Grech Motors, L.L.C: Electrical System › 12v/24v/48v Battery
Grech Motors, L.L.C reported this defect to federal regulators on Jan 30, 2015 and put the number of vehicles at risk at 118. The repair is free for as long as the recall stands.
The defect
Grech Motors L.L.C. (Grech) is recalling certain model year 2014-2015 G40M2 shuttle buses built on Freightliner M2 truck chassis, manufactured August 26, 2013, to December 10, 2014. In the affected vehicles, the batteries may not be installed in the correct position which could allow the positive battery terminals and clamps to contact the grounded battery retention bracket.
The risk
If the positive battery terminals contact the retention bracket, an electrical short would result, increasing the risk of a fire.
The remedy
Grech will notify owners, and dealers will correct the battery installation, free of charge. The recall began in March 17, 2015. Owners may contact Grech customer service at 1-855-994-7324.

What this page is, and what to do next
A recall is not an opinion. It is a Part 573 report a manufacturer is required by federal law to file once it decides a defect poses an unreasonable risk to safety, and it commits them to repairing the vehicle at no cost to the owner. The three passages above are the manufacturer’s own wording as published by NHTSA.
This page describes the campaign. It cannot tell you whether one particular car has already been through the shop — that is tracked by VIN, and only the manufacturer knows it. Check yours at nhtsa.gov/recalls or with a franchised dealer, quoting campaign number 15V048000.
