I have been having the same issue with my car for 11 months now. My car has been in the shop more than in my possession. I have paid for repairs that did not solve the problem as well as thousands in car rental fees. When I am driving my car at over 70 MPH on the expressway the dash board lights up with a check engine light and then reads traction control turned off, service stabilitrak and the reduced engine power. The car then reduces down to just over 30 MPH right in the middle of the expressway. I've barely missed several accidents that could have killed someone. I have been in and out of the dealership as well as contacted GMC directly. This seems to be a common issue in this make and model of GMC (2014 ACADIA) and I am getting no where with any help or compensation from them. I was just quoted today for another almost $1900.00 repair that may not even solve the issue. I am still paying on this vehicle and am a front line worker who relies on this vehicle as I am a traveling Occupational Therapist. I don't think it's right that big business can just run over the little guys like this, not to mention the safety aspect and possible death can result in this issue. They have also not fixed the recall on the air bags which can lead to death as well. Please tell me there is something can be done about this.

Safety recall N232404980 was issued on my vehicle on May 10, 2023. As of today, October 9, 2023, GMC is still not able to make the repair for the safety recall, which as stated, can result in serious injury or death if the airbag deploys. It has also rendered my vehicle almost worthless. I feel like 5 months is way too long to wait for a safety recall such as this. This is not timely.
10/6/2023 The vehicle shakes all over the vehicle when driving at highway speeds the shop I brought it to says that the tire tread is slipped and you can see the tread is wavy when running on the lift and is most likely the cause of the vibration. It is actually all 4 tires but a couple of them are the more worse than others. P255/55R20 is the tire size and were bought 9/9/2021 but only have 20K miles on them. I just wanted to report so if there is other complaints about this with the same tire something may be able to be done to resolve this in case this issue gets worse.

Same Dealer was contacted today (4 Oct 23) and again the Dealership said parts were not available due to the UAW strike. They have no idea when they will receive parts to fix this issue. I received a recall for my vehicle months ago due to an airbag issue. The recall states there may be metal fragments in my airbag. This makes the car unsafe to drive. GMC still has no estimated time frame for when the parts will be available. I can’t afford to go out and buy another car while this one just sits. I don’t know how I’m getting my child to and from school starting the day after tomorrow. GMC will not offer a courtesy car and will not buy back the vehicle. This is unacceptable that they just expect me to drive this vehicle knowing there is a chance the safety equipment could kill the occupants of the vehicle.
I learned of airbag recall, and have tried to get something done. No one will help me. Guess I'm stuck with a killer vehicle

I'm concerned that if I'm in an accident and the driver airbag inflates metal fragments will pass through the airbag and into the interior of my vehicle and possibly kill me or my passengers. I've called a GMC dealer and they can't do anything because the parts aren't available at this time to repair. I called GMC customer assistance and they said there's nothing they can do at this time. I called State Farm, my insurance agency, and they said there's nothing they can do because I haven't been in an accident. I'm not satisfied with this outcome. I need my car to commute to work. I feel someone is responsible to do something for example cover the cost of a rental car.

NHTSA publishes every complaint as the owner wrote it and investigates only a fraction. Spelling, capitalisation and judgement are the filer’s own. What carries weight is repetition: the same component failing the same way across many filings, and whether the manufacturer eventually opened a recall for it.
