Defect. EQUIPMENT DESCRIPTION: BABYSMART INFANT RESTRAINTS AND BOOSTER SEATS. IF THE INFANT RESTRAINT OR BOOSTER SEAT IS INCORRECTLY POSITIONED OR MOVES SEVERAL INCHES OR MORE FORWARD OF THE SEAT BACK IN THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT OF MERCEDES-BENZ BABYSMART EQUIPPED VEHICLES, IT MAY NOT AUTOMATICALLY DEACTIVATE THE PASSENGER FRONT AIR BAG.

Risk. IN THE EVENT OF A CRASH, A CHILD COULD BE INJURED BY THE AIR BAG.

Remedy. DEALERS WILL REPLACE THESE INFANT RESTRAINTS AND BOOSTER SEATS.
