Gillig LLC: Exterior Lighting › Tail Lights
Gillig LLC reported this defect to federal regulators on May 19, 2015 and put the number of vehicles at risk at 263. The repair is free for as long as the recall stands.
The defect
Gillig LLC (Gillig) is recalling certain model year 2014-2015 Low Floor vehicles manufactured September 1, 2014, to April 30, 2015. The affected vehicles may have a taillight bracket that is inadequately bonded to the bus body.
The risk
If the bracket is inadequately bonded, it may detach from the body, preventing the stop and turn lights from being visible to following vehicles, increasing the risk of a crash.
The remedy
Gillig has notified owners. Gillig will inspect the taillight brackets to verify that they are properly bonded to the body. Brackets that are not properly bonded will be removed and properly bonded to the vehicle, free of charge. The recall began on June 12, 2015. Owners may contact Gillig customer service at 1-800-735-1500.

What this page is, and what to do next
A recall is not an opinion. It is a Part 573 report a manufacturer is required by federal law to file once it decides a defect poses an unreasonable risk to safety, and it commits them to repairing the vehicle at no cost to the owner. The three passages above are the manufacturer’s own wording as published by NHTSA.
This page describes the campaign. It cannot tell you whether one particular car has already been through the shop — that is tracked by VIN, and only the manufacturer knows it. Check yours at nhtsa.gov/recalls or with a franchised dealer, quoting campaign number 15V295000.
