For really no reason at all truck locked and would not reopen while simultaneously the seats acces to trunk would not work not even emergency safety release would open either

Gas tank expanded and warped the back seat causing my child’s car seat to not be seated properly. Walking near the car you can smell gasoline very strongly. The check engine light came on briefly and then went away. My car is at the dealership currently as they decide what to do about the issue.

Upon further inspection, the contact became aware that the fuse box had started melting. The contact stated that the fuse was shaken as a temporary repair. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer, where the failure was related to TSB: CS2301; however, the VIN was not included. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 91,000.

Blower motor failure, available for inspection upon request. The failure occurred while driving in muggy conditions, resulting in rapid fogging of the windshield and front side windows. With no functioning airflow, the vehicle’s defrost/defog system was inoperable, and visibility through the windshield became significantly impaired. This required me to reduce speed and open windows in inclement weather to maintain a minimal view of the road, creating additional distraction and exposure to hazardous conditions. The blower motor produces no airflow at any fan speed setting. Failure was confirmed during inspection. No warning lights, messages, or other indicators appeared before, during, or after the failure. This is not an isolated incident. A brief search reveals numerous reports from Kia K5 owners describing the same sudden blower motor failure, indicating a likely systemic defect in the HVAC system design. Kia has not issued a recall, technical service bulletin, or other remedy despite repeated reports from vehicle owners. Kia’s continued inaction in the face of widespread, well-documented blower motor failures represents a disregard for both driver safety and basic manufacturing responsibility. Numerous Kia K5 owners have already been victimized by this defect, and doubtlessly many more will be as long as these vehicles remain on the road unrepaired. Side Curtain and Seat Side Airbags. Unavailable for inspection as Avis Rental Company cleaned the vehicle, removed airbags, and sold at auction as salvage. Side curtain airbags trapped me in the vehicle, and shrapnel from seat side airbag impaled/injured my arm. Combination of Side Curtain and Seat Side airbags, and seat belt, resulted in catastrophic shoulder injuries. Additionally, the gases and powder substance from the airbag deployment caused a severe asthma attack. I was told that the entire interior was covered in a powder substance. Note: It appears that Avis Rental Company rented this vehicle out in violation of Federal Law (FIXING AMERICA'S SURFACE TRANSPORTATION ACT - Public Law 114-94 114th Congress - SEC. 24109. <<NOTE: Raechel and Jacqueline Houck Safe Rental Car Act of 2015.>> RENTAL CAR SAFETY.) as the recall is still showing as unresolved. I had also contact Kia Corporate and Kia Maui to inquire as to whether they had record of the recall being resolved and neither did.

July 5th we were driving heard a loud boom and the car slowed down we pulled over. Then we seen that the seat was lifted up and smelled gas. We had an appointment for Monday July 7 for this recall and wasn’t able to drop off the next on Tuesday July 8. As called that Monday made the dealer aware. Now they been having the car and we are just waiting on the next process. There’s not sure what saying Kia will contact us. I am reaching out to get some type of results. We can’t get a rental car and next week it will be 30 days on the 8th of August. We are looking to resolve this matter with Kia.

My fuel tank has expanded. It has deformed the body beneath the rear seat.

Brake pump failure caused the exhaust camshaft to break on the engine rendering the car inoperable. Engine replacement will cost over 8000 quoted by dealership. Car has check engine lights on the dash. We were advised by the mechanic at the dealership, they have had problems with the k5s with this issue.

While driving the car started to have the sensors for the adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency breaking, blind spot warning, forward collision warning, and rear cross traffic warning all came on. The rpm starting going crazy the car was shaking and struggling to start, the car was shifting weird causing the acceleration to be poor. This all happened while driving if we were on a busy road we would’ve gotten hit the car randomly started breaking and slowing down, this is dangerously and could cause serious injury and damages to the vehicle and others around it. This is a problem a lot of people have been complaining about and need to be fixed it’s not okay or safe to be driving a car with these issues especially when there is no warning it just breaks and shuts down no matter where you are or how fast you may be going.

A silver piller price of trim flew off on the highway in the rear. A lot of Kia k5 owners have experienced this and it could fly off and hit someone on the highway. Transmission is super jerky and can sometimes lose power I’ve also known a lot of people that have similar issues with the kind of transmission in the k5 GT 2022

I have replaced the Engine Splash on my Kia K5 twice and need to get it replaced again. This item is poorly made and it was replaced the two times from Kia at over $500. This seems to be a problem with many of the 2022 Kia K5's. It's almost like it disintegrates when it rains. This is a very expensive repair here are the dates of repairs 02/2023, 04/2024 and the date of the incident that is still needing to be repaired 03/2025.

While driving home recently with my young stepson securely seated in his car seat and my fiancé in the passenger seat, we suddenly heard a terrifying loud bang. Immediately following the explosion, my stepson cried out in pain. At the time, the windows were up and the air conditioning was off, yet we all felt an intense gust of wind inside the vehicle. When I turned around, I saw that my stepson’s seat had been lifted unusually high. We later discovered that either the fuel tank or the fuel pump had exploded.I was shocked and terrified. I had no prior knowledge of any fuel system issues or recalls on this vehicle. After contacting my local Kia dealership, a representative informed me, “Yep, your car has the recall, and it sounds like it swelled up.” Even more troubling is that I never received any recall notifications regarding these issues. The only recall notices I’ve ever received by mail were years ago for a completely different vehicle — my previous Kia Soul, which is no longer in use, as well as the recall for the side curtain airbag.I took it upon myself to do a VIN check and learned that this recall was issued on July 9, 2021, yet I purchased the car from Bev Smith Kia of Fort Pierce on December 30, 2022 — long after the recall had been published. I’m struggling to understand how this vehicle was sold without the required recall repairs being completed or disclosed.I am currently trying to work with Kia to resolve the issue, but I felt it was important to share this w

My 2022 Kia K5 panoramic sunroof spontaneously exploded while the car was parked. There was no impact, no debris, and no warning signs — just a loud explosion and shattered glass everywhere. I previously had a cracked windshield but was unable to afford repairs, as I am unemployed. Now the sunroof has blown out completely, and I believe this could be part of a structural or manufacturing defect. Kia will tow the vehicle to the dealership (Fred Anderson Kia of Raleigh) 06/05 between 8am-10am and I am requesting support under goodwill repair. This was a serious safety hazard and could have injured me, my toddler or others. I’ve since found other reports of Kia sunroofs exploding and believe this needs to be investigated further.

Driving this morning 5/7/2025 at 9:09am and smoke started emitting from the center consol accompanied by a burning smell. My husband noticed the smoke coming from the car charging area, it made a popping/poof sound accompanied with even more smoke. We immediately pulled the charger out of the charger port. My car charger was melted and slightly burned.

While accelerating in response to a green light I made a right hand turn and as I accelerated up to the speed limit of 55 mph I heard and felt a very loud “bang or pop”. I proceeded to pull the car over anticipating a tire blow out or something damaging the rear end of my car and upon a full visual inspection of all tires, undercarriage, under the hood and in the truck and main cabin of the car I was unable to locate and issues and there were zero codes or lights. After careful assessment I proceeded to get myself and child home but on the way the car started stumbling and there was a strong Oder of gas. A check engine Illuminated giving us an error code referencing our solenoid that works in pair with our fuel system. After checking the car and going inside for about two hours, my husband came to me and asked what happened to the backseat as the entire thing had been pulled up and underneath it was a very pressurized and round fuel system. I proceeded to call the car dealership service department and told them the codes and everything I was showing and what was happening and asked when I could get the car to them, and if it was safe to ride, they said if it’s still ran to go smoothly to the dealership which was a 10 minute drive. As directed by the dealership I brought the car for service and I also located a voluntary emissions report that Kia issued in April of 2024 along with a copy of letters said to be sent to each owner of my make and model. The vehicle has experienced repeated transmission-related issues, including erratic shifting, delayed response, slippage, and sudden loss of power while driving. These symptoms significantly impact drivability and pose a safety risk, especially when accelerating or merging in traffic. The issue was previously addressed by the dealership under a recall repair. However, the same transmission behavior has returned approximately 3–4 months after the repair. The dealership performed repairs multiple times before, and the symptoms have now recurred. The problem has been confirmed by the authorized dealership and is scheduled for another inspection. There have been warning symptoms such as hesitation during gear shifts and intermittent power dips while in motion, which began reappearing recently. The component remains available for inspection. Given the repeat nature of the issue following an official recall, I believe this may be part of a broader unresolved defect in the vehicle’s transmission system. The issue initially reappeared briefly after the recall repair, then subsided. However, it returned more consistently and noticeably after a couple of months, and is now ongoing.

UNKNOWN. When the vehicle is turned on and parked with the vent opened letting outside air circulate into the cabin. there is a foul smell like coolant or engine fume that come with the air flow. I did change my air filter multiple times but the suffocating smell does not stop. it gives headaches. there are reddit threads on this issue with Kias. please take a look into it. thank you

I was driving on [XXX] and I heard a really loud sound like a Gun Shot in my Car I couldn't just pull over I had to get off at the next exit when I did I checked myself and then I checked my Windows then I opened my back door on the passenger side and saw that behind the seat had swollen up. I drove to work and call KIA where I purchased the car and told them what happened my husband carried the car to them and to make a long story short. This has happened on 2 occasions, 1 while starting the car 1 while driving. Both times the cars volume went to max with either radio or Bluetooth on and produced a static noise with it. The volume knob did not adjust the piercing noise unless set to 0 or mute. This was remedied by pulling the amp fuze and reseting the radio. I had no lights or warnings pop up, and have yet to have this inspected by a dealership. This instant volume switch to max output with static while driving almost caused an accident as I was distracted trying to turn down my radio as quickly as possible with pain in my ears on the interstate. While stationary even after turning down the radio I still have lingering pain from how loud it was. From what I can tell this is something with the radio unit or amp within the car.

Brake Rotors from factory warp very early, noticable in under 30k miles. Warped rotors makes braking harsh, makes the brakes not work as well ans steering wheel jolt when braking making it dangerous. Was diagnosed by myself and other K5 drivers who took their cars to dealerships and mechanics. No warning lamps or anything, just very rough braking. Happened to me around 24,000 miles

These warnings light up at the same time the dash for Electronic stability system, electronic parking brake, forward collision system, Auto hold and engine light, saying "check forward collision system, check blind spot detection, check smart cruise control system", and the vehicle goes into a sort of limp mode, not allowing it to accelerate past about 40 mph easily. In my research, I've have found approximately 50 other Kia k5 owners who have had this exact same issue. Half of the time, once taken to the dealership for diagnosis, it is weeks without anyone figuring out what the issue might be. Several instances where a part has been replaced which did not fix the issue at all, like an airbag module, or steering column. Several instances of the ecu and hecu being replaced, and several more of the entire engine/chassis wire harness being replaced. As for my case, now at the dealership for 2nd time because they could not reproduce warning lights while test driving vehicle. They have determined mine requires a full chassis wire harness replacement, with an estimated cost of $5k-$7k, which includes the $2800 harness. I initially thought mine was an isolated incident, and was shocked to find as many owners as I have that have experienced the same issue, some with mileage as low 25 miles, and causing sudden braking or issue with steering the vehicle. Turn signal, the turn signal just goes out and does not work. This is a know issue with kia. I have almost bin hit several times do to this. I have 2 exact cars and they have both the same issue. You cannot just have the bulb replaced, the whole headlight asembly has to be replaced, the front bumper has to be removed to replace the headlight asembly, very costly, this is not so much the cost but more of a safety concern.

I had 130 miles until I needed to fuel up. Out of nowhere, my gas light comes on with the miles now blanked out. I thought it was odd, but stopped at the next gas station to fuel up. It would not let me put more than .22 cents into the tank without gas exploding out the side. Again, cranked up the car & it states it still needs gas. Tried another gas station & got the same result. Ended up at the nearest Kia & they stated it was the fuel tank expansion recall. They told me they ordered the parts and it should be fixed a little after Christmas. A week later and they are stating they do not know how to fix the vehicle and have no options for rentals/loaners. They said Kia would have to contact them before they can work on the vehicle. I have not received a call but did call the 1-800 number I was given and they basically said that they don’t know what they are going to do and someone will reach out to me. This is so scary as a consumer that Kia is allowed to place vehicles on the road that are considered very dangerous. A process needs to be in place fairly quickly or I am afraid there will be a lot of people in my situation. Not only was this scary, I was alone & this could have put me in danger on the road. I will never buy a Kia again & hate the service I have received as I have been left in the dark from the beginning.

2022 Kia K5 GT Line steering wheel is getting stuck when driving over 20mph. It is hard to keep the wheel in a straight line when driving. The steering wheel becomes sticky and will veer to another lane. You have to apply pressure to bring the car back to center which is a safety hazard because when the wheel loosen up you unknowingly be in another lane. While driving, my wheel became extremely stiff and I close to hitting a vehicle in another lane because I had no control of the wheel. Kia dealerships are refusing to service my K5 without giving any reason. It is a scary situation when you can not control the car due to this stuck steering even when all assisted driving and lane assist features are turned off. This issue began in September and I have not been able to remediate the problem. Kia dealerships are not helping. I have taken my car to independent mechanics and they are not able to determine the cause of this issue. When driving at higher speeds like 60mph and over you have to continually add pressure to keep the car in a straight line. I have had front and rear end alignments and full inspections but have no found a solution to this problem.

The air bags did not deployed, resulting in the contacts wife wife sustaining injuries he attributed to the failure. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was towed to a body repair shop but later deemed a total loss by contacts insurance provider. A police report was filed and injuries were reported. The contact and his wife transported themselves to an area hospital for treatment. Both the contact and his wife were treated for varying levels of pain to their neck and back. After investigating the failure, the contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V149000 (Air Bgas), but the VIN was not included. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, and a case was opened; the contact was informed that the manufacturer had requested his insurance provider hold the vehicle at the body repair shop pending a review of the incident recorder. The failure mileage was 62,000.

IN OCT 2023 I STARTED HAVING ISSUES WITH MY FUEL TANK. I WAS DRIVING AND NOTICED MY FUEL GAGE WAS ON EMPTY BUT MY FUEL MILEAGE STATED THAT I HAD 100 MILES LEFT. I WENT TO THE GAS STATION TO FUEL UP AND I WASN'T ABLE TO PUMP ANY FUEL. I PROCEEDED TO DRIVE AND HEARD A LOUD BOOM AND A HISSING NOISE. I PULLED OVER TO ASSESS MY VEHICLE AND DIDN'T NOTICE ANYTHING WRONG. I TOOK MY CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP ON 10/26/2023. IN MAY OF 2024 I WAS ON MY WAY TO PICK UP MY DAUGHTER AND GRANDSON AND STARTED NOTICING MY FUEL GAGE WAS HAVING AN ISSUE AGAIN. ON MY WAY TO THE GAS STATION I HEARD A LOUD BOOM. I COULDN'T PUMP FUEL AGAIN. I PROCEEDED TO PICK UP MY DAUGHTER AND GRANDSON. AS THEY GOT IN THE BACKSEAT SHE ASKED ME WHY WAS THE SEAT LIFTED. I INSPECTED MY REAR SEAT AND NOTICED A 3-4 INCH GAP FROM THE SEAT AND THE BASE OF THE SEAT, ALSO IT HAD A LARGE LUMP. I TOOK MY VEHICLE TO THE DEALERSHIP THE FOLLOWING DAY ON MAY 24, 2024.VEHICLE IS AVAILABLE FOR INSPECTION. IT'S CURRENTLY AT THE KIA DEALERSHIP IN DOWNTOWN LOS ANGELES. AS AN UBER DRIVER MY LIFE AND THE LIVES OF MY PASSENGERS AS WELL AS FAMILY MEMBERS HAS BEEN PUT IN DANGER. UNKNOWN. MY VEHICLE HAS BEEN INSPECTED FOR THIS ISSUE ON 10/26/2023, 05/24/2024, AND 09/24/2024. THE VEHICLE IS CURRENTLY AT THE DEALERSHIP. 2022 car with 80000 miles on it has a break booster vaccum pump failure

My 2022 Kia K5 GT-Line was involved in a hit and run accident while my vehicle was unattended and legally parked on the street. The repairs for this vehicle were $11,500+ The entirety of the left side of the car was mauled. Very key integral parts were involved and I have had alignment issues, A/C and heating issues, electrical problems including safety features (lane change, etc) and heavy suspension damage. It took almost 5 months to fix everything on my car insurance company/shop; mostly using aftermarket parts to save money. Loved the “State of condition must be repaired to a pre-accident condition” yet the insurance gets away with using after market parts! As of, 08/29/2024, my vehicle is currently at the Kia dealership for o2 sensor recall, as well as my melted blower motor, melted a/c wiring harness kit, foul stench coming from A/C vents when recirculating switched into fresh air mode. The smell is foul and causing upper respiratory issues for me. The seat has become toxic smelling from mildew/rust. I’ve been trying to address all of the above issues. The shop believes once they fix the A/C blower motor/wiring harness they can try to diagnose the fumes coming from the vents. Most of the repairs are on back order and without a date (2weeks-2months+) I am without a vehicle for my job and my insurance doesn’t cover rental reimbursement.

A couple of days before taking my vehicle to get serviced, I started noticing some concerning factors about an issue going on with the vehicles fuel system. When putting fuel in my car, the gas odometer wouldn't match with what the car was marking the gas miles to be. It would fluctuate throughout the day, in the morning it would mark 174 miles of fuel and in the afternoon it would somehow say I had 215 miles of fuel when I never added more fuel to my call. Also when I opened the gas tank I saw white smoke come out from the tank. My back seat also popped out of the clips that kept it in place. It was very apparent while doing research online of the issues I was going through, that other have similar issues, all leading to the fuel tank expanding. The service center at my local Kia claimed their not 1 but 2 recalls on the vehicles and unfortunately the sensor in the fuel tank needed an update, but because my gas tank expanded while they checked it out, they said they couldn't simply update the sensor as my whole fuel system had to be redone. I have tried to reach out to Kia since I do not have a vehicle to commute to work and it is essential I get the issue resolved with my car. I don't know how long this process will take either since no one provides clear time frames or how the process will go. I am pretty much out of a car for over 6 days and still don't know if it can be repaired or what can be done with my vehicle in the condition it is in.

Fuse melted into the fuse box causing electrical problems which caused blower motor issues which leads to no ac

I have a 2022 Kia K5 GT-Line. My problem started with what I thought was a AC problem. My car was still in warranty. (Under 60,000 miles). They change the blower motor. After it was fixed the next day my AC went out again. I have taken my car in 4 times about the same problem. Just for them to tell me it’s a fuse problem where the fuse box is overheating and the whole fuse box is melting and needs to be repaired which I was told is almost $2000 to be repaired and it is not covered under the warranty. I know of 5 other people that’s having the same problem. I wouldn’t expect this to happen to an 2 year old car.

TRYING TO PASS A TRUCK THAT WAS TRAVELING SLOWLY, I ACCELLERATED AND LOST POWER. I TRIED AGAIN AND SAME THING. THIS IS INDEED A TRAFIC HAZARD. I NOTICED THAT THE RPM RAISED, BUT THE VEHICLE LOST POWER.

On June 12, 2024, the driver heard a loud pop/thump coming from the rear of the vehicle. The driver looked back to inspect the vehicle and noticed that the back seats had lifted his child and car seat up from the proper seating position. Upon further inspection, the driver had noticed a large bulge under the rear seats that was releasing a lot of heat and the smell of gas was throughout the cabin of the vehicle. On the way home at the time of the event the driver stopped to get the gas and when opening the gas cap noticed a violent pressure release, similar to opening a shaken-up soda. The driver quickly got to a safe location as the heat in the passenger cabin started to rise. The driver immediately notified the Kia Service Dept. and the vehicle was towed to the Kia service department on June 13, 2024. On June 18, 2024, the driver was told that the current issue was due to a gas tank expansion issue and that the gas tank expanded causing the metal frame to bend, and that the vehicle may not be repairable since the metal frame had been bent. The service department stating the vehicle is no longer safe to drive and that the issue would be escalated to their consumer affairs team. It is July 29, 2024, and there has been no word of Kia or any representative thereof that has reached out to remedy this issue. The dealer has denied a temporary replacement vehicle and/or rental car replacement for the time being. Where the driver and child were at extreme risk of a potential fatalit

No warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was driven to the local dealer to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that the fuse was burned and could cause an electrical fire. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 24,000.

A/C has gone completely out on vehicle. Fuse has melted into fuse box and destroyed the electrical harness causing the blower motor and resistor to malfunction. Second time this incident has occurred and is a know problem to my local KIA dealership.

The dealer offered to repurchase the vehicle. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and a case was opened. The failure mileage was approximately 47,940.

I was driving home yesterday and experienced a loud pop in the back of the car and found the backseat had lifted because the gas tank had expanded I am at the dealership right now Hoping that they will give me a loaner And I would like to trade the car in because I don’t trust the car anymore There are other reports of this similar issue I found online The reports say that there is a PVC pressure release valve that is getting stuck and causing the gas tanks to explode I am currently at the dealership and it is going to be inspected It is the first time this dealership has had this issue reported But there are six other incidents reported in other states like Texas, Louisiana, Florida, and North Carolina

Instrumental Cluster has went completely out. The only light that’s on is the seatbelt light on my 2022 Kia K5. That’s is strange for a brand new car unless there could be a recall which is for the late 2022 / 2023 model cars. I contacted every Kia dealership near me and would not tell me what the issue could be that I needed to bring it in. The amount just to do a diagnostic was not in my budget but finding out later that there are recalls for this exact reason, does not sit well with me. I contacted a service manager in Sherwood AR where I lurched my vehicle to see if its cover under warranty and he has not called back. It’s not customer service satisfying that neither techs were even willing to tell me why it just magically stopped working on a brand new car. I put my life at risk driving my kids and myself to work, I couldn’t see how fast I was going, don’t know how much gas I have in my car, signal light comes on but no sound… NOTHING. Something has to be done and seeing that other Kia’s has had this same issue does not sit well with me and a Kia owner.

I was experiencing problems with my air conditioning not staying on and the blower would not come on at all. It would come on sometimes but it stop cooling and sometimes it wouldn’t come on. I reported the problem in November 2023 and was told that the something in the wiring harness had burnt out and the wiring harness had to be replaced. Their earliest available service appointment was in February 5, 2024. I asked if it was safe to continue driving, and I was told yes it is drivable and wouldn’t be a hazard. It’s been over a month and I can never get the status of my vehicle from the service department. I contact the Kia corporate office and they gave them a service completion date and my vehicle has not been repaired. After a second attempt with the corporate office, the corporate office call wasn’t answered so a message was left. This vehicle has 34K miles and should not be in need of such a repair for a 2022 Kia K5. It’s March 11, 2024 and I’m without my vehicle and haven’t been provided with a loaner after several requests. I have learned my lesson and hoping this matter will be resolved.

I was involved in an accident where my lane departure warning did not work! I was hit twice, causing significant body damage over19,000 in which my air bags did not deploy!

The contact owns a 2022 Kia K5. The contact statement while driving at approximately 45 MPH, there was a sound of air inside the cabin of the vehicle and the fuel gauge erroneously reduced to empty. The vehicle was later driven to the local dealer who diagnosed that the fuel tank was defective and had expanded and needed to be replaced. The contact was informed that the fuel tank expansion had also caused damage to the rear seat support metal. The exact cause of the failure was not yet determined. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 72,000.2

On August 23rd my car slowed down while on the highway and completely came to a stop and wouldn’t drive while pressing the gas. At this time the forward safety system, EPB, Auto Hold, caution and traction control lights were on. I had to get the car towed to the dealership. September 1 Kia called said nothing was wrong with the car I could pick it up that same day I got charged for a diagnostic fee and also asked for the inspection to be done. Picked up the car on 9/2. After driving the car 2 days all the lights came up including the check engine light, at this moment the car completely stopped and turned off while in the middle of incoming traffic when turning at a light. Quickly turned blinker lights on and turned the car on and was able to drive it at this time only the check engine light was on called my husband because I was shaken by the fact that I could of been seriously injured if traffic would of been heavier at that time. He called Kia told them about the situation and they said to take the car in. As of right now 10/3 Kia is still not aware of what is going on with the vehicle and have stated that they have checked several things and still have not found the issue. The next thing they will be checking is the fuel system. To this moment I am thankful that nothing worse happened when the car completely came to a stop in the middle of incoming traffic, while the car was just inspected 2 days before.

The saga continues with this particular vehicle, which Goose Creek Mitsubishi failed to disclose had experienced prior accidents, major parts damages, repairs, & replacements. So much so, the frame & body works of the entire vehicle have been quite compromised. The most recent sign of their attempted repairs & replacements, due to undisclosed front & side impact damages, is the entire front bumper, which became fully detached, while in transit. On the way, to & from my wife's surgery, we passed through some uneven pavement sections, along a construction zone, between Barnwell, SC & Aiken, SC, on August 11. As we reached my son's school & entered the parking lot, I began to hear sounds from the front end of the vehicle. By the time we pulled into a parking spot, all but one corner of the bumper had become detached & was lying on the ground. I didn't have the resources, on hand, to properly address the collapsed bumper. Thankfully, my own father came to our rescue. We used bungee cords, straps, & zip ties, in order to secure the front bumper in place. Due to the bumper being offset & the cords/strap crossing over the top edges of the bumper assembly & engine frame, I've been unable to fully secure the hood. The vehicle has been rendered unsafe for highway driving. My mechanic & I have addressed that very bumper, through previous communications, directly to the dealership, through a prior BBB complaint process, & a currently open, SC Consumer Affairs complaint.
