NHTSA campaign 14V687000 · Part 573 safety recall report

Eldorado National- Kansas: Suspension

Eldorado National- Kansas reported this defect to federal regulators on Oct 31, 2014 and put the number of vehicles at risk at 2. The repair is free for as long as the recall stands.

The defect

Eldorado National-Kansas (Eldorado) is recalling certain model year 2013 Aero Elite vehicles manufactured May 6, 2013, to June 6, 2013. The affected vehicles are equipped with LiquidSpring-brand aftermarket suspension kits. The mounting bracket that attaches the suspension fluid tank to the frame may fail, allowing the fluid tank to separate from the vehicle.

The risk

If the suspension fluid tank mount fractures and the tank separates from the chassis, the tank may become a road hazard, increasing the risk of a crash.

The remedy

Eldorado has notified owners, and LiquidSpring will install a re-designed bracket, free of charge. The recall began in November 2014. Owners may contact Eldorado customer service at 1-800-850-1287 or LiquidSpring at 1-765-474-7816.

What this page is, and what to do next

A recall is not an opinion. It is a Part 573 report a manufacturer is required by federal law to file once it decides a defect poses an unreasonable risk to safety, and it commits them to repairing the vehicle at no cost to the owner. The three passages above are the manufacturer’s own wording as published by NHTSA.

This page describes the campaign. It cannot tell you whether one particular car has already been through the shop — that is tracked by VIN, and only the manufacturer knows it. Check yours at nhtsa.gov/recalls or with a franchised dealer, quoting campaign number 14V687000.
