2025 Forest River Salem

Defect. Forest River, Inc. (Forest River) is recalling certain 2024-2026 Wildwood, Salem and 2026 Stealth EVO travel trailers. The fireplace outlet may have the incorrect wiring.

Risk. The incorrect wiring may not make adequate contact, increasing the amperage and risk of a fire.

Remedy. Dealers will replace the wiring and outlet, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed June 29, 2026. Owners may contact Forest River customer service at 1-503-831-5410.

Defect. Forest River, Inc. (Forest River) is recalling certain 2025 Stealth EVO, RPOD, 2025-2026 Wildwood, and Salem recreational trailers. The tire information label may list the incorrect tire inflation information.

Risk. A tire can be overinflated after referencing the incorrect information, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy. Dealers will replace the label, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed October 29, 2025. Defect. Forest River, Inc. (Forest River) is recalling certain 2025-2026 Forest River Aurora, Coachmen Catalina, 2026 Coachmen Viking, Coachmen Clipper, 2016-2026 Wildwood, and Salem recreational trailers. The distribution panel wire may be connected to the battery without over current protection.

Risk. Unprotected wiring can increase the risk of a fire.

Remedy. Dealers will relocate the distribution panel wire to the correct side of the breaker, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed November 18, 2025. Owners may contact Forest River customer service at 1-574-825-4995. Forest River's number for this recall is 205-1987.

Defect. Forest River, Inc. (Forest River) is recalling certain 2025-2026 Wildwood and Salem travel trailer recreational trailers. The exterior transit latch on the rear patio door cannot be unlocked from inside the vehicle.

Risk. A door that remains locked can prevent or delay occupants from evacuating during an emergency, increasing the risk of injury.

Defect. Forest River, Inc. (Forest River) is recalling certain 2025 Salem and Wildwood travel trailers. The side entry gate latch may become unlocked, allowing the strut to open the gate during transit.

Risk. An open gate can striking other road users and increases the risk of injury.

Remedy. Dealers will install a warning label and tethered pin and remove the strut, free of chare. Owner notification letters were mailed July 2, 2025. Owner may contact Forest River customer service at 1-574-534-3167. Forest River's number for this recall is 51-1935.

Defect. Forest River, Inc. (Forest River) is recalling certain 2024-2025 Coachmen Catalina, Forest River Aurora, Cascade, Cedar Creek, Cherokee, Sandpiper, Sierra, 2025 Campsite Reserve, Impression, Pause, Puma, Sabre, Salem, Vengeance, and Wildwood fifth wheel and travel trailers, equipped with a removable step assembly. The clip-on bracket mounting bolts may come loose, allowing the steps to detach.

Risk. Steps that detach while in use increase the risk of injury.

Remedy. Dealers will inspect and repair or replace the clip-on bracket as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed April 28, 2025. Defect. Forest River, Inc. (Forest River) is recalling certain 2024-2025 Salem SBF325RL, and Wildwood WBF325RL travel trailers. The tires may contact chassis components, causing the tires to fail.

Risk. Tire failure can cause a loss of vehicle control, increasing the risk of a crash.

Defect. Forest River, Inc. (Forest River) is recalling certain 2024-2025 Salem, and Wildwood travel trailers. The affected vehicles may not have a secondary emergency exit installed.

Risk. In the event of an emergency, passengers may not be able to exit the vehicle, increasing the risk of injury.

Remedy. Dealers will install an emergency exit window, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed July 26, 2024. Owners may contact Forest River customer service at 574-534-3167. Forest River's number for this recall is 72-1805.

Purchased this camper as brand new from camping world in November of 2025, after towing the camper home with my family in the vehicle, I proceeded to go through it about a week later to prepare it for winter. Upon going under the trailer I found two bolts that secure the leaf springs to the frame to be loose. One of them (front bolt of front driver side leaf spring ) was 3/4 of the way out, the other the nut was on by just 1 thread and the bolt was also backing out. This could have caused a serious accident or death as the vehicle could have rolled over or collided with another vehicle while turning. I proceeded to contact the dealership, they told me to contact Forrest river directly. I have submitted photos of issues and had back and forth correspondence and they have still not corrected the issue.. it has now been 3 months since I first reported this, and no one has corrected anything. Due to the severity of the issue I can not tow it to be serviced anywhere. I will be contacting my states attorney general as well to file a complaint.

The slide out mechanism is not strong enough to pull the slide out into the trailer itself for transport. This must be manually done, underneath the trailer, with a crescent wrench, even after extensive troubleshooting. The slide out does not operate independently, even when all cargo is removed.

The tempered glass covering the interior electric fireplace exploded randomly, sending shards of glass throughout the trailer. There was no warning, and we were simply sitting in the trailer enjoying the day. The fireplace was not turned on, and there was no power to the trailer. Battery was turned off, and the temperature inside the trailer was 70 degrees. There were no weak spots, dings, chips, or any other flaw in the glass.

The latch on the gate on the rear patio failed to remain secure, and the gate swung open multiple times driving down the freeway. We had to pull over and secure the latch manually.
