Forest River, Inc.: Equipment › Recreational Vehicle/Trailer › Lpg Systems

Forest River, Inc. reported this defect to federal regulators on Oct 24, 2016 and put the number of vehicles at risk at 156. The repair is free for as long as the recall stands.

The defect

Forest River, Inc. (Forest River) is recalling certain model year 2017 Dynamax Isata motorhomes, models ISC24FWM, ISC24RWM, ISC35DBD and ISC36DSD, manufactured May 19, 2016, to October 19, 2016. The affected vehicles may be missing a securing cable tie on the rubber grommet for the copper liquid propane (L.P.) gas line, allowing liquid propane to enter the cabin.

The risk

If the rubber grommet is not properly sealed and secured, there is an increased risk of propane leak and a fire.

The remedy

Forest River will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the grommet and install a cable tie, as necessary, free of charge. The recall began on November 21, 2016. Owners may contact Forest River customer service at 1-574-262-3474 extension 203. Forest River's number for this recall is 55-10162016-0257.

What this page is, and what to do next

A recall is not an opinion. It is a Part 573 report a manufacturer is required by federal law to file once it decides a defect poses an unreasonable risk to safety, and it commits them to repairing the vehicle at no cost to the owner. The three passages above are the manufacturer’s own wording as published by NHTSA.

This page describes the campaign. It cannot tell you whether one particular car has already been through the shop — that is tracked by VIN, and only the manufacturer knows it. Check yours at nhtsa.gov/recalls or with a franchised dealer, quoting campaign number 16V774000.
