Defect. VEHICLE DESCRIPTION: TRANSIT BUSES WITH DRIVE AXLE EQUIPPED WITH DRUM BRAKES ONLY. THE DESIGN OF THE DIFFERENTIAL CROSS-MEMBER REINFORCEMENT CAN CRACK UNDER CERTAIN APPLICATIONS.
Risk. THIS CONDITION COULD REDUCE THE STEERING CAPABILITY MAKING IT DIFFICULT FOR THE DRIVER TO DO ACCURATE TURNS.
Remedy. DEALERS WILL INSTALL TWO OTHER REINFORCEMENTS TO SOLIDIFY THE CROSS-MEMBER ASSEMBLY.
Defect. THE POSITIVE WIRE CONNECTED TO POST #1 ON THE STARTER SOLENOID COULD CONTACT THE GROUND WIRE ON THE SOLENOID (POST #2) AND CREATE A SHORT CIRCUIT.
Risk. THIS CONDITION CAN CAUSE A SHORT CIRCUIT AND RESULT IN A POSSIBLE FIRE.
Remedy. DEALERS WILL INSPECT AND REPLACE THE CABLES CHANGING THE CABLE POSITION.
