Daimler Trucks North America LLC: Fuel System, Other › Storage › Tank Assembly › Filling/Charging
Daimler Trucks North America LLC reported this defect to federal regulators on Sep 13, 2016 and put the number of vehicles at risk at 114. The repair is free for as long as the recall stands.
The defect
Daimler Trucks North America, LLC (DTNA) is recalling certain model year 2017 Thomas Built Buses Saf-T-Liner C2 school buses manufactured April 30, 2016, to July 29, 2016 and equipped with a compressed natural gas (CNG) engine. During a fast fuel fill, an internal seal on a filling valve may dislodge allowing fuel to leak after the tank has been filled.
The risk
A fuel leak in the presence of an ignition source may increase the risk of a fire.
The remedy
DTNA has notified all affected owners and all of the vehicles have been remedied, therefore owner notification notices will not be issued for this campaign. Owners may contact DTNA customer service at 1-800-547-0712. DTNA's number for this recall is FL-720.

What this page is, and what to do next
A recall is not an opinion. It is a Part 573 report a manufacturer is required by federal law to file once it decides a defect poses an unreasonable risk to safety, and it commits them to repairing the vehicle at no cost to the owner. The three passages above are the manufacturer’s own wording as published by NHTSA.
This page describes the campaign. It cannot tell you whether one particular car has already been through the shop — that is tracked by VIN, and only the manufacturer knows it. Check yours at nhtsa.gov/recalls or with a franchised dealer, quoting campaign number 16V657000.
