INTERMITTENTLY THE BRAKE LIGHTS STAYING LIT AFTER VEHICLE IS TURNED OFF AND KEY IS REMOVED. LIKELY THAT THIS FAILURE ALSO CAUSED THE BRAKE LIGHTS TO REMAIN LIT WHILE DRIVING, RENDERING THE SIGNAL INEFFECTIVE. LIGHTS ACTUALLY STAYED ON TWO OCCASIONS CAUSING A DEAD BATTERY ONCE. LIGHTS WERE NOTICED THE SECOND TIME, AND WIGGLING THE BRAKE PEDAL EXTINGUISHED ALL THREE INDICATORS. DEALER REPLACED THE BRAKE LIGHT SWITCH UNDER WARRANTY. *NLM

CONSUMER STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AND WITHOUT WARNING THE VEHICLE WILL SURGE FORWARD CAUSING A DISTRACTION TO THE CONSUMER. DEALER NOTIFIED

Reading these

NHTSA publishes every complaint as the owner wrote it and investigates only a fraction. Spelling, capitalisation and judgement are the filer’s own. What carries weight is repetition: the same component failing the same way across many filings, and whether the manufacturer eventually opened a recall for it.
