Defect. Great Dane Trailers (Great Dane) is recalling certain 2027 Champion and Everest van trailers. The trailer landing gear k-brace welds may fail, resulting in the landing gear collapsing.
Risk. A trailer landing gear that collapses increases the risk of injury.
Remedy. Great Dane will inspect and replace the landing gear k-brace as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed December 22, 2026. Owners may contact Great Dane's customer service at 1-877-369-3493.
Defect. Great Dane Trailers (Great Dane) is recalling certain 2027 Champion dry van trailers. The upper coupler may have an incorrect bottom plate installed. The kingpin may protrude, preventing the trailer from coupling properly.
Risk. An improperly coupled trailer may detach, increasing the risk of a crash.
Remedy. Owners are advised not to use their trailers until the repair is completed. Great Dane will inspect and replace the upper coupler assembly as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed December 4, 2026. Owners may contact Great Dane's customer service at 1-877-369-3493.
Defect. Great Dane Trailers (Great Dane) is recalling certain 2027 Champion dry van trailers The trailers may have been produced without the installation of the rear impact guard extension channels. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 224, "Rear Impact Protection."
Risk. A rear impact guard that is not properly installed can increase the risk of injury during a crash.
Remedy. Dealers will install the rear impact guard extension channels, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed September 3, 2026. Owners may contact Great Dane's customer service at 1-877-369-3493.
