The infotainment system randomly mutes and unmutes Bluetooth calls; it switches radio stations, skips, and repeats on Spotify and through the settings. It's like the daily turns itself, even though no one touches it. It's startling to have it happen while you're driving, and suddenly, the display starts doing all sorts of crazy changes on its own.

I took my vehicle into RBMC dealership due to the vehicle was experiencing electrical issues and had an open recall / still does. The dealership said I can’t have a dash cam plugged in to a charging port. FCM / LDW / E-Break staying on / throwing error codes = C1001 FSC failure type 97 & U3003 EPB control module power supply failure type 16. They gave me back the car the battery failed the next day and when I called them they banned the VIN of this car to ever return to them. ( the battery was under factory warranty) the issue has only gotten worse and removed my dash cam as they demanded and now I can’t get the car fixed and the issue has gotten worse then taking the car to this dealership less then 30 days ago. They also did not perform the recall when the car was there. The car now has the fallowing codes B13D3 / C1001 / U3003 & possibly more codes because the whole dash is flashing auto light / fcm/ LDW and Break. My [XXX] grandma can’t even take the car in to get fixed the refuse to touch it after it had issues when they gave it back to us and it’s under a extended warranty and was a CPO and has a extended warranty through Mazda. Car only has 31k miles on it and is dangerous for her to drive and myself. Issue has been on going for over a month. I’m getting water in my trunk. Dealership replaced left tail light and both lights on the right. The left is dry and the right is soaked again. At least a gallon of water sitting where spare tire is. I’m seeing many other Mazda owners are having the same issue online. This should be a recall. If the water issue doesn’t get fixed it will lead to rusting and mold. My spare tire already is showing rusting.

There is a known issue with the infotainment system referred to as ghost tough. This causes the system to randomly change stations/songs, etc while the car is in motion. There is also a delamination issue. Mazda issued a recall for 2014-2016 vehicles, however a quick internet search shows that this issue continues to be a problem. This issue can be extremely distracting as the driver attempts to stop the system from changing.

This is in reference to the recall for the rear view camera on 7/14/2023 Manufacturer Recall Number6023G NHTSA Recall Number23V-487 Mazda has still NOT come up with an adequate remedy solution. The dealerships continue to state that they do not have the parts to replace it even though this recall was made 8 months ago. This is unacceptable as the rear view camera is an essential safety mechanism. If Mazda is unable to repair this defect, drivers should be allowed to get it repaired at other more component repair shops and be reimbursed.

The review camera for my vehicle has been unreliable since 2022, if not longer, despite being fully replaced at no cost by the dealer once while still under warrantee. I received a recall notification regarding this issue via mail in September 2023 (recall no. 60232G, NHTSA campaign no. 23V-487), but later learned the recall was initiated two months prior, in mid-July 2023. Since then, my review camera has continued to malfunction with increasing frequency and severity. Some days it doesn't work at all (screen completely black), some days it works for a few seconds at a time but otherwise does not, and some days it works but only poorly (grainy or scrolling video feed with poor visibility). It has now been more than 7 months since this recall was issued, and the status is still "recall incomplete, remedy not yet available." This is an essential safety feature, and the continued lack of action on Mazda's part is unacceptable.

I was driving on the highway in sixth gear and went to down shift to get on to the off ramp and was unable to get it out of sixth gear. I had it towed to the dealer where they were going to charge 4 grand just to tear down the transmission to tell me what might be wrong. So I towed it home and once I was able to get the transmission open, I found the roll pin that connects the shifting shaft to the shift selector plate had worked itself out. If the transmission had been in Neutral, it would have taken less than 20 minutes to fix. But, because it was stuck in gear the whole transmission had to be taken apart.

About a year ago, I noticed multiple warning lights on my car on, including the traction control, ABS, emergency brake, tire pressure indicator, etc. I took my car to the dealership where they diagnosed the problem as related to a faulty speed sensor. I have been reading consumer info on Mazda forums and it appears numerous people are impacted by this, which leads me to wonder if it may warrant assessment for a potential recall. My vehicle had under 35k miles on it when the issue first presented.

My car has a faulty Front Body Power Module, a known issue with these cars, but Mazda keeps saying my model is not in the bracket for recalls, they say it's manufactured a day after the cutoff for the recall, so they won't give me recall repair. My windshield wipers aren't working and it's pouring rain, so this is a HUGE danger. I can't afford the $1500+ repair and don't think it's right this is a known issue for this car model and because mine is supposedly 1 day late I don't qualify for the recall care. They expect me to go to a dealership and pay more money for a diagnostic for something that is an issue, and then I have to call corporate again and they'll "Decide" if they'll cover my car or not.

Touchscreen in vehicle is randomly changing without my touching the screen. This is a well-documented issue in other 2014-2016 Mazdas for which a recall has been previously issued. However, my vehicle also experiences this same issue ("ghost touch") which indicates to me that the problem is not just limited to 2014-2016 vehicles and that my 2018 Mazda should be included in the original recall to replace the defective touchscreen. The random operation of the touchscreen is a safety hazard and should be immediately recalled by Mazda.

This is related to the existing recall with the backup camera. I have intermittently experience, fuzzing of the review camera. I have also experienced total loss of the review camera. In addition, I have had occasionally experienced the panel system not switching over to the rear view camera. The issues appear to be associated with opening and closing the rear hatch and if occurred could sometimes be resolved by turning the car off and back on. The issue was persistent and occurring on a more or less regular basis, but then in the last month it has ceased to occur though I have been opening and closing the hatch on a regular basis... I had been avoiding opening and closing the hatch to avoid losing the camera :( I am concerned that due to the intermittent nature of the failure that when I take the vehicle in under the recall that it will not occur and the dealership will consider the matter closed even if it reoccurs later. Note that in the attached pictures the vehicle is on and in reverse, but the screen is not showing the rear camera view.

I have a 2018 Mazda 3 hatchback 2.5l with a faulty fuel pump. I bought the car 1 year old with 2k mikes on it in 2019 from Jake Sweeney Mazda in Cincinnati ohio. They tell me the issue with power loss and stalling I need a new fuel pump it's failing cost is $1600 to repair. Then I learn a few days later on my own 121,000 2018-2109 Mazda 3 and others were recalled due to a faulty fuel pump with the exact problem I have manufactured by Denso. But I'm told my vin # isn't on the recall. The Denso fuel pump is the brand. However no one at the dealership in Cincinnati or Columbus ohio will tell me what type of fuel pump I have. When I went to the Columbus dealership I believe called Byer Mazda they told me an upgrade was done (which never happened) to my fuel pump. Unless Mazda stole my car and returned it no work was ever done on my fuel pump. Only oil changes. Could an upgrade NOT performed and my Vin was marked as upgraded but wasn't? Why do I have a faulty fuel pump withBthe EXACT symptoms on the EXACT model or EXACT year of my Mazda.. NO ONE at Mazda will tell me what brand fuel pump was manufactured in my car. Neither the dealerships or the 800# I call can saY what fuel pump was manufactured in my car. But they can say what was recalled based on vin#. The car just turned 5 years old and shouldn't need a new fuel pump. Isn't this all a little suspicious especially since they cannot conveniently for them say what manufacturer fuel pump is in my car. The rear brake pads on my 2018 Mazda 3 have worn out prematurely, thinning to as little as 2MM in just 40,000 miles, while my front brakes are still 6MM. Brand new brakes are 10MM. I have heard the exact same complaint from the owner of a 2016 Mazda 3, which is the same generation. In the majority of cars, front brakes are supposed to wear our faster than the rear, so this is definitely a problem. Further evidence of the problem is shown in the fact that my car tends to steer a bit left when pointed in a straight direction, even after getting alignment perfectly done, consistent with the fact that the driver's side rear brake pad has worn out the fastest. In short, the rear brakes seem to be clamping excessively or sticking to the pad when the brake pedal is disengaged, most intensely on the rear driver's side but also on the rear passenger's, thus wearing out brake pads prematurely, reducing fuel efficiency and creating excess environmental waste. This can also be a major safety hazard if the brake pads thin out well before a driver is expecting or if the brakes engage unexpectedly.

To Whom It May Concern: On Sunday October 2, 2022, while driving in very rainy conditions caused by Hurricane Ian, my windshield wipers failed. On Monday, October 3, 2022, I took the car to an independent mechanic at Chesapeake Import Services in Annapolis, MD. The auto mechanic ran a diagnostic test on my vehicle to discover an electric malfunction caused by a defective relay. This is the same issue that is noted as part of the recall that has already been identified here: https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/rcl/2019/RMISC-19V272-0572.pdf. Unfortunately, my VIN does not fall into the recalled VINs. I am requested that you review and expand the recall to include additionally impacted vehicles, and this issue seems to be significantly more widespread that originally noted. I have contacted Mazda, and they are refusing to take responsibility for this faulty part, as it's not part of the original recall. I have documentation from the mechanic regarding the diagnostic, and they are willing to speak on my behalf regarding their findings on my vehicle. Please contact me ASAP to review the issue. I am currently not able to drive my car due to the safety issues involved with having inoperable windshield wipers. Thank you for your attention.

They indicated that the belt tensioner and belt needed replacement, due to oil leaking, from the tensioner, on to the belt. I got concerned because the vehicle only had 11,523, and the warranty ran out a few weeks earlier. I emailed Mazda several times, and asked, due to the low mileage, and close to warranty expiration, for their dealer to inspect the vehicle, and if needed, replace the tensioner and belt, both free of charge to me. THE REAR WIPER STOPPED WORKING DURING A DRIVE IN HEAVY RAIN CONDITIONS, SIMILARLY LIKE IT HAPPEN TO THE SAME VEHICLE FOR THE FRONT WIPERS 6 MONTHS AFTER I GOT THE VEHICLE. I TRIED TO SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT WITH THE DEALER BUT WITH THE PANDEMIC IT WAS NOT POSSIBLE. WHEN I WENT FOR THE ACTUAL APPOINTMENT ON MARCH 2021, THEY TOLD ME THE VEHICLE WAS OUT OF WARRANTY EVEN THOUGH IT IS BARELY 3 YEARS OLD, AND JUST FOR A DIAGNOSTIC THEY WILL CHARGE $160 PLUS TAX. THE POTENTIAL REPAIR WOULD BE EXTRA, RANGING FROM A NEW BCM TO A NEW MOTOR, OR BOTH, SCALING UP TO $450 REPAIR BILL. THE ISSUE IS EXTREMELY SIMILAR TO A SAFETY RECALL THAT THE VEHICLE HAD FOR THE FRONT WIPER WERE THEY HAD TO CHANGE THE RELAYS FREE OF CHARGE. I CONSIDER THIS ALSO A SAFETY ISSUE AS IF YOU'RE DRIVING IN THE HIGHWAY AT 55MPH DURING THE HEAVY RAIN AND YOU ARE NOT ABLE TO SEE AND VEHICLE THAT COMES AT HIGH SPEED, SUCH TRUCK THAT LOOSE THE BRAKES IN A ROUNDABOUT EXIT, THAT POSES A SAFETY RISK TO DRIVERS AND OWNERS OF THIS VEHICLE. I HAVE LEFT MY CAR IN NEUTRAL WITH THE EMERGENCY BRAKE ENGAGED MULTIPLE TIMES SINCE I GOT THE CAR LAST DECEMBER AND AM VERY LUCKY THIS INCIDENT DIDN'T OCCUR WHEN I WASN'T SO CLOSE TO MY CAR. THE CAR SHOULD HAVE A SENSOR OR SAFETY FEATURE OF SOME SORT THAT WOULD REQUIRE THERE TO BE A CERTAIN AMOUNT OF WEIGHT IN THE FRONT SEAT THAT PREVENTED THE EMERGENCY BRAKE FROM DISENGAGING. IN PRIOR CARS WITH A NORMAL EMERGENCY BRAKE THAT IS EITHER ENGAGED ON THE FLOOR OF THE CAR OR PULLED UP MANUALLY NEAR THE GEAR SHIFT THIS WOULD NEVER HAPPEN. MY DRIVER SIDE DOOR WAS OPEN. THIS ISSUE NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED. THIS CAN'T BE THE FIRST TIME THIS HAS HAPPENED AND IT COULD VERY EASILY HAVE DEADLY CONSEQUENCES. I KNOW THAT MANY PEOPLE WILL LEAVE THEIR A/C OR HEAT RUNNING WHILE THERE IS A HUMAN OR DOG IN THE CAR WHEN THEY HAVE TO STEP OUT OF THE CAR TO GET THE MAIL, PUT SOMETHING ELSE IN THE CAR, ETC. I PURCHASED A CAR OVER A YEAR AGO FOR MY SON FROM CRYSTAL AUTO MALL IN GREENBROOK, NJ, A MAZDA 3,2018. THE DAY AFTER I GOT THE CAR THE TIRE PRESSURE LIGHT CAME ON. I TOOK IT IN FOR SERVICE AND THEY ADVISED THAT NOTHING WAS WRONG WITH THE TIRE OR RIM. ON THE WAY HOME FROM THAT SERVICE VISIT THE TIRE LIGHT CAME ON AGAIN. MY SON COMMUTES SO THE CAR IS NOT USED ON A DAILY BASIS, IF IT SITS MORE THAN 2 DAYS THE TIRE IS COMPLETELY FLAT. THIS HAS BEEN A CONSISTENT ISSUE FROM THAT TIME UNTIL NOW. I HAVE TAKEN THE CAR IN FOR SERVICE SEVERAL TIMES FOR THIS SAME ISSUE AND THIS DEALERSHIP HAS BEEN COMPLETELY UNRESPONSIVE AND CARELESS ABOUT MY SITUATION. THEY HAVE NOT FIXED THE PROBLEM AND HAVE NOT ATTEMPTED TO REMEDY THE SITUATION. I AM DEEPLY CONCERNED ABOUT THE SAFETY OF MY SON AND OTHER DRIVERS WHO COULD BE POTENTIALLY HARMED BECAUSE OF NEGLECT BY THIS DEALERSHIP AND THE DEFECT AND OR ISSUE WITH THIS TIRE. YOUR ASSISTANCE IS APPRECIATED.

MY WINDSHIELD WIPERS HAVE JUST STOPPED WORKING WHILE DRIVING IN RAIN. I TRIED TO PULL OVER, TURN OFF MY CAR AND TURN IT BACK ON BUT THEY'RE STILL NOT WORKING. THE WIPER FLUID STILL SPRAYS.

THE WINDOW WIPERS STOP WORKING ALL OF A SUDDEN WHEN ON THE INTERVAL SETTING. I HAVE TO TURN THEM OFF AND THEN ON AGAIN FOR THEM TO BEGIN WORKING ONCE MORE. THIS HAS HAPPENED MULTIPLE TIMES, USUALLY AFTER THE WIPERS HAVE SWIPED ONCE OR TWICE ON THAT SETTING WHILE DRIVING.

NHTSA publishes every complaint as the owner wrote it and investigates only a fraction. Spelling, capitalisation and judgement are the filer’s own. What carries weight is repetition: the same component failing the same way across many filings, and whether the manufacturer eventually opened a recall for it.
