Transportation Collaborative, Inc.: Power Train › Axle Assembly
Transportation Collaborative, Inc. reported this defect to federal regulators on Jun 17, 2015 and put the number of vehicles at risk at 46. The repair is free for as long as the recall stands.
The defect
Transportation Collaborative, Inc. (TCI) is recalling certain model year 2012-2015 Trans Tech Bus Student Safety Transporter school buses manufactured December 1, 2012, to April 23, 2015. The affected vehicles were built to accommodate 35 children or 23 adults. However, when the bus is loaded to this capacity, the load may exceed the rated capacity of the rear axle and tires.
The risk
If the vehicle is loaded to the listed capacity, the rear axle or tires may fail, increasing the risk of a crash.
The remedy
TCI will notify owners, and dealers will remove two seats, and install a corrected capacity label, free of charge. The recall began on July 1, 2015. Owners may contact TCI customer service at 1-845-988-0419.

What this page is, and what to do next
A recall is not an opinion. It is a Part 573 report a manufacturer is required by federal law to file once it decides a defect poses an unreasonable risk to safety, and it commits them to repairing the vehicle at no cost to the owner. The three passages above are the manufacturer’s own wording as published by NHTSA.
This page describes the campaign. It cannot tell you whether one particular car has already been through the shop — that is tracked by VIN, and only the manufacturer knows it. Check yours at nhtsa.gov/recalls or with a franchised dealer, quoting campaign number 15V384000.
