Livin' Lite Recreational Vehicles: Equipment › Recreational Vehicle/Trailer › Lpg Systems › Lines and Fittings

Livin' Lite Recreational Vehicles reported this defect to federal regulators on Dec 1, 2016 and put the number of vehicles at risk at 86. The repair is free for as long as the recall stands.

The defect

Livin' Lite Recreational Vehicles (Livin' Lite) is recalling certain model year 2017 Camplight and Quick Silver RV Trailers, Toyhaulers, and Truck Campers manufactured May 19, 2016, to November 18, 2016. The affected vehicles have a rubber liquid propane (LP) gas line connecting the range hood and the pilot light, instead of a 12" hard pipe.

The risk

A rubber LP gas line connected to the pilot light can get hot and melt, increasing the risk of a fire.

The remedy

Livin' Lite will notify owners, and dealers will install a 12" copper extension between the range hood and pilot light, free of charge. The recall began on January 9, 2017. Owners may contact Livin' Lite customer service at 1-866-272-5578.

What this page is, and what to do next

A recall is not an opinion. It is a Part 573 report a manufacturer is required by federal law to file once it decides a defect poses an unreasonable risk to safety, and it commits them to repairing the vehicle at no cost to the owner. The three passages above are the manufacturer’s own wording as published by NHTSA.

This page describes the campaign. It cannot tell you whether one particular car has already been through the shop — that is tracked by VIN, and only the manufacturer knows it. Check yours at nhtsa.gov/recalls or with a franchised dealer, quoting campaign number 16V865000.
