The trailer is currently in the shop waiting to be repaired. We have pictures of the damage and the what the failed pin look like. Safety Hazard & Risk to Others: While towing the 2022 inTech Flyer Explorer at normal roadway speeds on a public road, severe vibration caused the factory single vertical drop-pin retention mechanism to disengage. The entire pull-out kitchen box assembly disengaged from its housing, swung completely out into oncoming/adjacent traffic lanes, and struck a roadside mailbox. While no drivers or pedestrians were injured in this instance, a heavy structural slide swinging open into public traffic during transit presents an extreme, life-threatening highway safety hazard that could easily cause a multi-vehicle collision or fatality. Complaint counts track how many cars were sold and how long they have been on the road as much as they track quality. A common model from 2013 has had a decade to accumulate reports; a rare one from last year has not. The signal worth weighing is in the severity columns, in whether the same component keeps appearing, and in whether the manufacturer eventually opened a recall for it.
Most recent recall on file: none. Source: NHTSA Office of Defects Investigation.
