Jayco, Inc.: Exterior Lighting › Turn Signal
Jayco, Inc. reported this defect to federal regulators on Apr 7, 2016 and put the number of vehicles at risk at 43. The repair is free for as long as the recall stands.
The defect
Jayco, Inc. (Jayco) is recalling certain model year 2016 Octane travel trailers, model 222(V2), manufactured March 23, 2016, to March 30, 2016. The turn signal wires on the affected trailers may be crossed, activating the opposite turn signal of the one intended. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 108, "Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Assoc. Equipment."
The risk
Crossed turn signal wires may confuse other drivers by incorrectly indicating the intended direction and thereby increasing the risk of a crash.
The remedy
Jayco will notify owners, and dealers will inspect and repair the wiring, as necessary, free of charge. The recall began on April 25, 2016. Owners may contact Jayco customer service at 1-800-283-8267. Jayco's number for this recall is 9901293.

What this page is, and what to do next
A recall is not an opinion. It is a Part 573 report a manufacturer is required by federal law to file once it decides a defect poses an unreasonable risk to safety, and it commits them to repairing the vehicle at no cost to the owner. The three passages above are the manufacturer’s own wording as published by NHTSA.
This page describes the campaign. It cannot tell you whether one particular car has already been through the shop — that is tracked by VIN, and only the manufacturer knows it. Check yours at nhtsa.gov/recalls or with a franchised dealer, quoting campaign number 16V195000.
