2026 Lucid Air

Defect. Lucid USA, Inc. (Lucid) is recalling certain 2022-2026 Air vehicles. The exterior lighting circuit may have insufficient overcurrent protection, allowing the circuit to overheat.

Risk. An overheated circuit increases the risk of a fire. A loss of the center brake light or front lights can also decrease visibility, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy. Owners are advised to park their vehicle outside and away from structures until the recall remedy is completed. Lucid has released an over-the-air (OTA) software update, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed October 16, 2026. Owners may contact Lucid at 1-888-995-8243. Lucid's number for this recall is SR-26-06-0.

Defect. Lucid USA, Inc. (Lucid) is recalling certain 2024-2026 Air vehicles equipped with Pure Rear-Wheel Drive. Improperly secured bolts may allow the half-shaft to disconnect from the drive unit.

Risk. A disconnected half shaft can result in a loss of drive power, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy. Lucid will remove and install new bolts, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed May 18, 2026. Owners may contact Lucid at 1-888-995-8243. Lucid's number for this recall is SR-26-03-0. This recall is an expansion of previous NHTSA recall number 25V669.

Defect. Lucid USA, Inc. (Lucid) is recalling certain 2022-2026 Air vehicles equipped with an AD02 package and operating a software version from 2.8.0 through 2.8.16. The rearview camera image may not display when the vehicle is placed in reverse. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 111, "Rear Visibility."

Risk. A rearview image that does not display reduces the driver's view behind the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy. Lucid has released an over-the-air (OTA) software update, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed March 4, 2026. Owners may contact Lucid at 1-888-995-8243. Lucid's number for this recall is SR-26-01-0.

Specifically, I need to highlight the following critical issues: Severe Rear Windshield Condensation & Zero Visibility: Every morning, a thick blanket of condensation forms on the inside of the rear windshield. Their is no wiper and rear windows are heated electronically by pressing a rear defroster button on infotainment display. Even after running the rear defroster/heating continuously for 15-20 minutes, the condensation fails to clear. My commute requires entering the highway within five minutes of leaving home, making every morning drive hazardous due to zero rearward visibility. Failure of Brake Lights During Regenerative Braking: During highway driving, strong regenerative braking engages automatically to decelerate the car, yet the brake lights do not illuminate. Following drivers have no indication that the vehicle is rapidly slowing down, creating an extreme risk of a rear-end collision. Displays Remain Active When Locked & Charging: Both the primary instrument cluster and secondary infotainment screens stay fully powered on while the car is charging and completely locked, pointing to persistent electrical/software faults. Digital key malfunction: my digital key feature which I have to use since keyfob battery died. The digital key works but very inconsistent sometimes it take 5 minutes to get access to the car even though phone and app are continuously on. The door latches remain lock and sometimes I have to walk back and forth to be able to get noticed with digita

We were driving Lucid Air fully EV Getting ready to park car in garage The car suddenly accelerated fully to extremely high speed It hit a brick column, brick flower pot and finally the exterior structural wall and the interior wall to land in our living room The car was out of control

The contact owns a 2026 Lucid Air. The contact stated that while driving 75 MPH, the message “Frunk – Hood Ajar” was erroneously displayed, and the system software turned off the power to the vehicle. The vehicle was pulled off the freeway and parked. The contact repeatedly pressed the frunk button until the system realized that the frunk was closed and power was restored to the vehicle. The dealer was not contacted. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 3,000.

The glass roof is cracked across from side to side, originating underneath the clasp above the back right door.

The contact owns a 2026 Lucid Air. The contact stated that the heating system failed to blow hot air as intended. The contact stated that upon engaging the windshield wipers, the windshield wipers failed to engage or disengage automatically as needed, which required the contact to continuously press the windshield wiper button. Additionally, while charging the vehicle at a dealer charging station, the message "Unable to Authenticate - Please Take the Plug out and Plug in Again" was displayed. The contact was unable to disconnect the charging cord after several attempts. Technicians at the dealer attempted to disconnect the charging cord, but the attempts were unsuccessful. The manufacturer was contacted and advised to engage the charging cord emergency release and to reboot the computer software. The contact and the technicians followed the instructions; however, the charging cord could not be released. The vehicle remained parked at the dealer's charging station. The contact stated that the failure had occurred in extremely cold weather. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, and several complaints were filed; however, no further assistance was provided. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 6,062.
