I JUST PURCHASED A 2006 LANDROVER LR3 WITH COLD CLIMATE PACKAGE WHICH INCLUDES A HEATED FRONT WINDSHIELD. MY COMPLAINT IS THAT WHEN DRIVING AT NIGHT ANY HEAD LIGHT FROM ON COMING CARS OR STREET SIGNS IS AUTOMATICALLY BLURRED BY THE VERTICAL ELEMENT LINES THAT ARE IN THE WINDSHIELD. (THERE ARE MANY VERTICAL HEAT ELEMENT LINES ACROSS THE WINDSHIELD). ANY BRIGHT LIGHT VIEWED AT NIGHT TENDS TO BE BLURRED WHICH CAN MAKE DRIVING A BIT MORE DANGEROUS. AS I HAVE SEARCHED, THERE ARE OTHER CAR MAKERS WHO OFFER FRONT HEATED WINDSHIELDS. HAVE THERE BEEN ANY STUDIES REGARDING THIS. *JB

2006 Land Rover LR3 complaints
Owner reports filed with NHTSA about this vehicle, newest first and reproduced as filed. They are unverified accounts: one proves nothing, and a pattern across many is the thing worth reading. Back to the full 2006 record →

Reading these
NHTSA publishes every complaint as the owner wrote it and investigates only a fraction. Spelling, capitalisation and judgement are the filer’s own. What carries weight is repetition: the same component failing the same way across many filings, and whether the manufacturer eventually opened a recall for it.
