Prevost Cars, Inc.: Seat Belts
Prevost Cars, Inc. reported this defect to federal regulators on Feb 24, 2015 and put the number of vehicles at risk at 38. The repair is free for as long as the recall stands.
The defect
Prevost Cars, Inc. (Prevost) is recalling certain model year 2014 X3-45 commuter coaches manufactured October 1, 2014, to January 29, 2015, and equipped with Recaro-brand driver seats with a two-point seat belt and inward-facing retractor configuration. These seats have a seat belt retractor that may not lock as intended when the occupant has the seat in the full back position.
The risk
If the seat belt retractor does not lock, the seat occupant may not be properly restrained during a vehicle crash, increasing their risk of personal injury.
The remedy
Prevost will notify owners, and dealers will inspect and reconfigure the seat belt to provide the needed clearance, free of charge. The recall began in March 2015. Owners may contact Prevost customer service at 1-877-773-8678. Prevost's number for this recall is SR15-308.

What this page is, and what to do next
A recall is not an opinion. It is a Part 573 report a manufacturer is required by federal law to file once it decides a defect poses an unreasonable risk to safety, and it commits them to repairing the vehicle at no cost to the owner. The three passages above are the manufacturer’s own wording as published by NHTSA.
This page describes the campaign. It cannot tell you whether one particular car has already been through the shop — that is tracked by VIN, and only the manufacturer knows it. Check yours at nhtsa.gov/recalls or with a franchised dealer, quoting campaign number 15V107000.
