Allied Recreation Group, Inc. reported this defect to federal regulators on Sep 4, 2014 and put the number of vehicles at risk at 7. The repair is free for as long as the recall stands.

The defect

Allied Recreation Group, Inc. (ARG) is recalling certain model year 2015 Monaco Holiday Rambler Alumascape fifth wheel trailers, models 323RL and 343RE, manufactured August 28, 2013, to December 18, 2013. In the affected vehicles, the Federal Certification Label figures related to the front and rear tire type, front and rear tire width, front and rear tire load index letter designation, and front and rear tire pressure ratings, in pounds per square inch (PSI) and in kilopascals (KPA) are incorrect. As such, the vehicles do not conform to Part 567, "Certification."

The risk

Incorrect information on the label may result in improper tire inflation which may contribute to tire failure, increasing the risk of a crash.

The remedy

ARG will notify owners, and dealers will replace the tires with new tires of the same specification as the original tires in case any of them have been improperly inflated, and also replace the Federal Certification labels with corrected information, free of charge. The recall begin on October 1, 2014. Owners may contact ARG customer service at 1-800-509-3417. ARG's number for this recall is 140827ARG.

What this page is, and what to do next

A recall is not an opinion. It is a Part 573 report a manufacturer is required by federal law to file once it decides a defect poses an unreasonable risk to safety, and it commits them to repairing the vehicle at no cost to the owner. The three passages above are the manufacturer’s own wording as published by NHTSA.

This page describes the campaign. It cannot tell you whether one particular car has already been through the shop — that is tracked by VIN, and only the manufacturer knows it. Check yours at nhtsa.gov/recalls or with a franchised dealer, quoting campaign number 14V534000.
