Paccar Incorporated: Equipment › Other › Labels
Paccar Incorporated reported this defect to federal regulators on Jul 16, 2012 and put the number of vehicles at risk at 21. The repair is free for as long as the recall stands.
The defect
Paccar is recalling certain model year 2013 Kenworth T680 vehicles, manufactured from January 19, 2012, through May 15, 2012. The warning label located on the front of the upper bunk may deform after installation, making the text unreadable.
The risk
If the warning label is not readable, the occupant may be unaware of the safety recommendations and be at an increased risk of personal injury in a crash or sudden vehicle deceleration.
The remedy
Paccar will notify owners, and dealers will replace the warning label in the affected vehicles. The safety recall began on August 20, 2012. Owners may contact Kenworth at 1-425-828-5440.

What this page is, and what to do next
A recall is not an opinion. It is a Part 573 report a manufacturer is required by federal law to file once it decides a defect poses an unreasonable risk to safety, and it commits them to repairing the vehicle at no cost to the owner. The three passages above are the manufacturer’s own wording as published by NHTSA.
This page describes the campaign. It cannot tell you whether one particular car has already been through the shop — that is tracked by VIN, and only the manufacturer knows it. Check yours at nhtsa.gov/recalls or with a franchised dealer, quoting campaign number 12V333000.
