The vehicle in September of 2024 after a software update randomly changed the settings. The forward collision off warning light remains on (in settings the forward collision is "on", the language changed to Italian, the paddle shifters stopped working, the units changed, and the grid for the backup camera was turned off). I had it serviced at Jeep. They reset the vehicle which temporarily fixed the issue, however, 3 weeks later it happened again. There is a known MOPAR/star case number S2108000249. This is also reported in Jeep Forum. My safety is at risk due to the failure of the forward collision warning light/software malfunction. I feel that I am at risk for a forward collision. Also the paddle shifters don't work.

We opened a warranty service case #92312434 yesterdday because case #91655707 was closed prematurely while our vehicle is still in disrepair. Our 2022 Grand Cherokee has been to Lithia Jeep of Reno for warranty service on seven occasions since October 29th, spanning 89 days, for a vibration issue which remains unresolved as of today. The manufacturer is in material breach of 49 U.S. Code § 30120 and refuses to offer a replacement or repurchase despite prima facie evidence of failure to repair within a reasonable time (defined as 60 days).

I have some major safety concerns with my 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee, specifically with the AEB. Today was the SECOND time that my automatic emergency braking came on while I’m driving down the highway at 60 mph. The first time was in November. The roads were dry, no other cars coming toward me, driving on a straight stretch, with one car a safe distance behind. My jeep went from 60 to 0 slamming on the brakes so hard and flashing the AEB lights and dinging on the dash. Seat belts locked up tight and gave you a hard fast whip lash forward. Very terrifying like what is even happening?! The car behind me thank goodness had enough time to slam on their brakes and not rear end me! As fast as you could even comprehend what was happening, the lights and dinging stop and you can drive again. I was like maybe a leaf or something blew over the sensor and kind of wrote it off because nothing came up on my Jeep app. Fast forward to today, February 25th. Again roads are dry, no one is coming towards me, driving 60 mph in a straight stretch and wham the auto emergency brakes slam on again! Hard brake from 60-0 mph. AEB lights flashing and dinging, locking seat belts and whiplashing your head forward as you screech to an uncontrolled stop. I had absolutely no control over my brakes or gas! This time I’m livid bc my children were in the car with me! Thank goodness everyone was properly wearing seatbelts and in car seats, and I had both hands on the steering wheel, and it was not on a bend in

Sometimes I get a message that the AEB/ACC is not working and to see the Dealer other times i have a light lit showing it is not working. On some occasions there are no signs of it not working but ate ACC works like the regular cruise control and does not slow the car down unless you apply the brake. The car has been to the dealer 2 pervious times with no long term fix it is now there again out of warrantee waiting to be fixed. last time was 05/06/24

The front passenger door is unable to be opened from the inside or the outside. The handle from the inside feels like it has no tension, like something snapped inside. Two local mechanics suggested taking to the dealer as this seems like a potential safety issue with no means of egress from the passenger side if needed. Dealer said they have never seen this problem and deem that a fix will be very difficult as they are unable to open the door to remove the interior panel. The only way to access the latch mechanism is to remove the exterior door panel, a major task. Two safety issues- impossible to exit door inside, what if this happens to another door and I am unable to escape my vehicle? Or unable to get my child from inside? And because the mechanism cannot be inspected, is the door safely locked, or will it open while driving? Contacted Chrysler and they are unwilling to cover repair since vehicle is at 39,000 miles and warranty ended at 36,000. Chrysler rep also said never seen this issue before. Should be covered as manufacturing defect and potential major safety issue.

My Jeep, when using adaptive cruise control, will occasionally apply emergency breaking when a vehicle passes alongside me in an adjacent lane in the same direction of travel. I’ve had other cars directly behind me when this happens and it appears to other drivers like I’m “break checking” them. Usually it’s triggered when the passing adjacent vehicle is a tractor trailer or a truck pulling a trailer. Furthermore, the actual early warning forward crash detection does not work at all. I have no warning lights alerting me of a malfunction.

Vehicle has a knocking noise coming from around the engine. There has been a TSB posted regarding the issue described as, "Customer may describe a low frequency vibration noise heard during engine mount actuation while at idle in gear". This is a frequent issue among dealers around my area that are having to replace vehicles outside of the warrant window. Engine mounts in most vehicles last at least 5-6 years before having to be replaced. This is causing a huge distraction with the noise that is a result.

While traveling/driving with the ADAS on, the brakes slam on detecting a front end impact. The dash board disappears and the word BRAKE in all red capital lettering with a very loud beeping coming through the speakers happens. The first time it happened was in Oct of 2023 and has happened every time I travel using the ADAS. I have made an appt every time I’ve gotten back to town after traveling to have it looked at. #1 I’ve been told they can’t find a problem with it, #2 It’s been recalibrated 3 times and the service manager even asked for my permission to take my vehicle to his personal home for the weekend so that he could follow the FCA guidelines after it was recalibrated because it had to sit for a time period before it was drove. My Jeep App can show the history of its location. While traveling home the weekend of April 26, 2024 the brakes slammed on 3 times simultaneously causing all traffic behind me to lock up their brakes. Had I gotten hit I would’ve become a human pin ball across 3 lanes of Interstate 80/90. When I pulled off on the side of road so did the vehicle who almost hit me, I was so shook up I was in tears #3 I got told to not use the feature since I knew there was a problem, #4 I asked if there was something they could install to record what’s going on #5 they finally installed an “In flight recording module” the time before I drove home but upon return saying it recorded information but that they don’t know the reason why it’s doing it or how to fix it.

Engine making thwomping sound on passenger side, only after 30 miles of driving. Must be in gear - D or R. 27k miles Jeep Grand Cherokee L Engine mounts suspected. No inspection yet because it's near impossible to recreate in a 'shop' environment. My dealer requires leaving the car for a week and they drive it for five minutes. That is not enough to get this to happen. We believe it has to do with TSB - 09-015-22 On the Jeep Forums [XXX] ), a LOT of people have this same problem. The issue is, you have to drive the vehicle about 30 miles before it appears. This is consistent with all users on the forum as well. Of course this makes it VERY difficult to pin down and near impossible to get a warranty fix since they cannot recreate it. In the TSB it mentions "If the symptom/condition is present and the mounts are not NIK AG or newer, proceed..." This means they know the old mounts are faulty by admission, yet no recall. Clearly everyone is running into this or will. Poor design, should be a recall on these parts - Engine mount. While driving my car on the interstate and main highways, it started wobbling back and forth worsening as it was driven further. The main body of the car began swaying left to right while still driving in a straight line. As we noticed it, luckily there was a Jeep dealership at the next exit on the interstate, so we took it straight to them and the senior mechanic stated he had "never seen anything like it" how there were multiple breaks in the metal connecting the passenger side rear knuckle joints without a known impact to the site of damage on the car, he stated "something like that should have never broken by itself without you hitting something". Nothing was or has ever been hit in this car, this piece of equipment failed on its own and put several people's life in danger, the wheel could have very well come off and caused a crash at interstate speeds of up to 75mph (the local speed limit) and surely would have caused multiple fatalities as there were multiple passengers. The vehicle has been inspected by the team at Blue Ribbon Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram in Sallisaw, Oklahoma and is being repaired there, and the available broken parts will be returned to me when the repairs are completed as evidence. There were no notices or warnings from the system alerting us of any issue with the suspension or any other malfunction in the car. This is a very dangerous issue if there are multiple other cars that have had this issue.

We have reported to the dealer multiple instances of noises (crunching and low thuds) and 'thumping' felt through floor boards coming from what appears to be front passenger side. Dealer installed right from sway bar end link as well as subsequently perform NHTSA mandatory recall repairs on Front Upper Control Arm to Steering Knuckle Pinch Bolt. After each 'repair' the problem appears to be getting worse (additionally we had the experience of the 'Sway Bar Disconnect Unavailable' light coming on while driving on a paved surface without having depressed the Sway-Bar button). We brought the vehicle into the Dealer again and one of the Service Managers came for a ride and confirmed our complaints. After a day of looking the Dealer stated that they are going to replace parts previously installed as they may have been defective. Parts are on order but we are concerned for our safety in continuing to drive the vehicle, due not only the sounds we are hearing / feeling but after having researched complaints online (as there are many folks having similar experiences, it appears that Chrysler / Jeep still have more work to do on the safe operation of the vehicle . thank you

Glass sunroof panel shattered while driving on empty highway at 60 MPH. No explainable cause, e.g. no driving range nearby. The sunroof was rarely opened and was closed during the incident. There was no prior indication of failure. Noise resembled a LOUD bang. Shade prevented glass from raining down onto occupants. The noise was sudden and startled driver. Since road was empty, the incident did not cause the driver to loose control. No car behind, when chunks of glass blew off. After driving 15 miles, examination showed about 1/3 of the glass was missing. The much of the remaining glass was removed to reduce occupant risk. Shattered glass was vacuumed and can be examined but not as a pane. Next car will be driven to dealer. And possibly to insurance agent.

I called our dealership to schedule the repair for this recall; they indicated that parts have been back ordered and they are only getting one part per week to accomplish repairs. They have a waiting list established on which I am number 62, which at the current rate of receipt of parts, I would be waiting for about 15 months to get the recall repair completed. For a recall that could potentially cause a crash without warning, this seems like something that should be addressed more quickly than 15 months.

I am writing to provide feedback and express my concerns about the safety and reliability of my 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee L. Over the last 12 months, my vehicle has been subject to three recalls, including a severe safety recall involving the potential for the Upper Control Arm (UCA) to separate from the knuckle, and a failed rear differential. The most recent recall, announced on February 28, has been particularly troubling, as it has rendered my vehicle unsafe to drive or rent out, directly impacting my livelihood as I use this vehicle exclusively for Turo rentals. It has been over 30 days since the announcement of the recall, and I have received no indication of when the necessary repairs will be made available. A timeline for resolution exceeding 30 days for such a significant safety recall and the absence of interim support measures from the manufacturer has left me in a precarious position, both financially and in terms of vehicle safety. I am concerned about the frequency of recalls and the severity of the issues identified in such a new vehicle. Additionally, the extended period without a resolution or clear communication from the manufacturer exacerbates these concerns. I kindly request that NHTSA investigate the handling of this and previous recalls for the 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee L to ensure that consumer safety and communication are adequately prioritized. Thank you for your attention to these matters. I trust that the NHTSA will take the necessary steps to addres

The brake force will jump suddenly and fall back when the brake pedal is even maintained at a constant level while the vehicle is being braked to a stop or decelerating. This malfunctioning will lead to imprecise control of the distance to the front vehicle. Engine Wobbling when it is fully stopped with "D" gear engaged, especially when the transmission temperature comes up after a few hours of driving. It can be clearly felt that the entire vehicle is bouncing with the engine. Engine misfires when crawling after a cold start. Engine speed will fall suddenly and then back up. The vehicle will shake badly, which can cause improper reaction and improper operation of the vehicle speed. The passenger seat squeezes the center console on the right side and the plastic panel comes off, which exposes a sharp edge to the passenger's lower body. After the dealer's inspection, there is no obvious cause for this defect, passenger and center console are all in their places. The rear quarter window on the passenger side water leak. Metal rattling noise from the left front side (driver side) of the cabin when the vehicle is running on a bumpy road, especially in hot weather. Noise comes from the rear left suspension when the vehicle is decelerating.

I am writing to express my deep concern regarding the safety risk highlighted in the open recall 24V-132. Upon reviewing the details provided, particularly the issue involving the damaged pinch bolt which may break and lead to a loss of clamp load between the UCA ball joint and the knuckle, I am gravely concerned about the potential consequences. As someone who prioritizes the safety of myself, my loved ones, and others on the road, it is distressing to contemplate the possible ramifications of such a failure. The prospect of the UCA separating from the knuckle and the wheel subsequently falling outboard poses a significant threat not only to the occupants of the vehicle but also to other road users. In particular, the thought of being in a situation where the safety of my three children, or anyone else for that matter, is compromised due to this issue is deeply unsettling. The absence of prior warning exacerbates the seriousness of the situation, as it leaves little room for proactive measures to mitigate the risk. Given these circumstances, I implore you to take immediate action to address this safety concern and ensure the prompt implementation of necessary repairs or replacements as outlined in the recall. The well-being of everyone involved is paramount, and it is crucial that swift and decisive steps are taken to minimize the likelihood of any potential accidents or injuries. I appreciate your attention to this matter and trust that you will prioritize the safety of all

I have had water leaking into the vehicle from the sunroof, down the driver side B pillar and filling the battery compartment under the driver seat and leaving the carpeting wet. I discovered this in early 2023 only because i placed my hand on the floor behind the driver seat and felt it was wet. In April of 2023 the Jeep dealer cleaned the sunroof drains but it kept leaking. In October of 2023 I took it back again and they said the sunroof was damaged from the manufacturer and it had to be replaced. I dropped of the vehicle on 12/22/2023 so they could install a new sunroof and picked it up on 1/3/2024. I then dropped it off again on 1/10/2024 as it was still leaking. I picked it up again on 1/23/2024 and they said the new sunroof is also damaged and needs to be replaced. As of 2/16/2024 the part has not arrived and water still come into the vehicle, soaking the carpet under the driver seat and driver side passenger floor, there is a wire harness that comes from the B pillar and towards the driver seat that is also wet and the batter compartment fills with water. Also since October the auto stop start feature which used to activate during every drive has not activated once, dealer keeps saying it is working as it should. If so why has it not activated in 4 months? Has the water intrusion caused this issue? Is the water intrusion going to cause mold, rust or electrical issues?

Initially my backup camera guidelines disappeared and my forward facing camera guidelines would not turn off. My opened a "Star" case with Chrysler and worked on this issue for 3 months, replacing the camera, updating software, replacing two different camera modules and nothing would correct the issue. In November Chrysler told the dealer not to replace any more hardware and they acknowledged there was an issue with the software update that caused the problem. They were supposed to call me last week to coordinate loaner as supposedly they had received my parts, but never heard back from them. I feel this car is a lemon and I would like to file an official complaint to see what options I have.

The first occurrence was upon starting the vehicle in a parking lot. The death cluster lit up with power steering unavailable, airbags unavailable, autobrake disengaged, and the the battery warning. The dealership towed the vehicle and replaced the batteries. In April of ‘22 While driving the vehicle the power steering became unavailable, forcing a difficult left turn off a major roadway. The same warning lights came on and the vehicle was not drivable. The vehicle was towed and a new power steering rack and steering gear were installed. Third occurrence was in the driveway recently when again upon starting the same warning lights were on and there was no power steering available. The vehicle is at the dealership now being inspected.

Engine performance was rough due to the loss of some of the engine controls and the TIPM (Totally Integrated Power Module). - Vehicle was inspected by a dealer of the OEM - There was a check engine light, and loss of control electronics (Stop start system control, park assist control, etc. ). Problem first appeared on 11-27-2023.

I pushed brake and turned on emergency light until the vehicle slowed down and eventually stopped on the road shoulder. It was very dangerous. At that point I did not even know there was a recall about power steering on this model - although later I found out my vehicle was not included in that recall it. I took my vehicle to local dealership (Opelika Ford Chrysler Jeep). I also contacted Jeep service line. The staff from Jeep created a case for me (case #: [XXX]) but was not helpful as he refused to give local dealership authorization to repair it - even though the service light was on when I brought it in. The dealership also had some communication with Jeep service. And they were denied authorization to repair it with recall exception or under warranty as they could not duplicate the issue. I was outraged by the lack of responsibility from Jeep as they knew I had a serious incident while they denied authorization to repair it accordingly only because my vehicle was not included in the recall list. I also requested to speak to the supervisor of the Jeep service staff but was told my case was officially closed. Just unbelievable!! I wonder wh

NHTSA publishes every complaint as the owner wrote it and investigates only a fraction. Spelling, capitalisation and judgement are the filer’s own. What carries weight is repetition: the same component failing the same way across many filings, and whether the manufacturer eventually opened a recall for it.
