Motor Coach Industries: Power Train › Axle Assembly
Motor Coach Industries reported this defect to federal regulators on Dec 14, 2015 and put the number of vehicles at risk at 32. The repair is free for as long as the recall stands.
The defect
Motor Coach Industries (MCI) is recalling certain model year 2015 D4500 motor coaches manufactured January 23, 2015, to May 1, 2015, and D4505 motor coaches manufactured May 12, 2015, to May 13, 2015. The affected coaches have drive axles that may be missing welds on the hanger brackets, allowing the hanger bracket to separate from the axle housing.
The risk
If the bracket separates from the axle housing, vehicle control may be affected, increasing the risk of a crash.
The remedy
MCI will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the coaches and replace the affected axles, free of charge. The recall began on January 4, 2016. Owners may contact MCI customer service at 1-800-241-2947. MCI's number for this recall is SB 429.

What this page is, and what to do next
A recall is not an opinion. It is a Part 573 report a manufacturer is required by federal law to file once it decides a defect poses an unreasonable risk to safety, and it commits them to repairing the vehicle at no cost to the owner. The three passages above are the manufacturer’s own wording as published by NHTSA.
This page describes the campaign. It cannot tell you whether one particular car has already been through the shop — that is tracked by VIN, and only the manufacturer knows it. Check yours at nhtsa.gov/recalls or with a franchised dealer, quoting campaign number 15V837000.
