The rear breaks wore off really fast at around 10,000 miles as well as all the tires. It was inspected and the mechanic said that it’s normal for the breaks in these cars to wear off quickly. I never recieved any warning lamps about the breaks needing to be changed.

My 2022 Pathfinder had 34,725 miles on it when I left for the grocery store, on the way while driving on the highway I got an alert on my dash saying "check shift level position", which that seemed normal & fine, and vehicle was still driving normally at this point. That alert then went away as I was driving a moment or two later ( however I did get a photo of it). A very few moments later, I was driving along and the vehicle suddenly shifted into N(eutral)! I pulled over, shifted into park, turned off the car, restarted it, and the check engine light was on. However I shifted the car into D(rive) and proceeded to try to get back home, car seemed to be driving normally, but then no, it began again, the car suddenly shifted into N again as I was driving. I tried pulling over and restarting the vehicle again, but the same thing happened again. I decided to have my passenger take a video of our drive home so that it could be easily shown to the dealer what was happening, that way there would be no question of if the dealer could replicate the issue or not. During our aprox 6:07 minute trip home, it happened another 5 times! Once I was home I found that I had a email from MyNissan saying that there may possibly be an issue with my vehicle emmisions system. My husband has a code reader and he plugged into it and it showed a code of P0742, which is ("torque converter clutch circuit stuck on"). So the next morning 10/01/24 I called my dealership and spoke to service and let them kno

While driving my son to school, traffic began slowing and then accelerating in front of me. I was driving approximately 40 mph when I took my foot off the accelerator to slow down. Before I had a chance to press the brake, the vehicle shifted into neutral on it own without the shift level being touch and a steady Malfunction Indicator Light came on. At this point the traffic began speeding up and I was unable to accelerate until I manually shifted the vehicle back into drive.

The contact stated that while the wife was driving approximately 60 MPH and attempting the stop, the braking system malfunctioned and the vehicle did not stop or reduce speed while the brake pedal was being pressed causing the vehicle to crash into the rear of a second vehicle. During the crash, the collision avoidance system did not activate and the air bag did not deploy. No injuries were reported. A police report was taken at the scene and the vehicle was towed away. The cause of the failure was not yet determined. The local dealer and manufacturer were not yet contacted. The failure mileage was 38,600.

When attempting to put my vehicle in park by pressing the park button on the gear shift, a large red alert popped up on the dash that said "when parked, use emergency brake", and instead of shifting into park, shifted into neutral, where the car then rolled until I applied pressure on the brake. At this time, the car nearly rolled over my young child as it was not expected for the vehicle to roll after being put into park. There were no warning lights or messages prior to this occurring. It was then found that there has been a service bulletin out regarding a shifter issue with this model vehicle. I took the vehicle to a Nissan dealership where I paid $230 for diagnostics, where they confirmed that the issue was directly related to the service bulletin, but that they would not repair the vehicle as my car was out of warranty, even though it is only two years old. They suggested I reach out to Nissan North America Consumer Affairs to request payment outside of a manufacturer warranty, where they opened a case, and ultimately denied any assistance in repairing the defect that has been found to be known about for nearly a decade, yet they keep making vehicles with the same defective issue.

My Toddler was seated (in the car seat that was buckled into ) the second row bucket seat. While driving the vehicle we hit a bump in the road which then launched the back passenger seat up and forward pinning my child between the two seats. His face smashed into the front passenger seat headrest which caused forced injury to his head. The EZ seat button could not have been reached by my child due to them being in a car seat. This has been reported to the manufacture of Nissan. There are no warnings for this feature.

I have had 2 major and one minor incident with my 2022 Pathfinder. I bought it certified preowned Jan 2023 with 21k miles. At 23k miles- end of the same month it was purchased- the vehicle decelerated from 75mph to 35mph on the interstate. The dealership sent a towing truck to pick it up next day and they diagnosed the problem to be a dead battery- the lights on the car remained on all night but if it was the battery then the car would have not even been on. Dealership failed to dig deeper. At 57k miles on May 3rd 2024 after being at the public park for an hour with my daughter the car would not start, warning lights were on the screen such as a malfunction warning. The dealership sent a tow truck and they kept the car for 3 days. We picked it up on a Monday and on Friday May 10th while driving on the interstate, the car decelerated from 75mph to almost nothing, I barely made it off of the exit. They towed it once again and this time we were told the issue was a bad mass airflow sensor. It was replaced and a week later we got another malfunction warning while parked on a sunny day. Currently in arbitration with Nissan. They fail to recognize this is a safety issue and no matter what they say the "cause" is, the same issue keeps happening on the interstate. Nissan is not taking it seriously and they want to give me 3,500 for the "inconvenience" I keep telling them I do not feel safe in this vehicle. I was told the car is outside Lemon Law timeframe. On numerous occasions while cruising at highway speeds ability to accelerate disengages. There is no ability to accelerate and RPMs drop, car loses speed until transmission and acceleration re-engages. When the car does this you are unable to shift gears to attempt to engage and the vehicle still shows as though it is in drive. Vehicle has gone to dealer service numerous times and they are unable to replicate the issue and allege that there are no “codes” in the computer. They are reluctant to dive deeper into the issue despite the fact that this is a safety issue.

The contact was informed that when the front brakes were applied, the rear brakes constantly made contact with the front brakes which caused the rear brakes to wear down, unusually faster. Additionally, the contact stated that the dealer agreed that the failure was due to a manufacturer defect within the design of the vehicle. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and the repair fee for the rear brake replacement was refunded. The failure mileage was approximately 30,517. The VIN was unavailable.

The drivers side heated seat has stopped working. My car is no longer under warranty so I decided to research this. When researching this topic, A LOT of other people have discussed having the same exact issue with the same exact seat. In fact, there are people who have discussed having their heated seat fixed and even THAT stops working. I do not want to spend money on an issue that is a consistent problem, on top of being a issue after being fixed. This issue began happening around 37,000 miles, right after my warranty expired. There were no warning signs. I also worry with it being a faulty product, will the electrical component of it catch fire.

I have tried working with the dealer and Nissan on this issue, with no success. I don't know where else to turn because searching forums there are hundreds of posts from other Pathfinder owners reporting the same defects in their vehicles. I filed a complaint with Nissan Consumer affairs and they insist my issue is simply wear and tear of the vehicle, which is not acceptable. My 2022 Nissan Pathfinder, as well as hundreds others report that their vehicle are requiring new brakes as well as new tires within 20,000 miles of purchasing the vehicle brand new. When my dealer notified me of the issue I questioned them, to which they also recognized it wasn't right and something has been wrong since the re-design of this vehicle. They also said they can't do anything except recommend replacement, it has to be up to Nissan to acknowledge they have something faulty in the design or mechanics that is causing these components to go bad well below manufacturer specs. When contacting Nissan Consumer Affairs I attempted to explain to them that this wasn't normal, these systems should not be replaced within 20,000 miles of a new purchase. They however discounted me and said it was simple wear and tear, that's how it is. I find it hard to believe myself and hundreds of others who have purchased these vehicles should have to pay for these replacements when it's clearly a design or mechanical flaw from Nissan. I know this may not be the right department to go to, but I'm not sure where else to

The seat came foward with my baby who was in his carseat causing him to come foward at a really high speed (since the seat moves foward really fast and with impulse) causing him to hit his head and almost causing me to crash. I had to stop in the middle of where I was driving since my baby was screaming and crying and couldn't breath since he was being squished by the seat. Issue I have is when its raining - any water in the doors is to to drain out the 4 drain holes at the bottom of the doors. On my 2022 Pathfinder it is coming out the 4 drain holes but also coming out from behind the inside door panels and all 4 doors causing the inside liner/insulation to get wet. If you see water drops on the black plastic piece in the kick plates /doorways then you have an issue. Is this normal and will this cause issues with mold and smell? It seems the issue is the weather stripe that runs under the inside door panels to the top of the door is not making proper contact with the door frame in front of the splash guard which there is an opening from the splash guard which is also a bad design which hold lots of water and when traveling at highway speeds 60+ and the splash guard get fully it start to splash and go thru the opening and the weather-strip is is a complete seal and with the wind water is penetrating thru and wetting the inside door panels. In addition the front passenger also starts with a gurgling sound and it seems water and air are getting trapped due to the splash guard design and weather-strip not providing a good enough seal causing it to make a gurgling sound.

My name is [XXX] and I have been a Nissan Consumer for over 10 years, and this is the second time I have had major issues with my breaks. Unfortunately, I did not send an email when the 1st occurrence happened but, in my brand, new Rouge around 2017, my front and back breaks went completely out and had to be replaced at 6 months, but I continued to patronize your company. However, for people at or under 5'2", it is downright dangerous, resulting in striking heads on the dashboard. the NHTSA needs to look into this poorly designed front passenger seat issue before people get hurt. The current controls do not adjust the seat to go up on the front passenger except for the front driver side. Nissan has not done this except for the 2023 models have the front passenger seat adjust. The contact owns a 2022 Nissan Pathfinder. The contact stated while driving at various speeds and depressing the brake pedal, the brake rotors shuddered violently and the vehicle hesitated to respond, causing a 50 ft. stopping distance delay. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who informed the contact that the rotors were corroded; however, the mechanic could not duplicate the failure. The failure persisted. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer, where the same information was provided. The contact stated while driving 55-60 MPH and depressing the brake pedal, the failure reoccurred, and the vehicle nearly crashed into a vehicle that was at a 2ft. distance. The driver assist mode engaged and the steering wheel started shuddering. The contact was able to prevent the vehicle from crashing and continuously applied tremendous pressure to the brake pedal until the vehicle stopped. There was a 100ft. stopping distance delay. The contact was able to continue driving. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer, where it was diagnosed that the brake rotors were extremely worn, and the brake pads and rotors needed to be replaced; however, the parts were on a national backorder. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and a case was filed. The manufacturer later informed the contact that no assistance would be provided. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 4,400.

NHTSA publishes every complaint as the owner wrote it and investigates only a fraction. Spelling, capitalisation and judgement are the filer’s own. What carries weight is repetition: the same component failing the same way across many filings, and whether the manufacturer eventually opened a recall for it.
