Heartland Recreational Vehicles, LLC: Equipment › Recreational Vehicle/Trailer › Lpg Systems › Lines and Fittings

Heartland Recreational Vehicles, LLC reported this defect to federal regulators on Feb 10, 2017 and put the number of vehicles at risk at 603. The repair is free for as long as the recall stands.

The defect

Heartland Recreational Vehicles, LLC (Heartland) is recalling certain 2017 Cyclone and Road Warrior toy haulers equipped with a Furrion cook top. The liquid propane (LP) hose that is connected to the cook top may be angled incorrectly, causing excessive pressure on the hose fitting and the gas valve, potentially resulting in a propane leak.

The risk

A propane leak in the presence of an ignition source can increase the risk of a fire.

The remedy

Heartland will notify owners, and dealers will install a flexible gas connector from the cook top to the LP hose, free of charge. The recall began on March 6, 2017. Owners may contact Heartland customer service at 1-877-262-8032. Heartland's number for this recall is 99.01.33.

What this page is, and what to do next

A recall is not an opinion. It is a Part 573 report a manufacturer is required by federal law to file once it decides a defect poses an unreasonable risk to safety, and it commits them to repairing the vehicle at no cost to the owner. The three passages above are the manufacturer’s own wording as published by NHTSA.

This page describes the campaign. It cannot tell you whether one particular car has already been through the shop — that is tracked by VIN, and only the manufacturer knows it. Check yours at nhtsa.gov/recalls or with a franchised dealer, quoting campaign number 17V090000.
