NHTSA campaign 15V377000 · Part 573 safety recall report

EverGreen Recreational Vehicles, LLC: Equipment › Recreational Vehicle/Trailer

EverGreen Recreational Vehicles, LLC reported this defect to federal regulators on Jun 16, 2015 and put the number of vehicles at risk at 937. The repair is free for as long as the recall stands.

The defect

EverGreen Recreational Vehicles, LLC (EverGreen) is recalling certain model year 2014-2016 Lifestyle, Bay Hill, Alpha Gold and Tesla fifth wheel recreational trailers manufactured March 11, 2014, to January 23, 2015. In the affected vehicles, a rivet for the quad entry steps may shear and fail, causing the steps to give when being used.

The risk

If the rivet shears under occupant load, the steps may give and the occupant may fall, increasing the risk of personal injury.

The remedy

Evergreen will notify owners, and dealers will remove the rivets and the step sections will be bolted together, free of charge. The recall is expected to begin August 7, 2015. Owners may contact EverGreen customer service at 1-574-825-4298.

What this page is, and what to do next

A recall is not an opinion. It is a Part 573 report a manufacturer is required by federal law to file once it decides a defect poses an unreasonable risk to safety, and it commits them to repairing the vehicle at no cost to the owner. The three passages above are the manufacturer’s own wording as published by NHTSA.

This page describes the campaign. It cannot tell you whether one particular car has already been through the shop — that is tracked by VIN, and only the manufacturer knows it. Check yours at nhtsa.gov/recalls or with a franchised dealer, quoting campaign number 15V377000.
