Oshkosh Corporation: Fuel System, Gasoline
Oshkosh Corporation reported this defect to federal regulators on Apr 29, 2014 and put the number of vehicles at risk at 12. The repair is free for as long as the recall stands.
The defect
Oshkosh Corporation (Oshkosh) is recalling certain model year 2011-2012 TPV Homeland Security gasoline vehicles manufactured November 2011 through July 2013. In the affected vehicles, the fuel transfer pump system may over pressurize the primary tank and cause the fuel tank cap to pop off and discharge fuel.
The risk
If the tank discharges gasoline in the presence of an ignition source there is an increased risk of a fire.
The remedy
Oshkosh will notify owners, and dealers will replace the fuel transfer wire harness and correct the installation of the fuel vent lines and electrical connections to prevent the tank from being over-pressurized, free of charge. The recall began on May 29, 2014. Owners may call Oshkosh customer service at 1-800-392-9921.

What this page is, and what to do next
A recall is not an opinion. It is a Part 573 report a manufacturer is required by federal law to file once it decides a defect poses an unreasonable risk to safety, and it commits them to repairing the vehicle at no cost to the owner. The three passages above are the manufacturer’s own wording as published by NHTSA.
This page describes the campaign. It cannot tell you whether one particular car has already been through the shop — that is tracked by VIN, and only the manufacturer knows it. Check yours at nhtsa.gov/recalls or with a franchised dealer, quoting campaign number 14V225000.
