safety, and it commits them to repairing the vehicle at no cost to the owner. The three passages above are the manufacturer’s own wording as published by NHTSA.

This page describes the campaign. It cannot tell you whether one particular car has already been through the shop — that is tracked by VIN, and only the manufacturer knows it. Check yours at nhtsa.gov/recalls or with a franchised dealer, quoting campaign number 17V197000.
