I’ve experienced 3 separate incidents with this truck that resulted in the engine shutting down while in transit as follows: 12/6/2019: engine stalled when accelerating up a hill. Used momentum to pull mostly out of traffic lane. Towed to dealer where crankshaft positioning sensor was replaced under an extended warranty associated with the Ram Ecodiesel emissions related class action settlement. 5/21/2021: engine stalled while towing a boat up hill on the interstate. Had to cross right lane traffic to the shoulder causing traffic behind and to the side to swerve and honk. Just made it to the shoulder. Diesel fuel was leaking. Towed to local diesel shop where high pressure fuel line was replaced at my expense. This would have been replaced under the aforementioned warranty had it been towed to a Ram service center. 5/28/2023: engine stalled while towing a boat on the interstate. Coasted to the right lane and down an exit where I made it to the shoulder. Had it towed to the nearest dealer who reported the engine as seized and in need of replacement. Ram customer service will not discuss any financial assistance in replacing the engine or in the cost of an engine tear down to determine the cause of the failure even though it’s possibly related to the outstanding fuel pump recall or the previously mentioned emissions recall . On 3/31/2023, [XXX](me) was traveling on New Jersey Turnpike. Tickets are issued at the entrance terminal (for CASH commerce) and drivers pay tollbooth attendants at exits by either CASH or EZ PASS (transponders). At Exit 2, on New Jersey Turnpike, a Tollbooth Attendant was absent, 3/31/2023 at 0434. The fee from the entrance terminal, on the New Jersey Turnpike, to exit 2, on the New Jersey Turnpike, is $2.05. I stopped and waited for tollbooth attendant at exit 2 on NJTP. Exhaust Manifold bolt on passenger side broke leaking dangerous exhaust fumes. Took 2015 Ram to Dealership for repair and told they have had to replace several exhaust manifold bolts on 2015 Ram trucks.

Rapid loss of coolant over rear of engine and transmission bell housing. Danger of overheating and fire. The cause of the rapid coolant loss is a common well known problem - turbo coolant pipe! Of course the small tube requires cab off the repair - design flaw!! Additionally, being a known issues and the part that fails is rubber, FCA has not issued a recall or TSB for the replacement of the rubber part with a much more durable siliconized part. My rapid coolant loss occurred on a busy highway and the vehicle required towing - not safe!!!! BIG design flaw and safety issue!!!!!

Both manifolds were leaking exhaust into the cab causing an unsafe environment for the occupants inside the truck. With only 68,700 miles on the truck it was discovered the passenger side exhaust manifold had several broken bolts. It was also discover driver side had cracked exhaust gasket. Now the engine ticks with just 68,700 miles on it. The mechanic is telling me I need a new engine. Truck was purchased new and had regular scheduled maintenance. I think these costly and sufficient repairs should be covered by the manufacturer. Too many failures in this engine to be coincidental.

I was traveling about 70 mph on the highway when i hit the accelerator to go around somebody and when i did the vehicle lost power and went into limp mode. service electronic throttle and check engine light came on. took truck to the dealership and they said it was the tone ring. this problem was already a recall in 2020 for this issue but the recall just make the truck start after this malfunction happens. the tone ring is held on my magnetic components. if this tone ring fails every 50 thousand miles which is a great safety hazard as it causes the vehicle to lose power especially on the highway then this needs to be completely covered by a recall even if the issue isn't resolvable. im quoted $1,700 for the tone ring replacement and the truck has been sitting at the dealership for 2 weeks now because the part is on back order from the fact that this is happening a lot. this needs to be corrected and made right for eco diesel owners.

This engine and many others have catastrophic internal bearing failures. FCA has failed to accept and has voided many engine replacements. Please advise or look into.

My engine light came on. I had the dealer hook it up to their diagnostic machine. It came back that cylinder 4 was misfiring. They looked into it a little farther and my camshaft and Lifter was no good. I bought this vehicle used and there had been no recalls fixed on it. We did have the airbag recall fixed. The Hemi 5.7 engines seem to have this problem and is well-known for it.

I BELIEVE THEY FAILED TO IDENTIFY THIS UNIT. I CALLED FSA AND THEY WOULD NOT RETROACTIVELY INCLUDE THIS IN THE RECALL. THE DEALER STATED THERE IS NO WAY TO DIAGNOSE SUCH AN INTERMITTENT FAILURE. HOWEVER, THESE ARE THE EXACT SYMPTOMS IDENTIFIED IN THE RECALL.

Drove 5 miles and made it to my home then lost steering ability. Screen on dash suddenly said “service power steering”. (Or something like that). I don’t have enough muscles to turn the steering wheel to the hard right to turn. Husband had to turn it up into my driveway. Looked online said check fuses. Just pulled then replaced same fuses then had steering again. Scared to drive truck again. Old power steering recall fixed. (…or says it was.)

My Steering went suddenly stiff making it extermely hard to turn, this resulted to my truck clipping/crashing into the front side of a parked commercial vehicle. My car rolled over and me and my passenger was injured. The truck was inspected and the technicians final conclusion was that the accident took place because the electronic power steering lost communication.

I have no power steering assist. There is a recall on this problem but according to Fiat - Chrysler my truck is not included in the recall. I could understand this if the manufacturing dates were much further apart. The beginning date for the recall is January 22, 2015. My truck manufacturing date is listed as January 2015, with no day given. Seems like there is a chance mine could be affected by the same problem.
