THE INDICATOR NEEDLE ON THE SPEEDOMETER WENT DARK, RESULTING IN A BLACK ON BLACK SPEEDOMETER READING. THE LEXUS DEALER SAYS NEITHER THE LIGHT NOR THE NEEDLE CAN BE REPLACED. PROTOCOL CALLS FOR THE COMPLETE REPLACEMENT OF THE INSTRUMENT BOARD AT A COST OF $3000, ACCORDING TO LEXUS USA. THIS IS NOT A WEAR AND TEAR QUESTION BUT A RESULT OF POOR DESIGN.
