MY ABS & all related braking lights on dash display pop up every now & then, on & off, & is not on permanently full time. Mechanic said it could be the module. I heard it last week on the radio about this Honda issue & said it was a safety & braking issue. I don’t see it on the recall list, but people with a 2013 Accord has many complaints about it on YouTube web & various searches. This should be a recall & what are we supposed to do about this safety defect?

My 2013 Honda Accord touring with 110,000 miles all of a sudden all the lights on the dash came on. I took it to the dealer. The dealer told me that the electronic control module or the vehicle stability control module was bad. At that time, the dealer could not get the part and at that time, the part was $1400so a year later. when I had the money I went to get the car fixed at that point the part was $2600. It cost me $3500 to get the vehicle repaired. It was not under warranty. There was no recall and I was left holding the bag I have found there are many cases of the same part going bad and Honda refuses to accept responsibility, leaving us owners out in the cold.

I am reporting a critical safety issue with the Vehicle Stability Assist (VSA) modulator in my 2013 Honda Accord Ex. The VSA modulator has failed, causing significant safety concerns, including erratic braking behavior, a complete loss of anti-lock braking (ABS) functionality, and compromised stability control. Only after avoiding near collision while driving on I5 freeway the failure illuminated various dashboard warning lights, such as the ABS light, VSA light, and brake system warning light. This failure has placed me, my passengers, and other road users at risk, especially with the stop and go traffic of rush hour. Luckily it was sunny clear weather because if there was even slight wet or slippery conditions I'm certain the harm would have been disastrous. -Known Technical Causes: Failure of internal solenoids or valves in the VSA modulator unit. Corrosion or damage to electronic components within the modulator. Malfunctioning sensors associated with the ABS and stability systems. -Repair Details: Replacement of the VSA modulator unit is often necessary. Cost of repair typically ranges between $2,000 and $3,000. Many owners report delays in repairs due to part availability. -Reports and Complaints: Numerous complaints can be found on forums, owner groups, and repair sites detailing identical failures in 2013–2017 Honda Accords. Commonly reported safety risks include increased stopping distances and difficulty maintaining control on slippery roads. Honda’s Response: Some o

On December 10, 2024, while driving at approximately 45 mph on State Street, my vehicle suddenly lost all power and stalled. The dashboard lights went out, and there were no prior warning indicators. Thankfully, I was able to coast safely off the road and restart the vehicle after it stalled. Before this incident, I had experienced multiple occasions when my car took unusually long to start. When pressing the gas pedal, the vehicle struggled to accelerate, feeling like it had no power. On December 26, 2024, I received an email stating that certain 2013–2023 Honda Accords might be subject to a recall due to a faulty fuel pump. However, after checking my specific VIN, I found no active recalls listed for my vehicle. Given the issues I have been experiencing over the past year—including stalling and power loss—I believe my vehicle may be affected by the same faulty fuel pump issue. I am filing this complaint to document that the identified fuel pump issue may affect more vehicles from these model years.

While driving my 2013 Honda Accord sedan on the turnpike, I experienced a critical failure of the Vehicle Stability Assist (VSA) modulator, which was later inspected and confirmed to be malfunctioning by a Honda service technician at South Motors Honda. This component is available for inspection upon request. As I was traveling at approximately 65 mph, the ABS (Anti-lock Braking System) malfunctioned, causing the brakes to lock up when I attempted to slow down for traffic ahead. This sudden loss of braking control put my safety and the safety of others at significant risk, as I nearly collided with the vehicle in front of me. The problem has been reproduced and confirmed by an independent service center. The vehicle has not been inspected by the manufacturer, police, or insurance representatives. Prior to the failure, several warning lamps, including the VSA, ABS, and BRAKE lights, illuminated on the dashboard. These warning lights first appeared about a week before the incident, but I was unable to get the vehicle serviced immediately due to scheduling constraints. Additionally, the Front Collision Warning system was not functioning, which further compromised my ability to avoid a potential accident. This malfunction was particularly concerning as it failed to alert me to the rapidly approaching vehicle ahead, exacerbating the dangerous situation caused by the ABS failure.

We were driving on the highway when the vehicle began stalling and failed to accelerate. We pulled onto the shoulder and all of the lights on the dash were on "Check engine, Electric Power Steering light, and low fuel light: The vehicle had half a tank of gas, so it was not a low fuel issue. After a few attempts the car finally started again and began to pick up power. My neighbor who is a certified Acura mechanic, used his diagnostic tool and the error code P0087 popped up indicating a drop in fuel rail/system pressure. This is the first time this has happened to this vehicle. We have serviced it regularly at our local Honda dealer since we purchased the vehicle. We see that there is an active recall for the exact issue we experienced NHTSA RECALL NUMBER:23V-858, however, our VIN number was not included in that for some reason. We feel strongly that the issue is indicative and matches that recall campaign and are requesting this recall be investigated and expanded.

I believe my vehicle should be included in a recall (Safety Recall: 2013-15 Accord Driveshaft Inspection) that it is not currently included in. This is a major safety concern that the recall may not include all affected vehicles including mine. What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? Right driveshaft snapped while I was driving rendering the vehicle without propulsion, as well as allowing the vehicle to roll while in Park How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? This occurred while I was driving and I lost the ability to move the vehicle. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? Yes the Honda dealership confirmed the driveshaft snapped. Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? I have a picture of the snapped driveshaft and the Honda dealership inspected it and provided me with a description of the issue. Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? There were no warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure.

In 2022 while driving, my steering wheel became very difficult to turn. It felt as if the power steering quit altogether. All of the safety lights came on at once (brake, anti-skid, steering, etc.). After stopping, it was very difficult to turn the wheel. Not only was it frightening but I would not have been able to swerve or turn suddenly if needed. The Honda dealership believed at first it was a sensor, which was replaced. The problem quickly returned. This time the dealership replaced the entire steering rack. Two years later, the problem appears to be returning. All safety/warning lights have come on and there are moments when steering "stiffens up" but so far it has not completely gone out.

The fuel pump on my 2013 honda accord went out. Ive taken the vehicle to the honda dealer multiple times to get it diagnosed and they keep telling me its the high pressure fuel pump and once replaced my car will run smoothly.NOT the case ive replaced it more than 6 times, my car still stalls and turns off at random so im unable to drive the vehicle. it starts and drives but you have to look at the rpms while driving, if i go over 2000 rpms itll stall. when the issue first started i was at a redlight when the vehicle stalled, thankfully no one was around me since it was late but had there been traffic my car would have been hit. i have 2 children and I cant and will not put them in that car knowing it has a problem no one is willing to take a deep dive into. Due to this issue multiple lights on the dash are on and wont go off until the problem is fixed.

When we drive the car, there is a problem with the power steering that causes the steering wheel to over-steer, which makes the car jerk to one side or the other without warning, which makes the car veer into other lanes. There is something wrong with the electric power steering. Every time I drive my steering wheel pulls to the left so if I let go of the steering wheel the steering wheel will pull to the left and could potentially cause a car crash and while driving and difficulty steering (either steering feeling too firm or too loose). This is happening without the electric power steering warning light being illuminated. I do not feel safe.

When overtaking a car on a one lane highway, the engine suddenly started to sputter and the steering felt unstable, and a few seconds later, four engine lights turned on (Malfunction Indicator Lamp, Vehicle Stability Assist System Indicator, Electric Power Steering System Indicator, Low Tire Pressure/TPMS Indicator). I was able to drive the car to an auto shop, where their mechanics did a diagnosis and found codes P0087, 83-11, 61-11, 85-01. While cycling through the codes all lights turned off, so they advised that I could continue to drive the car as is. A few weeks later, the same problem happened when I was driving on the highway. This time, I could not push the car past 2500 RPM, rendering the car unable to exceed 55mph on the highway. I was able to drive the car to a Honda dealership. I was stopped at a stop light. The light turned green and I started to go. My car had a major issue and was stuck in traffic. I had to push the vehicle out of traffic with the assistance of the Police Department. My vehicle was not operable. After an investigation into the issue, the Driver front axle broke in in half. No lights or prior indicators existed before the incident. Repairs have been made and this issue has caused damage to the other axle. Both have been replaced by authorized repair shops. I continue to have a “wobbling” issue while accelerating. I did go to a Honda dealership for the balance issue. They did say it is common for the axle to break and there was a recall for my Make/ Model and Year that I did not qualify for. Paperwork is attached. On [XXX], my CV axle broke. I was stopped at a stoplight and when the light turned green, I stepped on the accelerator, then heard a VERY loud “clunk” and my car didn’t move. I shifted into all of the other gears, but it didn’t move. I shifted it into Park and called AAA. They dispatched a tow truck driver, who arrived about 45 minutes later. He engaged the emergency brake, after checking under the car and informing me that the driver’s side CV axle had broken, which prevents the car from actually being able to shift into Park. He towed the car to an independent mechanic. Both the tow truck driver and the mechanic said it’s quite uncommon for a CV axle to break. I was about 1/2 mile from getting on the freeway and luckily I didn’t make it that far, because it could have been much worse during rush hour traffic. As it was, I was blocking a lane of traffic at the stoplight. I have both pieces of the driver’s side CV axle in my possession. No one other than the tow truck driver and mechanic have inspected it, yet. I had no warning at all that the axle was about to break. While doing some online research to find out the likelihood of the passenger side CV axle breaking, I came across a recall notice for the drive shaft of certain 2013-2015 Accords in salt belt states.
