Driving on freeway, at speed limit. All was clear. The sunroof spontaneously exploded. Nothing struck it, it just exploded on its own.

My 2022 Honda Pilot failed to engage Drive after reversing, despite the Drive button being pressed. This resulted in an unintended backward motion & a collision with another vehicle. 1.What component or system failed or malfunctioned…? The Electronic Transmission Shift-by-Wire system (push-button shifter) failed to respond to a gear change request. Additionally, related electrical systems including the dashboard infotainment system & the integrated USB charging ports have malfunctioned. The vehicle & its components are available for inspection upon request. 2.How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? The vehicle experienced unintended motion. While attempting to move forward in a parking lot, the vehicle remained in Reverse despite selecting Drive. This failure led to a low-speed collision with a truck’s tow hitch. This defect creates a high risk of crashes, injuries to pedestrians, or property damage because the vehicle does not move in the direction the driver has selected. 3.Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? The vehicle was previously serviced at a Honda dealership for a radio/infotainment recall. Since that service, the transmission has failed to engage Drive multiple times at random. 4.Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer…? The vehicle was inspected during the initial recall fix. And brought back because after the fix because the charging port stopped working/continued screen
Our sunroof on our Honda 2022 Pilot spontaneously shattered while we were sitting at a stop light. Nothing fell on it and nothing hit, it just suddenly shattered while we were sitting in the stop light.
“The vehicle experiences phantom braking while driving, where the Collision Mitigation Braking System (CMBS) activates without warning even when there are no vehicles or objects in front of me. The vehicle suddenly brakes on its own, creating a major safety hazard and risk of rear-end collisions. The issue has happened multiple times during normal driving at different speeds. Warning lights related to the collision mitigation system and passenger airbag system have appeared intermittently. The blind spot monitoring system has also failed to properly detect nearby vehicles at times. The vehicle was previously taken to the dealership/service department and remained there for an extended period for inspection and attempted repairs, but the problem was not fully corrected. After getting the vehicle back, the same symptoms and braking issues continued. This issue puts myself, my passengers, and other drivers at risk because the vehicle may suddenly brake unexpectedly in traffic.
I turned my car on one day and warning lights for all of my safety sensing features came up. Intermittently they work for a little bit. I brought it to the dealer, and they said that there was damage to the sensor, but there has been no damage to the front end of the car. Their reply was perhaps a pebble came up from the road while I was driving. It seems to me that that is a fault in the manufacturing if it is that easy for all of the sensing features to stop working. I attempted to sort this out with the dealer and with Honda corporate offices with no luck.
This is the recall information on the Honda site. The failure of the backup camera on our vehicle is what is described in the recall, yet the Honda site does not include our vehicle. I request that our vehicle be included in the covered repair. (Honda) is recalling certain 2019-2022 model year Pilot and 2019-2023 model year Passport vehicles. The Media Oriented Systems Transport (MOST) communication coaxial cable was improperly designed and manufactured, resulting in deformed terminals and potentially causing poor, or lost, connections intermittently between the audio display unit and the vehicle cable connector. Safety Risk If the MOST communication is lost for more than 20 seconds, the rearview camera function will fail when the vehicle is in the reverse gear, increasing the risk of a crash or injury. Remedy Registered owners of all affected vehicles will be contacted by mail and asked to take their vehicle to an authorized Honda dealer. The dealer will install an improved MOST cable harness between the existing display audio and vehicle terminal connections and a straightening cover over the vehicle cable connector to properly connect the audio display unit. On April 3,2026 we are starting back from a road trip to Florida from Kentucky (starting odometer 69,199 miles)oil changed prior to leaving in our 2022 Honda pilot. Stopped to get gas and transmission alert code popped up-it would not go into any type of gear. We had no warning previously to this. We were still 3 hours from home, had to get it towed to nearest Honda dealership where they stated it was an electronic module failure but transmission would have to be replaced entirely. Car was out of standard power-train warranty of 60,000 miles d/t this road trip (odometer now over 70K) and we had no extended warranty on the vehicle. We requested assistance for transmission replacement from American Honda. We filled out the required form on 4/9/26 explaining we are a loyal Honda customer(own an additional Honda-CRV), had good service records, etc. It was assigned to a case manager on Fri 4/10-they called left voicemail that it was under review and asked us to call back. We immediately called back on Friday 4/10 and left message-no call back. The following week we called back everyday to American Honda and finally got our case manager over a week later on Monday 4/20-said it would be 5 more days. Heard back today 4/24/26 that Honda denied our assistance request saying it was out of warranty and there are no known manufactorer defects or recalls at this current time. Made us wait 3 weeks to decide we will have to eat cost of a new transmission in a car that is less than 4 years ol
Upon accelerating from a stop, or at various speeds, the vehicle experiences a significant loss of motive power(pulling backwards) followed by an abrupt lunge forward. This hesitation occurs unpredictably and makes entering traffic or intersections extremely hazardous. This feels like a fuel delivery or transmission engagement failure. The last incident occurred on or around the afternoon of March 23. My vehicle has been examined at the dealership on multiple occasions for this same issue and each time I have been told that they are unable to replicate the issue and can not help me further unless they are able to replicate the issue.
Each time my battery has died the brake starter has also stopped working. I have had to get the starter replaced three times in 4 years. The starter for the Honda pilot 2022 is faulty
While driving on the expressway at speeds above 60 mph and while attempting to pass another vehicle the vehicle shuts down with no acceleration. The vehicle will then after several seconds regain acceleration. Several times it has sounded like the vehicles starter engaged. This is a random occurrence and has happened approximately 10 times. There are no error codes and the dealership states that they can not recreate the issue so there is nothing wrong.
I was operating a 2022 Honda Pilot and had just made a left turn into a parking lot. I was slowly pulling into a parking space directly in front of a dance studio with a large floor-to-ceiling window. There were four children and a dance instructor standing inside near the window. As I was coming to a stop to park, my foot was on the brake. At that moment, the engine suddenly revved loudly and the vehicle accelerated forward unexpectedly without any additional throttle input. There were no warning lights, messages, or prior symptoms before this occurred. Despite braking, the vehicle continued forward and struck the exterior of the building. I was able to avoid the window area where the children were standing. The airbag deployed, and the front passenger side of the vehicle was damaged. The building was not structurally damaged, and no one was injured. There were no obstructions such as floor mats interfering with the accelerator, and there was no unintended pedal input. My foot was on the brake at the time of the incident. This appears to be a case of sudden unintended acceleration. The issue has not been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or service center, and there were no prior warning signs before the event. The vehicle is available for inspection upon request. It has been towed to the body shop. The problem has not been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center at this time. The vehicle was inspected by insurance and they did not total it. It is
When the vehicle is stopped at a light and the auto engine idle engages, it intermittently stalls or shuts off the engine and unable or struggles to restart. The most recent time, the Pilot had to be shut off completely and restarted while sitting at a newly turned green light with large semi trucks behind us. When the auto engine idle is turned off there are no problems. This has happened 5 times over the course of the last 2-3 months.
Without any warning or incident, The multipurpose camera has failed and several systems are no longer available. DTC U3000-49 This includes, cruise control not working as well as auto high beams and autobraking
The front windshield camera is causing the brake system error light to come on and triggering the safety system to malfunction. This failed camera system disables safety features and causes lane assist, cruise control , lighting features, back-up camera, driving assist, and the collision system to be disabled, causing a major safety concern. This front camera system has failed and has been diagnosed by the Certified Honda dealer that my vehicle was purchased from. My vehicle is 4 years old and has 35k miles, and the system has failed. Each component was inspected and issues diagnosed by the dealer. The warning light first displayed on the dashboard and showed as a "brake system" error light. Under the break system error 6 errors displayed they read : 1) adaptive cruise control problem 2) Lane keeping assist problem 3) collision mitigation system problem 4) Road departure mitigation system problem 5) auto-high beam problem 6) transmission system problem
Engine Stalling/Power Loss.
The car failed to start after stop at a traffic light. It happened few times. I replaced old battery with a new one. The problem still persists. Mechanic checked the battery health and found to be good.
I have received a rejected emission test due to the computer not updating. Honda demands 200 diagnosis for this. and I have read it reported several times to years 2019 - 2023
Vehicle: 2022 Honda Pilot Elite AWD Mileage at first occurrence: ~30,000 miles Current mileage at worsening/repeatability of issue: ~48,000 miles My 2022 Honda Pilot Elite experiences a loss of propulsion during cold starts, most commonly after using remote start. The issue occurs when the vehicle is cold, shifted into Drive, and remains stationary for approximately 10–15 seconds. Under these conditions, the vehicle displays the message “Stop driving when safe. Transmission problem. See manual,” disengages the transmission, and shifts itself into Neutral. The vehicle will not move until it is shut off and restarted. This condition has occurred multiple times and is repeatable under the same circumstances. There are no other warning lights present, and restarting the vehicle temporarily restores normal operation. I reported this issue to my Honda dealer. The dealer contacted Honda North America technical support, who stated they are aware of this exact issue and the specific sequence of events that causes it. Honda advised that they do not consider this behavior a defect and declined to provide any repair guidance or corrective action. This condition results in an unexpected loss of drive capability and could pose a safety risk if it occurs in traffic or at an intersection. The issue can occur during normal vehicle operation and does not involve misuse of the vehicle.
Lots of warning lights going off in car. Took it to the dealership and was told it’s the front camera and would cost over $2k to fix. Car is new, less than 5 years old. Should not be having this issue on a new car. After researching found there are lots of people with the same issue. Seems to me it’s a manufacturing issue and Honda should be responsible to fix.
Idle engine restart failed. The vehicle went in idle mode at stop light, whe I got green and moved feet off brake to acceleration the engine failed to restart. It happened on 2/3/2026. I turned on hazard light to alert other drivers I was in trouble. I kept getting message on dashboard to put car in park, press the brake and push engine start. It did not work for a while I stepped out of vehicle unlocked stepped back in then I could start the engine. The second occurrence was 2/7/2026. This was a major intersection. Same thing happened, situation lasted longer, traffic built up behind me I had to call 911, I step out the vehicle to open the hood in addition to having hazard light on for my safety. I tow truck came along. When he open vehicle and got in, the engine started. I was at dealership today 2/11/2026 they indicated no fault was found. While waiting for my appointment today I have been turning off the automatic idle feature every time I get in the car.
2022 Honda Pilot - steering wheel / front of car started to make a clanking noise when driving over speed bumps / noise started around 35k miles on odometer. Two different service appointments with Honda pointed to shocks and sway bar links; 3rd non honda service appointment found the issue to be a failing rack and pinion. 3rd service appointment replaced the rack and pinion / sound is gone and vehicle steers tight once again. mileage was 44k when replaced.
It is constantly breaking when cars are coming the other way. It almost caused a vehicle to almost hit me. Also the auto shut off has almost caused accidents because it causes my car to stall and I wish I could keep it off and not have to push the button off every time.
While driving on I-26 at 60 MPH at approximately 2PM on 01/08/2026 the sunroof exploded. It was not struck by anything, no other vehicle was within a half mile of us at the time. Fortunately the cover was closed because we do not use the sunroof. It has only been opened one time a the delership the day the car was delivered new. This sunroof explosion was loud and frankly scared the heck out of us. Had the cover not been kept closed we would have been showered by broken glass. This could have easley resulted in a driver panic and a crash. I feel this is a manufacturing defect and based on numbers of events through various Honda models and years should covered by Honda recall/warranty coverage.
Engine fails to restart on its own from a complete stop at a traffic light or road intersection with the Auto Idle Stop (AIS) function engaged. When I release the brake pedal, the vehicle automatically goes into neutral, and when I try to put into Drive, nothing happens, then it takes multiple attempts to turn the vehicle off. Once it turns off, it does turn back on, and I can continue driving. This behavior is hard to reproduce consistently, it's happening from time to time.
As I was traveling from Houma, La on a major highway to an out of state meeting. I started to hear a slight tapping sound and pulled over to inspect the sound. Upon inspection it seemed as though it was coming from the lower engine, or exhaust near the engine area. I located the nearest Honda dealership which was Community Honda of Lafayette with intentions of dealership inspection. It was approximately a 20 minute drive from the current location. As I was approaching the exit to the dealership the warning system lit up an check engine light. The Manager at the dealership took the vehicle to the back and ran a scan and responded that it sounds like an exhaust leak. I got back on the road for my destination. Approximately an hour later while I was on [XXX] all of the warning lights lit up at once, the engine jerked and shut off. I pulled over to inspect the vehicle again. I restarted the vehicle to work myself to a safe exit. The vehicle would not drive over 20mph. Once at a safe location I made concessions to have the vehicle carried back to my local Honda dealership, Barker Honda in Houma, La Upon inspection by the Honda technicians it was found to have irreparable damage to the engine internals. Technician states this could occur to low oil and/ or lack of maintenance; however, the technician was perplexed by the failure because all maintenance and records in their system showed that the vehicle was properly maintained by their staff. The ADAS camera has failed. It is extremely common. When it fails, all the lights for EVERY system of ADAS comes on. None of them work. And it is not possible to turn off. Furthermore it sets codes for the brakes and turns on the brake warning lights. So none of the brake assist systems work either. Honda refuses to warranty any of these systems when the camera fails. It is across their entire line of vehicles with ADAS. If they can’t build a functional system, it should not have the system. Also, the system functions extremely poorly, when it was operating. It will drive the vehicle, unassisted, down to 20 mph, then just shuts off and lets the vehicle coast, unguided. Also, if the cruise is set and lane keeping on, and it can’t find lane lines, particularly where lanes merge, it will often veer left, into oncoming traffic. I have tested both of these, when the system was functioning “correctly”. The cruise and lane keeping just shuts off, at any speed, and lets the car go where ever it would without input. It is extremely dangerous.
Every since I purchased my 2022 Honda Pilot, I have had soo many issues with the windshield chipping. I bought the car brand new. Within the first 6 months, I had a chip at the top right corner (passenger side) the ended up cracking all the way to the edge. I had to replace the windshield. Fast forward to within a year of the new windshield being in place, and I know have FOUR chips. All on the passenger side. Two near the bottom and two near the top right. I have asked Honda several times if there are issues with the windshields, and they claim there is not. I have asked about having my frame checked to make sure it wasn't a manufacturing issue, but have not, since they need the windshield off to look. I have been driving for over 20 years. I have NEVER had a chip in my windshield. I even had a 2018 Pilot - 0 issues.
Car alarm going off randomly when locked. When car is near fob and turned off the head unit will randomly turn on and off rapidly, appears to be a smart power module failure. This has been going on intermittently since 50k miles. Most recently today, I had to disconnect the battery to make it stop.
The contact owns a 2022 Honda Pilot. The contact stated that the entertainment system was blank and had shut down. The message “My Map Off” was displayed. The vehicle was restarted, and the rearview camera was inoperable. The contact linked the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V431000 (Back Over Prevention). The local dealer was contacted, but the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and assisted with resetting the system. The failure mileage was approximately 24,000.
245 /50 R20 : size My dealership told me I needed to change all my tires and provided pics showing pieces of my tires (3 tires) missing. This was present in all 3 of the original tires- same dot and sizes. The 4th tire has already been replaced. My Honda pilot mileage is 29000 miles, purchased new in November 2021. My pilot is garage parked and is not often exposed to the elements for long periods of time.
My vehicle multipurpose camera unit failed. The entire advanced driver assistance system shut down and stopped working. This error randomly appeared. My vehicle has 48,000 miles on it. I received error codes for each of the components that they were not working. This meant no adaptive cruise control, no automatic emergency braking, no blind spot warning, no forward collision warning, no lane departure warning, no lane keeping assistance, no parking collision warning, no rear cross traffic warning. My safety was put at risk as the components that provide safety warnings were not operative. I took the car to my Honda service shop and they provided the following diagnostic: [Other]: Verify customer concern that theirs multiple lights on on the vehicle, then check for codes notice theirs code for U3000-49 multipurpose camera unit/ millimeter wave radar internal electric failure. Then disconnect one of the connectors for sensor to single one out to see if when clear the code to see if stays on or not, after clearing the code lights still came on and code pop on. Recommend start first replacing with a new multi purpose camera, and retest. I paid for the repair as it needs fixed for safety purposes. The cost was $1,950.00. Honda should be responsible for covering this as it is some type of camera malfunction and the vehicle is only 3 years old.
All the sudden the lights in dash went off reading lane keep assist failure, adaptive cruise control failure, and automatic brake system failure. Nothing was working, lights stayed on, took to auto body shop, they said I need a whole new front windshield camera and for it be recalibrated, that will cost more than $2000. Honda is saying this isn’t under warranty or recall but it seems like it keeps happening to many Hondas when you look up the same problem so it should be a recall.
The contact owns a 2022 Honda Pilot. The contact stated that while driving and turning in either direction, there was a clicking and squeaking sound coming from the steering column, and the steering wheel was difficult to turn. The vehicle was taken to the local mechanic, who was unable the identify the cause of the failure. The local dealer and manufacturer were notified of the failure, but no assistance was offered. The contact was informed that the vehicle was not included in the extended coverage or recall related to the failure. The failure mileage was 58,900.
When I started my 2022 Honda Pilot Special Edition (VIN: [XXX] ) in a parking lot, the vehicle immediately behaved abnormally. As I attempted to turn into a space, the car unexpectedly accelerated and moved in an unintended direction. Despite pressing the brake pedal firmly, neither the standard brakes nor the automatic braking system responded. Shifting into Park did not stop the vehicle, and the transmission did not engage to hold the car. The vehicle continued moving through the parking lot, striking property and other vehicles. The entire event felt like a loss of braking and control, with both the brake system and gear selector failing to function as intended. This was a sudden and dangerous incident that could have caused serious injury. The Honda dealer has confirmed there are no open recalls or campaigns for my VIN, but the event aligns with reports of unintended acceleration and brake failure in other 2022 Honda Pilot vehicles. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
While driving my car braked, would not drive and a warning for transmission presented on warning board. The vehicle would not shift into park, reverse, neutral, or drive. I could not move it from impeding traffic. It nice I factory reset the vehicle was fine again.
The auto stop - start when idle shuts off the vehicle and then does not auto start when lifting off the brake. This has happened 3 times on the road and is incredibly dangerous as you are left immobile until you are able to wait and restart the engine manually
The camera on the windshield fails when then the windshield gets too hot when you are driving and causes the safety systems to stop functioning ( lane assist, blind spot, etc). See attached pictures. This is a major design flaw and Honda should recall and replace the cameras on all 2022 Honda pilots. I live in the desert in El Paso, Texas and this happens when you are driving . See my attached pictures that occurred at 83 degrees and 93 degrees, respectively. Please help me before there is a fatal injury.
The contact owns a 2022 Honda Pilot. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the instrument cluster failed to function as intended. The contact stated that the instrument cluster displayed a black screen, and no safety features were displayed. The contact stated that the failure was intermittent. In addition, the contact noticed an unusual popping sound. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic; however, the vehicle was not diagnosed. The independent mechanic unofficially diagnosed the failure as faulty cables. The contact was advised to take the vehicle to the dealer for diagnostic testing. The dealer was made aware of the failure. The contact was advised to bring the vehicle in for diagnostic testing and provided the fee for the diagnostic test. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired by an independent mechanic or dealer. The contact was informed that the repair was not covered under warranty. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure, and a case was filed. The contact referenced an unknown recall which had a similar failure description; however, the VIN was not included in the recall. The contact was informed that the repair was not covered under a recall or special program. The failure mileage was approximately 40,000.
Sunroof exploded while driving at a normal rate of speed with no cars surrounding us. Upon inspection, there was no debris within the roof hold that would denote a rock or something causing incident. We jumped a lane but no cars were around. All occupants were safe.
At a stop light and the car shifted to neutral and lost power, had to restart car. This happened twice, once on a busy road and we were almost rear-ended. Took the car to dealership they said the only thing they could find was that it needed a new battery. Changed battery and has not happened since. They said that likely the battery did not have enough power to power the auto stop/start feature so when I stopped the car lost power. I had no indication that the battery was low and never had a car with a low battery lose power in the middle of traffic. I feel like this is bad design and a potential safety hazard.
Vehicle hatch door window seal and door seal allowed water to collect inside the door. When the door was later opened, the water that collected in the door rushed inside the vehicle and began leaking heavily from behind the interior trim panels at the rear of the vehicle near the hatch door opening.
Problem with Auto idle stop mechanism. There was an event of no restart after the auto start/stop engaged. There have been several issues with it over time. For a while it cut out completely until we got a new car battery. Especially in the past 3 weeks the car has hesitated to start after a stop. Then, yesterday, [XXX] it failed to start creating a traffic hazard. We were at a red light and once green, I removed my foot from the brake and it would not start. Traffic was approaching behind us and it was a dangerous situation. It was stressful for me, the driver as well. After putting the car into several gears and pressing the start button twice, it eventually started. A display messages appeared only when the car would not start. I believe it said to put the car into neutral. If the car failed to start, it would have been stuck at a major intersection posing danger to ourselves and fellow drivers. Previously, when the feature stopped working, we reported the issue to our local Honda dealer and they did not offer a solution but said there are a number of factors that could cause it to not operate. We didn't mind it wasn't working because we loathe it. Later we purchased a new battery and it started working again. Also previous to [XXX], we updated the software system. We were aware that there was an update for this issue. To ensure we have the update, I checked it again, today, 8-10-2025 and our software was up to date. We (my wife and I) were so alarmed by yesterday's operat
The foreward collision warning is too sensitive and the alert message and steering wheel shaking are distracting. Especially driving on a two lane road, the forward collision messages occurs under normal driving situations. Simply a vehicle approaching in their lane in the opposite direction triggers the warning. You get a large orange box popping up on the dash screen which diverts your attention from the road to the screen. It's an obnoxious panic message. Also, the steering wheel shakes to alert you, which startles you. I fear the mechanism could malfunction and take over steering and cause an accident. I know how to drive and I don't need the absurd "assistance". I submitted another report for the auto idle problem. These driver assist things are horrid. They don't enhance the driving experience and seem to be items that unnecessarily tack on to the cost of purchasing a vehicle. We have complained to the Honda dealer and car mechanics about these matters. Regarding Forward Collision Warning, no resolution was provided. This is an ongoing problem and so an approximate date below is not applicable. Thank you Thank you.

As I understand it from a law firm, other Honda Pilot owners have filed complaints with the NHTSA the following which is an EXACT description of what is occurring on our Pilot. Ref: 25V-031. Our problem is that there is about a “2-5 second hesitation” or “delay in acceleration” where the engine seems to “bog down for a few seconds before it ‘kicks in’ and then there is a ‘surge of power.’” This surge of power causes a rapid acceleration where the vehicle “jumps forward at a rapid rate.” I took this to Honda two years ago after we first purchased it and they said that "All vehicles are made this way now." This has proven "very dangerous" when trying to do a 3-point turn or a u-turn in traffic. I'd be happy to demonstrate this with someone if they want to ride along so they can see for themselves. I checked your site but it says there aren't any recalls for my vehicle. Problem is, Honda told me the same thing two years ago so if it isn't on your site, appears that it isn't a problem for them. Please help look into this before someone in my family or someone else's gets hurt.
USB port fail and wireless charger failure
Case 11655023 Hello, I need your help. I spoke with Honda and was told they would buy back my truck and someone would contact me. Mrs. Briana called and said I had to keep taking the truck to the mechanic as many times as needed. I explained I had already taken it 8–9 times, but she said it didn’t matter and that I should take it to another dealer. I had already gone to the Mission Valley dealership, showed the mechanic photos and videos, and he agreed something was wrong. I left the truck for 3–4 days, but they only changed the start button. I asked about the brakes, which were making noise, and was told it was “normal.” I insisted on getting them fixed, but they said if parts weren’t broken, Honda wouldn’t replace them. I spoke to the manager, who drove the truck with me and said they would adjust the brakes and fix the faulty fuel sensor. I brought it back on Wednesday, received a service receipt, but when I tried to leave, the truck wouldn’t start. I showed the manager a video of the issue, and he said they would fix it. I returned on Wednesday, left the truck again, and on Thursday a worker called saying the truck had no issues. I reminded them the manager had promised repairs, and they said he would call me. On Friday, I was told the truck had “bad luck,” nothing was wrong, and I should pick it up — or go to another Honda if I wasn’t satisfied.

Auto Start/Stop failing to start back up creating a safety problem.
So this started as a loss of power when traveling down the highway, i would push down on the accelerator to pass and loss of power for at least 2 to 5 seconds. Now it is happening more frequent with normal driving. I believe this to be a safety problem.

NHTSA publishes every complaint as the owner wrote it and investigates only a fraction. Spelling, capitalisation and judgement are the filer’s own. What carries weight is repetition: the same component failing the same way across many filings, and whether the manufacturer eventually opened a recall for it.
