E-One Incorporated: Equipment
E-One Incorporated reported this defect to federal regulators on Oct 13, 2016 and put the number of vehicles at risk at 17. The repair is free for as long as the recall stands.
The defect
E-One Incorporated (E-One) is recalling certain model year 2012-2016 E-One Pumpers manufactured January 1, 2012, to June 23, 2016 and built on a Ford F-550 chassis modified to be equipped with driveline-driven ("split-shaft") pumps. The bearings and drive shafts of the pumps may loosen due to high vibration levels, such as those created when the vehicle is driven above 65 MPH.
The risk
If the bearings or drive shafts loosen, parts may fall from the vehicle becoming road hazards, the pump may not function to assist in fire fighting or there may be a loss of vehicle control, increasing the risk of a crash.
The remedy
E-One will notify owners, and Ford dealers will recalibrate the vehicle to be speed limited to 65 MPH, free of charge. The recall began on November 29, 2016. Owners may contact E-One customer service at 1-352-861-3612.

What this page is, and what to do next
A recall is not an opinion. It is a Part 573 report a manufacturer is required by federal law to file once it decides a defect poses an unreasonable risk to safety, and it commits them to repairing the vehicle at no cost to the owner. The three passages above are the manufacturer’s own wording as published by NHTSA.
This page describes the campaign. It cannot tell you whether one particular car has already been through the shop — that is tracked by VIN, and only the manufacturer knows it. Check yours at nhtsa.gov/recalls or with a franchised dealer, quoting campaign number 16V737000.
