Daimler Trucks North America LLC: Equipment › Other › Labels
Daimler Trucks North America LLC reported this defect to federal regulators on May 19, 2016 and put the number of vehicles at risk at 727. The repair is free for as long as the recall stands.
The defect
Daimler Trucks North America LLC (DTNA) is recalling certain model year 2015-2016 FCCC XCR chassis manufactured May 12, 2014, to December 10, 2015. The incomplete vehicle document (IVD) labels incorrectly list the tire pressures as 130 psi in the steer and tag axle positions rather than the correct rating of 120psi.
The risk
If the tire is inflated to the incorrect PSI on the label, the rims may suddenly fail due to being over pressurized, increasing the risk of a crash.
The remedy
DTNA notified the only purchaser of the affected chassis and provided them with corrected IVD labels, free of charge. DTNA will not notify the motorhome owners directly. Owners may contact DTNA customer service at 1-800-547-0712. DTNA's number for this recall is FL-710.

What this page is, and what to do next
A recall is not an opinion. It is a Part 573 report a manufacturer is required by federal law to file once it decides a defect poses an unreasonable risk to safety, and it commits them to repairing the vehicle at no cost to the owner. The three passages above are the manufacturer’s own wording as published by NHTSA.
This page describes the campaign. It cannot tell you whether one particular car has already been through the shop — that is tracked by VIN, and only the manufacturer knows it. Check yours at nhtsa.gov/recalls or with a franchised dealer, quoting campaign number 16V327000.
