Lion Bus Inc.: Service Brakes, Hydraulic
Lion Bus Inc. reported this defect to federal regulators on May 7, 2013 and put the number of vehicles at risk at 1. The repair is free for as long as the recall stands.
The defect
Lion Bus, Inc. is recalling one model year 2014 360 bus manufactured in December 2012. Due to insufficient distance between the air compressor discharge line and the hydraulic brake line, the lines may chafe against each other resulting in a hole in the brake line.
The risk
A brake line hole could result in a loss of brake fluid. The fluid loss could lengthen the stopping distance required thus increasing the risk of a crash.
The remedy
Lion Bus will notify the owner and an Alliance Bus representative will modify the bus to ensure that there is adequate distance between the air compressor discharge line and the hydraulic brake line. The owner was notified on May 15, 2013.

What this page is, and what to do next
A recall is not an opinion. It is a Part 573 report a manufacturer is required by federal law to file once it decides a defect poses an unreasonable risk to safety, and it commits them to repairing the vehicle at no cost to the owner. The three passages above are the manufacturer’s own wording as published by NHTSA.
This page describes the campaign. It cannot tell you whether one particular car has already been through the shop — that is tracked by VIN, and only the manufacturer knows it. Check yours at nhtsa.gov/recalls or with a franchised dealer, quoting campaign number 13V179000.
