Thor Industries: Equipment
Thor Industries reported this defect to federal regulators on Jul 25, 2012 and put the number of vehicles at risk at 1,017. The repair is free for as long as the recall stands.
The defect
Dutchmen is recalling certain model year 2010 through 2013 Breckenridge brand travel trailers manufactured from May 26, 2009, through May 2, 2012, and equipped with Atwood Mobile Products (Atwood) furnaces. The furnaces were produced with a defective gas control valve which can stick in the open position.
The risk
If the gas valve sticks in the open position, gas could leak out and, in the presence of an ignition source, result in a fire.
The remedy
Dutchmen will notify owners, and dealers will repair the furnaces, free of charge. The safety recall began on August 17, 2012. Owners may contact Breckenridge Warranty Service Department at 1-800-223-2376.

A recall is not an opinion. It is a Part 573 report a manufacturer is required by federal law to file once it decides a defect poses an unreasonable risk to safety, and it commits them to repairing the vehicle at no cost to the owner. The three passages above are the manufacturer’s own wording as published by NHTSA.
This page describes the campaign. It cannot tell you whether one particular car has already been through the shop — that is tracked by VIN, and only the manufacturer knows it. Check yours at nhtsa.gov/recalls or with a franchised dealer, quoting campaign number 12V382000.
