My engine failed while I was driving & I had no warning. It was very scary & dangerous. Luckily I was in an area where I could get off the road quickly. It started skipping then lost power. I basically coasted off the road & had to call for help. It was making a bad knocking noise. This happened 2 weeks ago on April 16. It has been sitting at Glynn Smith.GMC dealership since. I was told by the service manager that the engine failed & I will need a new engine. the engines are on back order now. I fear they will replace it with the same problem. I see the recall this week but will changing the oil viscosity really fix it?? Doubtful. Someone is going to get killed or hurt from this problem. I do not want the same issue to happen with a new engine.

The contact owns a 2023 GMC Yukon. The contact stated that the vehicle failed to reverse as needed. The contact stated that the transmission was stuck in neutral. The contact stated that while driving 35 MPH, the transmission was slipping. There were no warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was towed to the local dealer, where it was diagnosed and determined that the valve body needed to be replaced. The dealer informed the contact that parts were on backorder. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was contacted, and a claim was filed. The failure mileage was approximately 72,000.
On March 28, my 2023 Yukon Denali stalled on a 4 lane road forcing me to make an emergency stop on the side of the road in a right hand turn lane. The vehicle required towing to a local GMC dealership. They could not restart the vehicle and upon evaluation found metal shavings in the oil. They have recommended an engine replacement. There was no warning, it just stalled and would not restart. My Yukon remains at the dealership and we are still waiting for an engine.
Liftgate Opening without pushing the button, it just randomly opens.
While driving on the mass pike with my fiancé and 4 kids our motor suddenly died. We were using cruise control going 75mph and the vehicle shifted into neutral itself and the car died. I managed to make it to a break down lane and we had to sit there for 2.5 hours before a tow showed up to help. The dealership said the motor seized and we were under the 60K for warranty and it was covered. They got us a rental the next day and then on the 3rd day they called and said it was lack of oil changes that caused it and they asked if i had records of service history. We bought the vehicle used and only had the vehicle long enough to perform 1 oil change. We did our oil change on time and I'm trying to locate service records from the dealership we bought it from. However there were no signs of dark and contaminated oil when i did the oil change at my shop and also no sounds or warnings coming from the vehicle prior to the motor seizing up. I think they are trying to get out of paying for the motor when its clearly a known problem with these 6.2l engines.
The evening of Tuesday [XXX] driving from College Station, TX to Pasadena TX my GMC 2023 GMC Yukon starting making a clicking noise but no warning lights. For about an hour the noise persisted louder and softer and the check engine light would flash 3 times then stop, for a while then flash again. I did notice that when applying gas I didn't get the normal increase in acceleration but I couldn't tell if it was a power issue or a transmission issue. I was traveling about 60mph on a freeway thankfully in the right lane the vehicle suddenly shut off with no warning. I had no power, brakes did work and I could steer and I was able to make it to the area between the main lanes of the freeway and the lane of an onramp. Once stopped I attempted to restart the vehicle and nothing happened. We were stuck. Onstar was contacted and a tow to a dealership was arranged. A sheriff deputy stationed his vehicle behind us to provide protection until the tow truck arrived. The vehicle is now at a GCM dealer and I have been told the engine has locked up and needs a complete replacement. I have no other information in those regards. There is a long back order for new engines and the estimate is at 4 weeks. I did see the check engine light flash 3 times and then go off for a while then start again, but we were no where close to home and it was somewhat late at night. I also had coworkers in the vehicle taking them back to our office. At this point this is as much as I know but thankfully i was alr
I was driving approximately 45 MPH and my 2023 Yukon STOPPED completely and it would not move at all, it stopped just into where the intersection starts. After 2 hours it was towed to the GMC dealership. I am now told that it needs a new engine at just 15,000 miles. Apparently this is a “thing” I had no warning whatsoever. The dealership has it now and it is waiting on a new engine. Extremes scary and now they said they will put a new one in and it “shouldn’t happen again”. Ridiculous Engines are on back order for at least 60 days because of this problem I’m told.
Engine shut off twice driving down the highway at 70 mph. Electronics completely shut down then started back up, engine shifted to neutral and wouldn't let me shift out of it. Pulled over to shoulder and restarted engine. Took to Ewing GMC and no issue was found, vehicle was returned. A week later, exact same thing, but this time engine would not restart. Had to be towed to dealership. Engine is blown and have been waiting on a replacement for 3 weeks currently. This is an extremely dangerous issue, people will die from this if it is not corrected. Even once I get the vehicle back, I'm concerned about my family's safety while driving it.
I was sitting at a stop light and my vehicle completely failed without any warning. Was not able to start, etc. it was completely dead. There was no notice of issues or problems; no messages, no lights, etc. The vehicle had to be towed to a dealer and has been sitting for over 5 weeks waiting for a new motor. I was told that there is no timeline for when a new motor will be available and that it could be months! I travel with my vehicle for work so it is really needed!
[XXX] [XXX] [XXX] April 17th, 2025 Spearfish Cadillac Attn: [Service Manager or General Manager] North Main Spearfish, SD 57783 Subject: Engine Failure and Safety Concerns – 2023 GMC Denali Ultimate (6.2L V8) Before ordering my 2023 GMC Denali Ultimate (MSRP $96,000), I raised concerns about online reports of engine problems with the 6.2L V8. I was assured by your staff that there were no known issues with this engine and that I had nothing to worry about. However, within the first year of ownership, I began reading verified reports about widespread engine failures involving this same 6.2L engine across various GM models. I contacted your dealership again and was told that my vehicle’s VIN did not indicate any problem or need for replacement. Since that time, I have experienced two severe engine failures, both at highway speeds of approximately 80 mph. Each failure caused my vehicle to abruptly shut down and lurch into a different lane of traffic—creating traumatic and extremely dangerous situations for both myself and surrounding drivers. In addition, I encountered another instance in which the engine would not start. A stranger helped me jump-start the vehicle on two separate occasions. Believing the issue could be battery-related, I replaced the battery (which was less than three years old), only to suspect later that the engine may have partially locked up. I am formally requesting the following: A written response confirming whether a replacement engine has been or will
Approximately 14’000 miles we were told a rod went through the engine. Our vehicle failed at a high rate of speed leaving myself, wife, and 2 young children to pull off a major highway and call for police to help slow traffic. This happened while driving 70 mph on the highway. The only warning we received was when the car went from “D” drive to “N” neutral on the highway. Fortunately, we had enough time to pull to the side of the road before complete engine failure. GMC road side was not helpful. We were told we would have to find a ride home over an hour away, and when our ride arrived, so did the tow truck. Then, they had to drag the vehicle onto the flatbed because the tow truck company did not have the unlocking device for the wheels. Upon getting it to our house, the tow truck company had to rock our vehicle off the bed! We were not able to tow it where we purchased it. We either had to tow it to the nearest GM dealer or our house. We chose our house because the nearest GM dealer from where we broke down would've been over an hour away from our house. Our second engine failed 2200 miles later while my wife was sitting at a light in a busy intersection. The car again went from “D” to “N,” and it was immovable. The cops had to be called because the tow company couldn’t come fast enough. We were towed out of the intersection, but I waited over 5 hours with several dropped tows for a tow company. That occurred on my birthday. We are now on our third engine, and GMC wouldn’t
We own a 2023 GMC Yukon Denali with the 6.2L engine. On [XXX], I was driving to work and merging into traffic on [XXX] just south of Nashville. When getting up to speed, the engine shut off and the truck started to decelerate. Only warning light was notification to "Hit Start Button" - which off course I was feverously doing as I was in rush-hour traffic. Luckily, I was able to move across two lanes and came to a stop on the freeway shoulder. Called OnStar services where they sent a tow truck, but the driver didn't know how to tow the truck since he was unable to shift into 'neutral' as the electronic system didn't allow that without the motor on. A second tow truck was sent by my local dealer and then they had to 'drag' the Yukon onto the tow truck bed so they could haul it. After the dealer reviewed the issue, determined we needed an entire motor as the engine oil had metal shavings in it and had frozen the motor. We are one of seven vehicles at our dealership waiting on a new 6.2L motor. GM has provided a large SUV rental during the time we have been waiting. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
GM diagnosis was lower engine failure
The Onstar module becomes inoperable due to a fault with the onstar module. This is a known issue on many forums and GM has yet to issue a fix with mass reported Onstar module failures. This fault renders useless the safety systems.
Car suddenly stopped while traveling. Shut down. Took to dealership and they said it’s a catastrophic engine failure.
WHILE DRIVING ON HIGHWAY ON 2/21/25. MY 2023 YUKON (WITH GM ENGINE L87 IN IT) WARNING LIGHT CAME ON CALLING THAT THE TRUCK SHIFTED INTO NEUTRAL, PRESS START. PULLED OVER TO BREAK DOWN LANE, RESTARTED AND WENT ON OUR WAY. CALLED DEALERSHIP AND THEY HAVE NOT HEARD OF ANY TYPE OF ISSUE AND STATED TO BRING BY IF IT HAPPENS AGAIN. 8 DAYS LATER THE 2023 YUKON WITH GM ENGINE L87 SIEZED ON 3/1/25 WITH ~23,000 ON IT WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY. VECHIE WAS TOWED TO GMC DEALERSHIP WHERE THE SUV WAS PURCHASED AND HAS BEEN SITTING EVER SINCE WHILE WE WAIT FOR A NEW ENGINE COME IN. DEALER HAS BEEN HELPFUL, BUT I HAVE READ THAT THERE IS A BIGGER ISSUE WTH THE L87 ENGINE.
This vehicle had a complete engine failure. We lost power and could not start it. We were stranded on a busy highway. This all happened going 65 mph. The dealer told us that we would need a complete engine replacement. We had about 16,500 miles on it. I personally know two other people that this has happened too.
Looks like this is a ongoing issue with my vehicles engine. The truck has 40k miles on it and the entire engine blew.
My engine blew up while merging onto the interstate. The vehicle completely shut down. A few minutes prior I could tell there was an issue but until that moment there were no warning lights or issues that could be detected. Vehicle has been at the GMC dealership almost a month waiting for a new engine that is currently on back order
New Denali less then 1 year old had lifter problems and needed lifters replaced and a camshaft. Started knocking while driving on the highway and tough to travel 4 lanes to get off the road. This is a serious issue.Very concerned because of widespread problems. I hope NHTSA does the same thing they did with Kia regarding the 2.o turbo engines. My last car was a Sorento 2.o turbo with defective engine. Kia agreed to a lifetime warranty for that failure. Luckily they did because mine failed and they replaced the engine. Once replaced I bought the Yukon. Bame similar issue. I hope a settlement included lifetime warranty. The contact owns a 2023 GMC Yukon. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V674000 (Service Brakes, Hydraulic); however, the dealer refused to perform the recall repair because the vehicle had a Salvage Title. The contact stated that the dealer would repair the vehicle but only if he paid out-of-pocket for the repair. The contact stated that the dealer had exceeded their authority in declining to complete the recall repair. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure. Parts distribution disconnect.
Driving 75 mph on [XXX]. No power under gas pedal. Transmission shifted on its own to neutral and there were no lights warning on the dash. Yes my safety and that of 3 children ([XXX, XXX, and [XXX] ) as well as my mother [XXX] ) and my wife [XXX] ) were all put at risk. I had no way to accelerate or warning from the vehicle that the engine had failed. It just so happened my wife noticed it was in neutral and luckily I had room to get from the left lane to the shoulder where the speed limit is 75 mph. Dash information center said "Press start to restart vehicle". I pulled off safely to the shoulder with 7 passengers (including myself). Tried to restart the car but it was no working. The vehicle wouldn't shut off the electrical accessories either and kept repeating the same warning. The vehicle was inspected at the dealer after it was towed. There were no warning lights or signs of any issues prior to this incident. Had the vehicle for less than 2 years and under 19k miles. GM towed the vehicle to the dealership who held it for the weekend and then Monday afternoon told me the engine was blown. I was not offered a comparable vehicle under their warranty to replace it and was told I need to wait an unknown amount of time to get the vehicle back on the road as all engines are on back order. We were driving our 2023 GMC Yukon AT4 from Phoenix, Arizona to Flagstaff, Arizona, which is about 2.5 hours north. A few hours into our drive, about 40 miles away from Flagstaff, as we were driving ~75mph on the [XXX] highway (in the middle of nowhere), all of the sudden our GMC just stopped working - it started slowing down on its own, put itself into Neutral, and nothing was working. We were able to pull over to the side of the road where we used OnStar to reach GMC Service, who called us a tow truck. As we were on with OnStar we tried restarting the vehicle and nothing was responsive. For hours our family, two adults and one child, were stuck on the side of the [XXX] highway with semi-trucks flying by us waiting for the tow truck. We were then told the two truck could only fit two persons, so I had to order my own Uber to pickup myself and my son in the middle of nowhere, leaving my husband to wait alone, dangerously, for the tow truck. Important to note a major winter storm was coming in this afternoon, so with no power it was also freezing cold in the broken down vehicle. The GMC was towed to the Chevy dealer/service center in Flagstaff, who was able to have a mechanic look at the vehicle that day. After a few hours they contacted us and let us know the entire engine blew and would need to be replaced. They let us know this is a "known issue" with certain Chevy/GMC/Cadillac SUV's that have the 6.2 engine. We purchased this vehicle brand new in late 2023 - at the time of
Nuna is not responding to customers questions or concerns adequately. They continue to just send you to their recall page. Complaints are as follows: - They also aren't honoring their warranty and replacing or repairing carseats still under warranty. - This recall is also causing damage to other components of the carseat (such as the strap - fraying, other use issues) that Nuna is not addressing. - It took Nuna over 4 months to send out the repair kit. After I contacted them, not vice versa. - The recall replacement seat cushions are extremely difficult to get on the seats, not color matched (the main reason this matters is because customers paid higher prices for various colors and they aren't being made whole financially). This is clearly not a universal fit for all year models. Even adult men are struggling to get these cushions on the chair by pulling them incredibly hard to fit. -Their carseats associated with the recall are failing at random, not in predictable replicable ways. I've had several instances where a child was strapped in and tightened only to find the straps completely loosened as the destination. The variables of child weight in the seat and movement are not being factored into the safety tests associated with this recall. You are testing an empty seat completely cinched down - not realistic to everyday conditions when in use. -Once you repair the carseat it's difficult to get everything lined up perfect to know the button is functioning exactly as designe
While driving on the highway, engine suddenly shut down, no warnings or alarms were noticed, during the last engine start or during driving, engine is not able to start again, even after trying to jump it, all electronics respond
Engine seized up entirely while driving causing catastrophic damage that requires a whole new motor.
I was traveling on the highway when my 2023 Yukon Denali engine shut off and switched to the neutral gear with any warnings. The dashboard display read "press start again" as I coasted to the shoulder of the highway. I was able to put the vehicle in "park" and re-start the engine after a couple of tries. I got a couple miles down the road, got off on an exit ramp then it shut off again and I again coasted to the shoulder of the highway. Again the display read "press start again", but this time the vehicle would NOT restart at all. I had full electrical power in the vehicle during both engine failures. I had the vehicle towed to my local GMC dealership. The dealership told me that I needed a new engine after assessing the vehicle.
The contact owns a 2023 GMC Yukon. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle inadvertently lost motive power. The contact pulled over to the shoulder of the roadway, where the vehicle was able to be restarted. The contact became aware that the vehicle had entered LIMP Mode. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who was unable duplicate the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 44,000.
Engine had catastrophic failure, engine shut down with no warning while driving at highway speed. Huge vehicle safety concern.
The Telematics control module became defective and could not communicate with the BCM and serial data gateway module, causing a check engine light, loss of ONSTAR communications, clock, navigation, and remote vehicle-to-app communication. This part was known to be defective by GM. GM replaced the part starting in 2021 on Escalade models but not others. Service update # N212331730. The TCM became defective less than 24 months after purchase. The dealer stated the vehicle was over mileage for the warranty. The total repair cost was $1846, of which $1110 was labor. Replacement of the TCM was required to clear the check engine light.
I was with my entire family 3 hours from home on a ski trip loaded with gear and the motor decided to go. i had to pull into an abandoned lot, leave my family in a car with no heat, walk 6 miles up a mountain to get another vehicle and pick up the family. Then i had to call a local tow company to drive out pick up the vehicle and myself and drive 3 hours home drop the vehicle at the dealer and then myself at home. The vehicle was not even pulled in for 2 weeks to be looked at (no other vehicle was available) and then they told us the motor was shot - lifters cam and other things and that the head gasket was on back order indefinitly. This happened the beginning of February its now March 6, the vehicle is in pieces at the dealer with no time frame of when we can get it back. Meanwhile its costing me 1670$/ mo plus insurance. For a 100k$ vehicle to go with 30k miles is wildly unacceptable. I have had no luck getting a return call from a representative with GM which is why i am filing this complaint now.
My vehicle started making a terrible noise. I had it towed to the nearest GM service center. It was determined that the vehicle, a 2023 Yukon Denali (less than 26000 miles) needed a new engine due to thrust bearing failure causing the engine block to be scored and contamination of debris internally.
Engine failed on interstate causing total stoppage. 18,000 miles on the vehicle and GM had to replace the engine completely which took 3 months. ZERO warning lights prior to the failure, no check engine light once failure occurred.
The contact owns a 2023 GMC Yukon. The contact stated while her husband was driving at 75 MPH, the vehicle independently accelerated without depressing the accelerator pedal. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The contact stated that the transmission started to downshift, and the vehicle started losing motive power. The contact's husband merged to the side of the road and turned off the vehicle. While the vehicle was off, the message to press enter to start the vehicle was displayed; however, the vehicle failed to restart. The vehicle was then towed to a dealer and diagnosed with total engine failure. The local dealer was contacted; however, the vehicle was not repaired because the vehicle was not under recall. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 34,000.
The engine lost power then suddenly stopped running while driving on an interstate.
On Friday 2/21/25, while driving on the Interstate at Highway speeds, the dashboard said to idle the engine. The engine then stalled and thankfully I had enough speed and there was a shoulder available to pull off on. The dashboard then gave many messages including voltage, overheating, high oil temperature, idle engine, etc... I was unable to restart the vehicle on the side of the interstate. I was towed to the dealer who advised the engine would have to be replaced. This vehicle has a 6.2L gas engine with 39,223 (approx) miles.
Vehicle stopped working on a major road almost in the intersection in Lake Charles, Louisiana. The Vehicle is not able to be put in neutral to safely push it away to safer area. Had to be towed back to Texas at my expense of $400 and Service department says it is due to a blown 6.2l motor.
I was driving home from work at around 60 mph. Very sunddly their was a rattling metal sounds and then vehicle struggled to maintain speed. Before pulling off the highway at the next exit. On the exit ramp the engine turned off and would not turn back on. The vehicle was also stuck in neutral and not able to shift out of neutral for towing. There was no worning lamps or messages even after the noise and reduced power. Vehicle was towed to local dealership on Tuesday evening, as this was not scheduled it took them to diagnosis the issue as engine failure and recommending to replace the engine. The vehicle is a 6.2L GMC Yukon Denali with 23k miles. All service has been done at the dealer with no outstanding work prior to the engine failure. Where it gets more disappointing is the lack of information for time to fix. The replacement engine was ordered by the dealer on February 14th. As of February 28th they did not have any information....So i called GMC on that 1800 number listed on GM Document DCS6866 referencing customer satisfaction program N232413430. The first agent disconnected without filing a case. The second agent had to restart the process and was told that there was nothing they would do for 14 days after the case was opened before it would be elevated. When talking to the agent they denied any information related to the GM Customer Satisfaction Program or any knowledge of what seems to be a wide spread defect on 6.2L engines. The service and support for a $90k vehic
The contact owns a 2023 GMC Yukon. The contact stated that while driving 70 MPH, the vehicle independently shifted into neutral and stalled in the middle of the highway. An unknown message was displayed. In addition, after restarting the vehicle, the accelerator pedal was depressed but the vehicle failed to accelerate as intended. The contact stated that the transmission then shifted into neutral(N) independently after driving for several miles. The contact stated that the vehicle would not crank and was towed to a local dealer. The contact stated that the vehicle failed to shift into neutral and was towed while in park(P). The vehicle was diagnosed and determined that the engine needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired and remained at the local dealer for further investigation. The contact related the failure to GM investigation: PE25001. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 20,549.
While we were driving at a high speed all control of the vehicle shut down. There was absolutely no warning that this was going to happen to that anything in the vehicle was breaking down. We were able to get to the side of the road and the vehicle locked into N. From that point on the car did not work. After being looked at my GMC, they decided that it needs a new engine. It only has under 15K miles. We were told that some somehow pieces of metal were in the engine. Engines are currently on a national backorder and we have been without our vehicle for over 4 weeks. They have no expected date that this will be fixed.
On [XXX], at approximately [XXX]., I was driving down a highway and my vehicle engine just stopped. The dash went blank, I lost power and steering and there was no warning. I had enough momentum to partially stop on the shoulder of the highway but part of the vehicle was still in the flow of traffic. It was a dangerous situation for sure, especially since I had my [XXX] son in the car with me. I had the vehicle towed to the dealership where I purchased it, they said it was a connecting rod failure and I would need a new engine. This was on [XXX] and I still do not have my vehicle, they said the engine was on backorder. I have been in regular contact with GMC customer service and they have been largely unhelpful and unwilling to explore any other option that me just waiting for an engine to come it. I am now in my 9th week without my vehicle. The way they have treated me is unacceptable and they have not even acknowledged the danger that this defect put me and my son. While driving down the highway, the engine completely locked up upon diagnosis at the dealership we were informed that repairs could take 4 to 8 months
On Jan. 19, 2025, while driving home, I started hearing a loud knocking noise from my engine. Lucky I was still on residential streets so I was able to safely pull over to a parking lot. I was planning to drive the 40 miles home on the freeway when my wife said it might not be safe. That was when I decided to drive to my sister's house. Only when I pulled into the drive way the check engine light finally came on. The next day, I had the vehicle towed to the dealership and they diagnosed that I needed a new engine. They did not go into specifics as to why I will need a whole new engine but they did tell me that this was common and that they had other vehicles waiting for an engine also. My vehicle has been sitting there since.
Traveling at 65 MPH on highway when electronic dash went completely blank, audio on car stopped as did the engine! Steering of vehicle remained in tact so I was fortunate to be able to "coast" to the side of the highway. GMC Dealer has confirmed a total engine failure and stated they will need to replace the entire engine. There were no prior warnings, symptoms or problems with my vehicle prior to this incident.
Catastrophic engine failure
The contact owns a 2023 GMC Yukon. The contact stated that while driving at 65 MPH on the Interstate with his family in the vehicle, the engine stalled, and the rear wheels locked up. No warning lights were illuminated. The contact and his family were left stranded in the middle of the Interstate. The vehicle was towed to a local dealer to be diagnosed and the contact was informed that the main bearing in the engine had seized, and the engine block needed to be replaced. The contact stated that the vehicle was repaired; however, after retrieving the vehicle, while driving to the residence the failure recurred and the wheels locked up again. The contact pulled over to the side of the roadway and exited the vehicle. The vehicle was towed back to the local dealer to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that the vehicle had experienced the same failure as before. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 40,000.
Our Yukon Denali at around 34k miles lost power while in motion, it automatically put it in neutral and said try to restart. Rolled to a stop in a turn lane and when we tried to start ignition…nothing happened. On star was called and ran diagnostic, showing no issue. Towed vehicle to dealership and the engine seized up. 4 piston rods had broke and the engine needed to be rebuilt.
Motor locked up and went into neutral on it’s on driving 60mph. I was able to restart the vehicle and then it completely shut down at red light in a main intersection.
My vehicle was being driven by my Nanny and had my children in the car, the engine started making a strange noise so she was required to pull over on a busy highway bridge in Tulsa, OK. There was no warning of any issues with the vehicle before this incident. It then would not start and had to be towed to a GMC Dealership in Broken Arrow, OK. They informed me the entire engine is locked up and has to be rebuilt.
Vehicle suddenly lost all power at speed, coasted to a stop. No waring indicators, stopped in a lane of traffic, speed limit was 55mph. Engine is now seized.

What carries weight is repetition: the same component failing the same way across many filings, and whether the manufacturer eventually opened a recall for it.
