NHTSA campaign 13V002000 · Part 573 safety recall report

Temsa Global Sanayi Ve Ticaret A.S.: Service Brakes, Air

Temsa Global Sanayi Ve Ticaret A.S. reported this defect to federal regulators on Jan 2, 2013 and put the number of vehicles at risk at 38. The repair is free for as long as the recall stands.

The defect

Temsa Global is recalling certain model year 2012-2013 TS30 motorcoaches manufactured from November 2011, through December 2012. When the vehicle is put in the "body lift" position, the brake hoses near the front tires become stretched.

The risk

After repeated use of the "body lift" function, the brake hoses may leak air reducing the braking force of the front brake system, increasing the risk of a crash.

The remedy

Temsa will notify owners, and dealers will install longer front brake hoses, free of charge. The recall will begin February 20, 2013. Owners may contact Temsa at 1-404-602-0151.

What this page is, and what to do next

A recall is not an opinion. It is a Part 573 report a manufacturer is required by federal law to file once it decides a defect poses an unreasonable risk to safety, and it commits them to repairing the vehicle at no cost to the owner. The three passages above are the manufacturer’s own wording as published by NHTSA.

This page describes the campaign. It cannot tell you whether one particular car has already been through the shop — that is tracked by VIN, and only the manufacturer knows it. Check yours at nhtsa.gov/recalls or with a franchised dealer, quoting campaign number 13V002000.
