On Friday the 7th of April while driving about 40 miles/hr my car lost power in traffic. I pushed gas pedal all way to floor to no avail. Then I was able to get it to move at about 20m/hr for short distance and it cut out and engine lite on as well as a horrible smell like something was burning. It had to be towed into dealer.

I have experienced power loss soon after I bought the car in Dec 2021. While I was driving the car was going in a constant speed of 20 to 30 mph. However hard I pressed the gas, car felt not responsive. Reported this to the service center and was advised that this may be since car is learning my driving habit. Later in december 2022, received a recall 236 letter from hyundai which was mentioning an issue similar to the one I experienced. Took the car for recall and informed me that the software upgrade is done as per manufacturer recommendations. Now on March 28th 2023 while I took the car out in the morning, there was more smoke than usual. And the same issue happened again. The car was not going beyond 20 to 30 mph for around 6 miles. Reported the same to the nearest service center and booked an appointment after 2 weeks . Also sent a complaint to hyundai motors directly
Automatic lift gate not functioning correctly ( maybe during hotter months). Door handle not responsive at times
The front windshield wiper mechanism failed to work twice during a build up of snow/ice on the windshield. The first incident was while starting up the car in my driveway. I had to scoop out and scrape the snow from around the bottom of the arm of the wipers. After working on it for a couple of minutes, the wipers started working. The second time they completely stopped working was while I was driving on a 45 MPH road. Heavy, wet snow from the roof had slid down onto my windshield. I could not see because the wipers stopped working. I had to pull over to the side and physically scoop out the snow with my hand that was around the wiper arms at the bottom of the windshield, half under the hood. It was extremely difficult to get to it. I had to do this twice to get the wipers to start working again. I saw yesterday that there is a recall for this exact issue on 100,000+ Palisades. I am reporting this to the Hyundai Dealership from which we bought the vehicle last year. There were no warnings, lights, signs to indicate the wiper failure.
Hi Team, Issue 1: unexpected Acceleration: Recently I found that is there is unexpected additional acceleration when I press gas pedal initially after changing gears from P to D. I am setting up an appointment with dealer to report and investigate this issue. My Car has only around 13000 miles on it. This issue was initially observed when one morning when i headed somewhere there is unexpected acceleration when I slightly press gas pedal. Issue 2: The Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) doesn't work properly when set to adaptive cruise control. It doesn't slow down /stop when getting close to cars parked at signal specially as slight curvy roads.
My vehicle has been having intermittent cylinder misfires for about 4-5 months now. Initially, before I knew this was the issue, I didn't think much of it because the shaking that would occur was mild, but as it gradually worsened I knew there was a bigger issue. I will start my car, the check engine light will be on, and the car will shake very hard with acceleration throughout the entire drive. I know that it is a cylinder misfire because I will get an alert on MyHyundai app telling me that a DTC code has been detected, this is the code, "DTC P030100" (the servicing department confirmed this was the misfire code). I have come to learn that the car usually only populates the code when the issue occurs for consecutive trips. As this is an intermittent issue, there are times when I know that the car is misfiring during the drive (it is obvious), but I will not be sent a DTC notification. I have taken my car to the dealership 3 times for this issue with documented DTC codes for each visit. Upon my initial visit to get this seen about, my local Hyundai dealership changed the spark plugs and coil packs in an attempt to fix the issue (although the spark plugs should not usually need replacing at 20,000 miles). It was about 2 days until it started misfiring again. Since then, I have taken it back to the dealership twice because of this unresolved issue, but if the cylinders are not misfiring the day I take it, the issue is dismissed. I truly do not think they know or care to invest

Stopped at a red light when the brake pedal depressed to the floor causing the vehicle to move forward from still being in gear. (No loss of brake fluid) It caused me to be involved in an accident. The investigating officer (police) tried the brakes, when he first tried the brake pedal was high and working, but then suddenly depressed to the floor for him as well. the vehicle needed to be towed to repair shop.

Gray-Epperson Hyundai, Cleveland TN still responds that there is no remedy. Dealers are unable to provide loaner cars and will not do transmission inspection. They will only update the software which does not ensure that high pressure pump is affected. Waiting for Code P1C2D03 to pop can leave me stranded miles from home and an approved dealership. I will have to fight with Hyundai for tow reimbursement.

On delivery the vehicle pulled to the left on the highway. Vehicle returned to dealer next day and 4 wheel alignment supposedly done. Car no longer pulled to left. Vehicle seemed very unstable in wet weather but owner assumed it was ok. At 3000 miles owner discovered all 4 tires wearing severely while adjusting tire pressures. Called dealer and dealership wanted a month to get back into service dept. Took vehicle to a local tire dealership for wheel alignment check. Front tires toe was -2 degrees. Rear tires plus 1.7 degrees. Owner parked vehicle when driving in icy weather became too dangerous as vehicle would try to spin out without driver input. Alignment assumed to be off from factory and dealer staff only corrected what they thought was wrong with front tires instead of doing a full re-alignment.

I was operating the vehicle at a rate of 35-45 mph while getting on a highway ramp. As I merged and attempted to accelerate, the vehicle downshifted into 2nd gear itself and suddenly dropped in speed. This same incident has taken place multiple times in the past two weeks. Today I was able to catch it on video.
The engine has had an oil leak since purchased new in 2021. This is a 2022 Hyundai Santa Fe with 4 cyl turbo engine. The air filter housing is also saturated with engine oil and the air filter is about 1/3 covered in engine oil, resulting in minimal protection. The possibility of fire is very realistic.

My car has stalled and shut down and locked up completely while I was driving the vehicle for the 4 th time Thanksgiving Day. I was petrified! I called service at the dealership and they wanted to charge me. The car isn’t even a year old! What is Hyundai going to do about this?
When I was driving the moonroof exploded without any incident and we didn’t have any car near us.
The car started to stall and then completely turned off while I was driving. I had to turn the engine off and restart the car. I was petrified. This has happened to me twice
On Friday 10/28/2022, I took my vehicle to receive its first oil change at a third party location at 7,042 miles and was told by the mechanic that there was significant metal pieces in the oil filter, which was abnormal for a brand new car but I was told it should be okay so I continued driving the car. My family and I left on a 700 mile road trip the next morning and by that night, the engine began making a knocking noise. On Sunday morning 10/30/2022, the engine would not accelerate anymore. On Tuesday 11/01/2022, I took the vehicle to Sport Durst Hyundai in Durham, NC who informed me the engine has failed but it would not be covered under warranty because they do not deem this to be a manufacturers defect. The car is not drivable and Hyundai is unwilling to replace the engine on a car with less than 8,000 miles on it. There is no reason my engine should have failed on a brand new car.
3rd and worse instance where had loss of power. While trying to accelerate onto the highway my vehicle would not do over 30mph (highway is 60mph zone). No lights illuminated on dash that there was any issue. Impeded traffic until I could pull over. This was VERY dangerous, I was lucky to not be rearended while trying to merge on highway. Dealer has had my vehicle for a week not being able to reproduce event. No codes in computer and unable to locate any recalls.
The vehicle is exhibiting heat spots on the rotors causing shaking while braking and making the vehicle not stop as designed or even reasonably safe. The issue first started at 7000 miles and became very undrivable by 9000 miles. The dealer turned the rotors at that time. Now the vehicle has 16000 miles and the issue has come back. I know of multiple others with the same issue including 1 family member with the same vehicle and year and multiple people on the hyunda forums. The service tech at the dealer said they see seeing this a lot now. Hyundai doesn't want to fix the issue any longer and it's still under warranty. The braking system is not sufficient for the size of the vehicle.
I received the warning: "A possible condition with your Transmission Control System has been detected with your 2022 SANTA FE (5NMS5DAL4NH384740) on 10/17/2022 at 05:12 pm PDT. A full system check is recommended to be done when convenient. Use the MyHyundai app or visit www.myhyundai.com to schedule an appointment with your preferred dealer."
The contact owns a 2022 Hyundai Santa Fe. The contact stated that on multiple occasions while driving approximately 25-40 MPH, the RPM increased to 5,000 however, the vehicle failed to respond. The contact was turned off and restarted the vehicle. No warning lights were illuminated. The contact called the local dealer and was advised to schedule an appointment to have the vehicle diagnosed. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 9,000.
We have had already had two issues with our Hyundai Santa Fe that we purchased new from a dealer on 5/21.The first malfunction happened on 7/23. While driving, we had several messages come across the dashboard warning that some sensors were not working properly. We then had the warning light, front collision light, the traction control light, the abs light, the auto hold and the emergency brake all light on the dash. We also lost the blind spot sensor on the side mirrors. Called the dealer and took the car in. Two days later was told it was a wheel sensor and all should be good. Then on 8/31, while merging onto a highway, I pressed the accelerator and although the engine revved, the car did not increase in speed. Luckily the car behind me was able to swing around me and I put on my hazards and pulled to side of the road. I turned the car off, restarted it and pulled out. Five miles down the road, while in traffic, the same issue occurred, but after about thirty seconds or so, the car jerked and picked up speed, Back to the dealer it goes and they called to tell me that they cannot replicate it and there are no diagnostic codes showing. They are going to keep it for a few more days to do some more diagnostic testing, but don't know what the issue is. This is a brand new car -
2022 HYUNDAI SANTA FE. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARD TO TRANSMISSION FAILURE. THE CONSUMER STATED AFTER REMOTE RESTARTING THE VEHICLE, THE DASHBOARD DISPLAY ALERTED "TRANSMISSION SYSTEM ERROR, CHECK TRANSMISSION OIL IMMEDIATELY". THE DEALER ADVISED THE VEHICLE WOULD NEED A NEW TRANSMISSION. THE TRANSMISSION WAS ON BACK ORDER. THE RANSMISSION FAILED ON JUNE 24, 2022. AS OF AUGUST 15, 2022 THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED. THE CONSUMER REQUESTED THAT THE VEHICLE BE BOUGHT BACK AND GIVEN ANOTHER VEHICLE OF THE SAME MAKE, MODEL, YEAR, AND PRICE.
We have a 2022 Hyundai Santa Fe with less than 17,000 miles. We pulled into the left turn lane at an intersection. When we stopped for a red light, the vehicle abruptly shut down all power with no warning. We tried to restart the car and nothing would work. We tried the hazard warning flashers and they did not work. Our vehicle was completely dead with no dash lights, no infotainment screen, we could not put the car in park or drive. We could not activate the emergency brake. It was as if the battery was disconnected. We were sitting in the travel lane of a very busy multi-lane roadway with no way to exit the vehicle unless we allowed it to become an errant vehicle. If my husband took his foot off the brake, the vehicle would have rolled backwards down the hill where we were stopped. After several light cycles, we were able to get a break in traffic and he was able to let the vehicle roll backwards and steer the car into a small roadside parking lot. I was able to find someone in an adjacent business who gave us a wooden chock to put under the tire so he could take his foot off the brake and prevent the car from reentering back into traffic. We called Roadside Assistance and tried unsuccessfully to restart the vehicle numerous times over the 2 1/2 hours while we were waiting for the tow truck. The tow truck driver came and was able to jump start the vehicle. This has now happened a total of 4 times in the last 4 months. The dealerships can not recreate the problem and there a
I was traveling along with no other traffic near me. All of a sudden I heard what sounded like a gun going off. I was traveling approximately 50 MPH. My New Santa Fe is less than 2 months old with 1700 miles on it. When I reached my destination about 20 miles further I got out and looked at the roof. The glass "eye brow" that sits in front of the moon roof was shattered. I am positive that nothing hit it as I was not among trees nor were there any other vehicles near me. I feel that this is a safety issue in that the mere noise of the explosion could have been so distracting that is could cause a major accident.
It's been 6 months since I bought my car new. Around about 5,000 miles I started noticing that it rev'd really high before it would switch gears. It really became a problem when I pulled out onto a busy main road from a side street and it got up to 20mph then just rev'd really high and wouldnt go any faster. I had my son with me in the car and he looked behind us and said, mom cars are coming why arent we moving. I told him I was trying to, I took my foot off the gas pedal then pushed it again, I did this several times as we were coasting to a stop. The car then felt like it finally jolted into gear and started to go. It did this a couple more times, especially when trying to speed up from a stop or a slow roll. I called the Hyundai service department and explained the situation, they took my car and looked at it. They said nothings wrong and nothing showed up on the computer they plug into it. So I took the car home and continued driving it as its my only vehicle. It started to now just rev real high alot with trying to go from a stop. It also started jolting real hard when putting it in drive from park but not all the time. I called the Hyundai service department again around 7500 miles and explained to them again. Again they brushed it off and told me theres nothing. When I picked it up I asked them what do I do then they basically told me nothing and the service guy told me he didnt believe me. I told him I have looked this up online and it has been an issue with other ye
The contact owns a 2022 Hyundai Santa Fe. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle lost motive power with the check engine and oil warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was towed to the dealer where it was diagnosed that there was 1/3 amount of water in the fuel tank, causing damage to the fuel injector. The dealer informed the contact that the fuel injector needed to be replaced; however, the part was not covered under warranty. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact stated that she had received a copy of the state inspection notice that it had passed for clean fuel from the gas station where she refueled. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and a case was opened. The failure mileage was approximately 11,000.
Front air bag did not deploy in accident. I was rearended in stopped position at 55+MPH by a SUV that pushed me forward causing front end collision with the stopped car in front of me. Front, rear and back passenger damage with intrusion. Towed to dealer. Bought new from Watermark Ford, Marion, IL ~3 months ago, no recalls, no other accidents. I sustained neck, head and arm injuries requiring immediate medical attention. Crash report with Illinois State Police. Auto insurance has full details and adjuster inspecting. I have pics of my vehicle and the ones causing damage.
Vehicle under normal operation began to lose power as the accelerator was depressed. Eventually stalling and consequently cutting power to the engine. The vehicle became immobile and would not move or engage out of drive until repeated efforts to turn off/on the vehicle. For a few days following the incident the vehicle idled very low, nearly shutting off in a few instances.
The contact owns a 2022 Hyundai Santa Fe. The contact stated there was an engineering speed control fault while driving approximately 65 MPH. The contact stated that the smart cruise control rode the brakes while going downhill and destroyed the rotors. There were no warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer and to be diagnosed. The dealer turned the rotors; however, the contact stated that if the cruise control was activated, it would destroy the rotors. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 2,500.
The contact owns a 2022 Hyundai Santa Fe. The contact stated that the vehicle was not able to start. Triple A towing company was not able to jumpstart the vehicle, and the vehicle was towed to the dealer. The dealer was not able to duplicate the failure however, the mechanic replaced the battery. The contact stated that the failure recurred. Triple A was made aware of the failure but was unable to jumpstart the vehicle. The vehicle was towed to the dealer however, the dealer could not duplicate the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 209.
Driving highway speed. Nice, clear day. No trucks or vehicles within 1/4 mile. No impact to windshield. Stress fracture started on passenger side of front windshield. Initial three inch fracture has expanded to over 12 inches
Service engine light is on sine the vehicle has 850 miles. Several attend to repair but still not been repair.
We purchased my 2022 Hyundai Sante Fe in July of 2021. I had about 5000 miles on the vehicle at the time. On October 15th I was driving down a 2 lane road and heard a pop, I didn't think much of it, thought it might have been an acorn that fell on my roof as the area I live in is very treesy. Later that evening when we got back in the car to leave, we noticed the windshield was cracked, probably about a six inch area. I told my husband earlier that day I heard the popping noise but did not see anything actually fly up and hit the windshield. So we proceeded to call the insurance company who told us the entire windshield would need to be replaced. We were responsible for our $500 deductible. The repair shop contacted every Hyundai dealership in the southeast region only to find out the windshields were on backorder until Oct. 31st. (red flag) In the meantime the crack has spread all the way across the windshield. We found it odd that windshields would be on backorder so we googled "Hyundai Sante Fe cracked windshields" and we were floored at the amount of stories out there with the same exact problem, not only with the Sante Fe but other Hyundai SUV models as well. I just wanted to bring this to your attention because I feel the windshields are defective and unsafe. I don't know how many people this has to happen to before Hyundai acknowledges the issue. Even if it were an acorn that fell, it should not have done the damage that it did. I still feel it was spontaneous as I did

NHTSA publishes every complaint as the owner wrote it and investigates only a fraction. Spelling, capitalisation and judgement are the filer’s own. What carries weight is repetition: the same component failing the same way across many filings, and whether the manufacturer eventually opened a recall for it.
