Capacity of Texas: Interior Lighting
Capacity of Texas reported this defect to federal regulators on Apr 24, 2015 and put the number of vehicles at risk at 337. The repair is free for as long as the recall stands.
The defect
Capacity of Texas (Capacity) is recalling certain model year 2013-2015 ISB13 Yard Tractors manufactured from September 1, 2013, through April 22, 2015. The affected vehicles were manufactured without a dimmer switch to control the backlighting illumination on the dashboard. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 101, "Controls and Displays."
The risk
If the driver can not adjust the amount of dash illumination, the driver may not be able to easily see the dash controls. This distraction may increase the risk of a crash.
The remedy
Capacity will notify owners, and fleets will install a switch with dimming capability, free of charge. The recall began on May 27, 2015. Owners may contact Capacity customer service at 1-800-323-0135.

What this page is, and what to do next
A recall is not an opinion. It is a Part 573 report a manufacturer is required by federal law to file once it decides a defect poses an unreasonable risk to safety, and it commits them to repairing the vehicle at no cost to the owner. The three passages above are the manufacturer’s own wording as published by NHTSA.
This page describes the campaign. It cannot tell you whether one particular car has already been through the shop — that is tracked by VIN, and only the manufacturer knows it. Check yours at nhtsa.gov/recalls or with a franchised dealer, quoting campaign number 15V243000.
