DEATH WOBBLE IN THE FRONT OF THE VEHICLE. at speeds greater than 40mph, the vehicle becomes almost impossible to steer due to a major 'wobble' in the front end.

Violent shaking of the whole truck and steering wheel when the truck hits a bump in the road driving between 60-75 mph. Ford replaced worn put parts and said they could not replicate the problem and everything is good. Driving down the same stretch of high way that causes the death wobble caused the problem again. I almost caused an accident from the sudden reduction in speed in order to regain control of my truck. The service advisor said it could be possble the tires are not balanced, so I had the tires rotated and balanced. Immediately after i left the dealership this incident occurred.

Death wobble, any change in the road such as a bridge, older road, bump, ect.... The truck starts to shake uncontrollably, and have to come to a complete stop and start over.

The contact owned a 2012 Ford F-250. The contact stated that while driving approximately 60 mph when they came to a small unevenness in the road due to a merging of roads. The contact stated that when they passed that point the vehicle suddenly displayed the death wobble despite there being no significant bumping of the vehicle. The contact had to come to a complete stop then pull over to the side of the road. The contact stated the wobbling seized till they came to a similar uneven patch on the road at approximately 60 mph. Again, the contact had to pull over to seize the wobble. The contact had to drive at less than 50 mph to avoid the failure from reoccurring. The contact had not taken the vehicle to be diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The approximate failure mileage was 30,000.

Power Mirror Driver's side doesn't retract /extend automatically. Driver's seat doesn't power adjust. It is stuck in one position and will not move. Electrical short w/ annoying hum over speakers when radio is on.

Front Air Bag light is on. Rather than taking it to a Ford Dealership to diagnose issue and charging me an arm and leg telling me the vehicle is out of warranty as in the past I wanted to report this and request direction from you as to what is my next step??? Can you assist me?

We are experiencing the death wobble. Had some repairs done and still having the same issue, just worse. The front end shakes violently when we hit a pot hole or a dip in the road. Couldn't keep hold of steering wheel and started to fish tail. Yes. Our diesel mechanic has looked at it and fixed some of the work. No warning lamps or anything prior to it happening was evident. The first time it happened was October 26, 2021.

The contact owns a 2012 Ford F-250. The contact stated that while driving at high speed, the front of the vehicle was shaking violently. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where the failure was undetermined. The dealer was not contacted. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 170,000.

When i was driving it, It would stallout and no power to the foot feed, you couldnt hear the motor running, pull over, and then the foot padel, feed would work again, with no service light came on, happen when i also pulled out to make a left turn or right turn also, I told Car lot, well we cant do anything if service light dosent come on, I ask them to keep it and drive it, as it only did it some times, I no longer have it as it was a danager in driveing it and also , had to have a fix it ticket, after, think the covered it up, lost 1000.oo dolars on it. Truck can kill some one not fix, cheek car fax, no repairs on it

Tire size 275/70R 18. I purchased these tires in April of 2020 from Stivers Ford in Birmingham, Al. I have since replaced 4 deflective tires and 2 tires there about to be defective. The major problem with this tire is that 1 of these tires blew out while driving 70mph on I-22 in Graysville, Al exit 87 westbound. This blowout resulted in my truck doing a 720 in the middle of traffic, if I had had a trailer connected to my truck this probably would have resulted in my death and/or others. I have since filed a claim with Continental Tires The Americas Case# 21218001, and sent all of the tires back to them that were defective. Continental Tires claims this was a result of a road hazard condition (6 times??). My vehicle was inspected by Sherrill Auto body and found that there was $5000+ damage that occurred. There were no warning lights or messages, the only warning I had was the truck started shaking and when the front tires went bad, there was shaking and death wobble at times. There is a recall on these tires "but not with my DOT#".

My pickup has what is called the "Death Wobble".

My truck is very dangerous to use because once you get to 30mph and hit a little bump i mean a little bump it starts shaking badly and very dangerous. It also does it while on the hwy. at 60mph oh my god i dont recommend to anyone to but this kind of trucks. its not only me theres is alot of people with the same problem and there is no recall or anything for this... What should i do.. This death wobble thing is just so out of control that the tires want to fall off or something..thers has to be something done.

Periodic extreme Death Wobble (uncontrolled steering/suspension shaking) when driving at high speeds on rough roads.

I was driving on the highway and the front of the truck started to shake uncontrollably. I thought maybe I hit something. Then a little while longer it did it again when I hit a bump. Thank goodness not a lot of cars around I had to turn on my blinkers and try to pull over . No warning lights no bells no whistles nothin happen before or after. Then on August 29,2021 it happened again this time a busy road . Cars behind me almost ran into me I don’t remember any bumps in the road at all . There was no warning ,!scared me. Next time might not be so lucky . I called the Ford dealer and he has made an appointment to see the truck in over a week . Guess we just keep driving and pray it doesn’t happen and no one dies . Thanks Ford .

Today, while my wife was exiting my F250, the passenger A pillar handle failed and my wife fell to the ground. She sustained injuries to her hand and leg.

On multiple occasions I have experienced a “death wobble” or a violent shaking that happens to the front end. It typically occurs at speeds over 50 miles per hour. It can also happen after going over bumps or grooves in the road. To stop the shaking, I must quickly slow way down or even stop completely. I have video documentation of it happening as experienced from inside the cab captured at its earliest onset on the vehicle.

While driving at highway speeds and going over a bump, steering wheel will oscillate violently. Will have to slow down to nearly a stop to get it to stop. This happens between 60 and 65 MPH hitting the right bump truck gets death wobble, has to get on the brakes hard to stop it, had dealer look at it. It has been at the Ford dealership where I bought it and an independent shop and each time it has gotten a little better at each shop but still not completely fixed.

Death Wobble. Truck was uncontrollable, shook so bad that I thought I was going to run off the road. has happened 3 times. Ford claims it is an expected issue.

When driving on the interstate at the start of a full day on the road, the front of the truck started shaking violently. At first, I thought I had encountered a rough stretch of road, but there was no way the washboard effect I was experiencing was from the road. It was far too fast and violent. My next thoughts were that I was about to lose a front tire...or both front tires...or maybe the engine was seizing up. Whatever it was, something was seriously wrong and it was scary. I responded by taking my foot off the accelerator and braking, and then easing across two lanes of traffic to the side of the road, where the shaking stopped. I was traveling with my daughter and five-month-old granddaughter, and once I slowed down, the shaking stopped. The truck then ran normally and we were able to resume our trip without any further issues. The truck is currently at the Ford dealer to be serviced and they are looking into the problem, though when I described what had happened, the lady at the service desk said, "Yeah, some of these trucks have that problem." I now have serious concerns about the safety of this truck, particularly since I often travel alone pulling a horse trailer and for long distances. Were this to happen with a fully loaded trailer, in heavy traffic, on a curve, and/or going down a mountain pass, I don't know what would happen since with the steering wheel and front of the truck were shaking so violently that it didn't feel like I had any control over the front end

When going over 50mph and hitting a bump the vehicle will shake and vibrate uncontrollably. The steering wheel will shake so violently that it is difficult to control the steering. Must come to a complete stop for the shaking and vibration to stop. This is extremely dangerous in traffic and especially if you are unable to pull to the side of the road as in driving in the mountains. Vehicle has been in the shop several times and problem was reproduced by the technician. Several suspension parts have been replaced at a high cost and problem has not been resolved. Research has shown that this is a problem with Ford trucks and no resolution has been provided by Ford.

The vehicle starts shaking violently and uncontrol able until you slam on the brakes and your speed almost drops to nothing, only until then do you have control of the vehicle. I have been lucky because nobody has been beside me or else I would of slammed into them. Components in the front end have failed, i have replace the steering control arms, had the tires rebalanced, put a Rancho stabilizer, and had the ball joints checked.

Going 70-80mph on Rt119 North bound after going over a bridge truck started violently shaking with no control. Slowed down and kept going. After about 7 miles and going below 50mph the truck did the same thing.

Death wobble in steering which pulled truck onto on coming traffic .. dangerous and Ford should correct ongoing problem with people’s safety

THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 FORD F-250. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE CONTACT SMELLED SMOKE COMING FROM INSIDE THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT STATED NO WARNING LIGHT WAS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN UNKNOWN LOCAL DEALER TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE ENTIRE VEHICLE WIRING HARNESS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. ADDITIONALLY, THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE INSULATION BURNED OFF THE WIRES FROM THE PASSENGER’S TO THE DRIVER’S SIDE CAUSING THE DOOR LOCKS TO BECOME INOPERABLE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT YET REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT INFORMED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 83,404.

SPONGE BRAKE PEDAL DEALER SAID NOTHING IS WRONG

DEATH WOBBLE AROUND 45 MPH

ON MARCH 27,2021. I WAS RETURNING FROM A SHOPPING TRIP. I PULLED INTO MY DRIVE WAY PARKED, TURNED OFF THE TRUCK. OPENED DOOR AND IMMEDIATELY SMELLED HOT BRAKES. I TURNED LOOKED TO REAR OF VEHICLE NOTICED SMOKE RISING FROM DRIVER AND PASSENGER SIDE. I IMMEDIATELY GRABBED GARDEN HOSE A SPRAYED DOWN THE BRAKES REAR AND FRONT, WATER TURNED TO STEAM INSTANTLY. AS TO WHEN THE BRAKES LOCKED UP I CANNOT PIN POINT, BUT GOING TO SAY WHEN I TURNED TO MY STREET WHICH IS JUST UNDER 3/4 MILE FROM HOUSE. ONCE I WAS SURE VEHICLE WAS SAFE I CALLED SERVICE DEPARTMENT TO MAKE AN APPOINTMENT TO INITIATE REPAIRS. REPAIRS COMPLETE APRIL 6, 2021. I DID NOT RECEIVE ANY REAL ANSWER AS TO THE CAUSE.

ON MY 2012 FORD F250 IT HAS THE CRANK CASE VENTILATION FILTER THAT LEAKS OIL INTO THE INTAKE I HAVE SEEN ALOT OF POST ABOUT THIS EXACT PROBLEM IT SORTA FEELS LIKE FORD WANTS OUR TRUCKS TO BREAK SOBWE HAVE TO BUY A NEW ONE THE FILTER IS CHEAP BUT ITS A DEFECT THAT THE DEALER MADE THIS TRUCK HAS BEEN IN THE SHOP TWICE ALREADY BC OF THE DEF SENDING UNIT AND NOW WITH THIS PROBLEM THIA TRUCK ONLY HAS 101K MILES AND I FORGOT TO SAY WHEN THIS HAPPENS IT BUILDS UP EXTREAM PRESSURE ON THE OIL CAP WHEN IT OPENS UP IT THROWS OIL IN YOUR FACE I NEEDED TO GO TO THE EYE DOCTOR SO I COULD GET A FLUSH TRUST ME FORD KNOWS ABOUT THE PROBLEM ON THESE 6.7 THEY JUST HAVENT FIGURED OUT A SOLUTION TO KEEP THERE FORD CUSTOMERS SATISFIED I WOULD LIKE THEM TO PUT IN A NEW CCV FILTER BECAUSE OF THERE POOR DESIGN ON THIS TRUCK..

WHEN DRIVING THE VEHICLE AT A NORMAL RATE OF SPEED; UPON ENTERING 45-50MPH THE FRONT END SHAKES VIOLENTLY. ONCE THE SPEED OF 50+ MPH IS OBTAINED, THE SHAKING STOPS. ALSO BELOW 45MPH THE SHAKING STOPS. HOWEVER, UPON DECELERATION, BELOW 45 MPH, SHAKING OCCURS AT TIMES AS WELL. THE WOBBLE OCCURS DURING ALL ROAD CONDITIONS I.E. NO BUMPS, SMOOTH, FLAT, NON HILL ETC., AND TEMPERATURES I.E. SUMMER, WINTER, RAIN, SAND, SLEET, AND NORMAL DRIVING CONDITIONS.

THE DEATH WOBBLE MY F-250 TRUCK HAS BEEN HAVING A DEATH WOBBLE SINCE I BOUGHT IT ,I FIRST TOOK IT IN TO FORD SERVICE DEPARTMENT WITH 10,212 VEHICLE MILES ON THE TRUCK BECAUSE OF THE DEATH WOBBLE , AND HAVE TAKEN THE TRUCK SEVERAL TIMES FOR THE DEATH WOBBLE SINCE THEN . FORD MOTOR COMPANY HAS NEVER FIXED THIS PROBLEM , THEY ONLY MAKE MINOR CHANGES "BANDAID" TO THE TRUCK AND IT IS STILL NOT FIXED , THEY KEEP PUTTING ME OFF AND SAY THERE IS NO SOLUTION TO THIS PROBLEM. I HAVE SEVERAL PAGES OF SERVICE REPAIRS FORD HAS PERFORMED BUT THEY HAVE NEVER FIXED THE DEATH WOBBLE . MY FORD F-250 STILL HAS LOW MILEAGE BUT IS NOT SAFE TO DRIVE. MY FAMILY AND I HAVE CAME VERY CLOSE TO A ROLL OVER AT 70 MPH ON THE INTERSTATE FROM WHEN WE HIT A BUMP IN THE ROAD. EVERY TIME THE TRUCK ROLLS OVER A BUMP AT ANY SPEED ABOVE 20 MPH IT GOES INTO A WOBBLE AND BECOMES VERY HAZARDOUS AND SCARY. WE BOUGHT THIS F-250 KING RANCH TO DRIVE AND ENJOY ON VACATIONS AND OTHER FAMILY TRIPS , BUT AT THIS TIME MY FAMILY AND I DON'T FEEL SAFE RIDING IN IT, NOR HAVING IT ON THE ROAD WAYS IN FEAR OF IT BEING A DANGER TO US AND OTHER DRIVERS OR PEDESTRIANS. THIS F-250 GOES INTO A DEATH WOBBLE WHEN ENCOUNTERING A BUMP IN THE ROAD , ON PUBLIC COUNTY ROADS, CITY STREETS , STATE HIGHWAYS AND ESPECIALLY INTERSTATES AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS. I HAVE CONTACTED OUR LOCAL DEALER SEVERAL TIMES ON THIS ISSUE WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS UNDER WARRANTY. I HAVE CONTACTED FORD MOTOR CORPORATION ON THIS ISSUES AS WELL. YET NEITHER ONE OF THESE ENTIT

MY LOCAL TIRE MAN DESCRIBED THIS AS A " DEATH WOBBLE" AND THAT IS AA GOOD DESCRIPTION. AS I DRIVE USUALLY AT 55 MPH THE TRUCK SUDDENLY STARTS TO SHAKE, NO PRIOR WARNING, SO HARD IT IS HARD TO HOLD ONTO THE STEERING WHEEL. O FAR I HAVE BEEN ABLE TO PULL OFF TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND SLOW TO A STOP WITHOUT A WRECK. I CAN THEN PROCEED AS IF NOTHING HAS OCCURRED. THIS SEEMS TO BE GETTING MORE FREQUENT. AND MAKES ME NERVOUS WHEN I DRIVE.. I HAVE LEARNED FROM MY TIRE MAN THERE ARE OTHER OWNERS IN MY ARE HAVING THIS SAME PROBLEM WITH THEIR FORD TRUCKS. WE HAVE HAD FORDS SINCE THE '70'S AND NEVER HAD THIS PROBLEM WITH ANY OTHER ONE. I UNDERSTAND THERE IS A PART OR SOMETHING THAT CAN BE DONE TO FIX THIS PROBLEM; HOWEVER IT COSTS $400-$500 AND I THINK THIS IS SOMETHING THAT FORD SHOULD FIX, NOT THE OWNER, WHEN IT SEEMS TO BE A FORD PROBLEM.WHETHER IN DESIGN OR WHATEVER. I EVEN HAD A FORD SERVICEMAN TELL ME THAT THIS IS A PROBLEM SOMETIMES WITH FORD . THIS IS A FRIGHTENING THING AND I ABOUT HAD A HEART ATTACK THE FIRST TIME IT HAPPENED.. LUCKILY I WAS ALONE AND DIDN'T FRIGHTEN ANYONE ELSE. THIS HAS HAPPENED NUMEROUS TIMES FIRST IN 2014 . I WILL PUT THE LAST TIME IN THE SPACE BELOW AND I DID HAVE A FRIEND WITH ME THAT TIME.

WHILE DRIVING AT APPROXIMATELY 75MPH ON AN INTERSTATE; AFTER HITTING A BUMP OR EXPANSION JOINT THE FRONT END WOBBLES UNCONTROLLABLY UNTIL THE SPEED IS REDUCED BY ABOUT HALF. I HAD A TRUSTED MECHANIC LOOK AT MY TRUCK AND HE SAID ALL FRONT END PARTS WERE IN GOOD CONDITION AND TIGHT. HE TALKED TO A DEALER WHO RECOMMENDED REPLACING THE STEERING DAMPER AS A CURE FOR THE "DEATH WOBBLE" ISSUE. I HAD THAT REPLACED AROUND THE FIRST OF FEBRUARY 2021. I HAD NOT DRIVEN THE TRUCK ON AN INTERSTATE AT SPEED SINCE THE REPLACEMENT UNTIL TUESDAY, MARCH 9, 2021. THE WOBBLE HAPPENED THREE SEPARATE TIMES WITHIN A SPAN OF TEN MINUTES SCARING THE DAYLIGHTS OUT OF ME AND NEARLY CAUSING TWO WRECKS. THE TRUCK IS HAZARDOUS TO DRIVE TO NOT ONLY MYSELF, BUT TO OTHER VEHICLES IN MY VICINITY WHILE ON THE ROAD.

THE CONTACT STATED HE WAS ABLE TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE TO HIS DESTINATION. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC AND WAS INFORMED THE FRONT STEERING DAMPER WAS NEEDING TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE HAD BEEN REPAIRED. A DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE MANUFACTURER HAD BEEN INFORMED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 100,000. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.

STEERING WHEEL SHAKES AND THE FRONT TIRES WOBBLE , AFTER HITTING A BUMP, NOT ALL THE TIME . CHANGE EVERYTHING UNDER THE FRONT END AND STILL THE SAME THING. DEATH WOBBLE ABOVE 55 MPH.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 FORD F-250. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING 65 MPH, THE VEHICLE STARTED SHAKING ABNORMALLY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THERE WAS NO WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE LOCAL DEALER FAIRWAY FORD OF AUGUSTA INC (4333 WASHINGTON RD, EVANS, GA 30809, (706) 854-9200) WHERE THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE CONTACT WAS UNSURE OF WHAT PARTS WERE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT INFORMED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 103,000. *BF THE CONSUMER STATED THAT THE VEHICLE IS CONTINUOUSLY SHAKING EVEN WITH THE VEHICLE BEING REPAIRED.

THE 6.2 ENGINE HAS BROKEN VALVE SPRINGS 3 TIMES NOW. FIRST TWO TIMES WAS ABLE TO JUST REPLACE THE BROKEN VALVE SPRING. THE 3RD TIME IT BROKE A VALVE SPRING IT DROPPED THE VALVE IN THE MOTOR AND PUT HOLE RIGHT THROUGH THE BLOCK AND SEIZED THE MOTOR ALMOST CAUSING ME TO WRECK

WE HAVE HAD NUMEROUS INSTANCES OF "DEATH WOBBLE" STARTING AT A 75,000 MILES. ALL SUSPENSION IS STOCK, TIRES ARE STOCK. I HAD BROUGHT THE TRUCK TO THE DEALERSHIP 4-5 TIMES (UNDER WARRANTY) AND GOT THE TRACK BAR REPLACED, TRACK BALL BUSHING, AND BALL JOINT, STEERING DAMPER, INCREASE IN CASTER AND EVEN BOUGHT NEW STOCK TIRES TO PROVE OUT THE PROBLEM. I HAVE 125,000 MILES ON THE TRUCK NOW AFTER FIGHTING THIS ISSUE FOR YEARS AND HAVE REPLACED ALL ROD ENDS, TRACK BAR, BUSHINGS, STEERING DAMPER, ETC AND THE DEATH WOBBLE STILL PERSISTS. THIS IS CLEARLY A DESIGN ISSUE AND MAKES THE TRUCK DANGEROUS TO DRIVE. THE ISSUE OCCURS PRIMARILY AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS, WHILE MAKING A VERY SLIGHT LEFT TURN WHEN A SMALL BUMP IS DRIVEN OVER SUCH AS AN EXPANSION JOINT. THE SEVERE VIBRATION THAT SHAKES THE FRONT SUSPENSION VIOLENTLY BACK AND FORTH DOES NOT SUBSIDE UNTIL THE TRUCK IS UNDER ~20 MPH (NOT A SAFE CONDITION TO BE IN WHEN ON THE HIGHWAY). DURING THIS PERIOD YOU CAN NOT HOLD THE STEERING WHEEL UNDER CONTROL, CAN NOT CONTROL THE DIRECTION OF THE VEHICLE OR STOP QUICKLY IF REQUIRED. THIS 'DEATH WOBBLE' HAS OCCURRED APPROXIMATELY 20 TIME WITH THE LATEST OCCURRENCE HAPPENING TODAY.

WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE INTERSTATE AT 60MPH THE TRUCK STARTED VIOLENTLY SHAKING. THE STEERING WHEEL WAS SHAKING UNCONTROLLABLY. IT WAS A VERY SCARY SCENARIO. UPON RESEARCHING THIS IS A KNOWN PROBLEM THAT FORD HASN'T ADDRESSED. SINCE THEN IT HAS HAPPENED MULTIPLE TIMES AND HAVE DUBBED IT UNSAFE TO OPERATE AT 60MPH. I AM NOT THE FIRST OWNER OF THIS VEHICLE AND AM NOT SURE IF THIS OCCURED BEFORE 131,000 MILES OR NOT.

INTERIOR LIGHTS DO NOT COME ON WHEN DOOR IS OPENED, ONLY CAN BE MANUALLY TURNED ON. THE CARGO LIGHTS AND HIGH BRAKE LIKE NO LONGER WORK AS WELL WHICH IS A SAFETY ISSUE WITH THE CENTER HIGH BRAKE LIGHT. TURNS OUT A LOT OF 2012 F250 OWNERS ARE COMPLAINING OF THE SAME ISSUE AND IT'S CAUSED BY THE BCM. BODY CONTROL MODULE. IT APPEARS THAT A DESIGN FLAW LETS WATER DRIP ON THE MODULE WHICH EVENTUALLY MAKES IT NO LONGER OPERATE AS EXPLAINED BY SEVERAL REPAIR SHOPS I'VE CONTACTED. THE 2011 F250 HAS A RECALL FOR THIS SAME PROBLEM.

TRAVELING AT FREEWAY SPEEDS WHEN THE TRUCK HITS A BUMP OR ISSUE IN/ON THE ROAD THE FRONT WHEELS START TO SHAKE VIOLENTLY AND I AM BARELY ABLE TO CONTROL THE TRUCK UNTIL IT SLOWS TO AROUND 10 MPH, I HAVE NOW REPLACED ALL THE STEERING COMPONENTS AND IT HAS GOTTEN WORSE AND I HAVE ALMOST ROLLED MY TRUCK. WHEN I HAVE CONTACTED FORD DEALERS THEY ALL TELL ME THAT THEY HAVE NEVER HEARD OF THIS ISSUE BUT FOR $6,000 TO $10,000 THEY CAN REPLACE ALL THE SUSPENSION PARTS AND THAT SHOULD FIX THE UNUSUAL PROBLEM THAT ONLY I AM HAVING.

MY 15 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER WAS DRIVING MY TRUCK WHEN SOMEONE SLAMMED ON BRAKES IN FRONT OF US TO TURN, WITH NO TURN SIGNAL. WE HIT THIS PERSONS VEHICLE IN A 55 MPH ZONE AT 55 MPH AND THEN HIT THE DITCH. NONE OF OUR AIRBAGS DEPLOYED. WITH THE DAMAGE THAT OCCURED, I WOULD THINK A SENSOR WOULD HAVE TRIGGERED. THIS NEEDS TO BE BROUGHT TO THE ATTENTION OF FORD MOTOR COMPANY.

FIRS STARTED VIBRATING BEYOND MY CONTROL WHEN I HIT A SMALL BUMP WHILE TRAVELLING APPROXIMATELY 50MPH, HAD WORN BUSHING AND OTHER REPLACEMENTS AND CONTINUES TO OCCUR PERIODICALLY. THE SHAKING IS SO SEVERE THAT THE TRUCK CANNOT BE STEERED AND ONLY STOPS WHEN I GET BELOW 20MPH. IT HAS NOW OCCURRED AT SPEEDS FROM 35 TO 70MPH AND THE TRUCK IS UNSAFE TO DRIVE.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 FORD F-250. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING, HE HAD TO SLAM ON THE BRAKES TO AVOID CRASHING INTO A VEHICLE THAT HAD TURNED IN FRONT OF HIM. THE BRAKE PEDAL WENT SOFT WHILE PRESSED DOWN. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO RON TIRAPELLI FORD (4355 W. JEFFERSON ST, SHOREWOOD, IL 60404, (815) 725-3033). THE DEALER CHECKED THE BRAKES AND RECOMMENDED THAT THE BRAKE PADS BE CHANGED AND THE BRAKE LINES BE BLED TO REMOVE AIR IN THE SYSTEM. THE CONTACT PICKED UP THE VEHICLE AND TESTED THE BRAKE PEDAL AND THE BRAKE PEDAL WENT DOWN TO THE FLOORBOARD. THE CONTACT HAD THE MANAGER STEP ON THE BRAKE PEDAL AND IT WENT DOWN TO THE FLOOR. THE DEALER MADE AN APPOINTMENT THE NEXT DAY AND PROVIDED COMPLETE SERVICE CHECK. THE FAILURE RECURRED AGAIN WHILE DRIVING 45 MPH. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE BACK TO THE SAME HOWEVER, THE FAILURE PERSISTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 95,000. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.

AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS WHEN GOING AROUND A CURVE THE VEHICLE BEGAN SHAKING VIOLENTLY. FORD DEALER REPLACED THE DAMPER ASSEMBLY, FRONT SUSPENSION ARM BUSHING, INSTALLED 1 DEGREE ADJUSTERS, REPLACED THE TRACK BAR BUSHING, AND DID A FRONT END ALIGNMENT. TEN MONTHS LATER I EXPERIENCED A SIMILAR VIOLENT SHAKING WHEN GOING OVER BUMPS AT 75 MPH. THIS HAPPENED 3 TIMES IN A 2 DAY PERIOD. THE SHAKING WOULD ONLY SUBSIDE AFTER SLOWING DOWN TO LESS THAN 15 MPH. MANY OTHER F250 OWNERS HAVE EXPERIENCED THE SAME PROBLEM. THE SHAKING IS SO VIOLENT IS COULD EASILY CAUSE LOSS OF CONTROL AND AN ACCIDENT. THIS VEHICLE IS UNSAFE.

FOR THE SECOND TIME WHILE TRAVELING ON MAJOR HIGHWAYS MY TRUCK STARTED SHAKING VIOLENTLY TO THE POINT I COULD BARELY MAINTAIN A HOLD ON THE STEERING WHEEL. I HAVE HAD MY TIRES CHECKED AND THEY IN GOOD SHAPE AND BALANCED. THE FRONT BALL JOINTS ARE DEEMED FINE. AFTER A VISIT TO THE DEALER THEY SAY THEY CAN FIND NO PROBLEM.

WHILE DRIVE MY 2012 FORD F-250 AT SPEEDS OF 65+, THE STEERING WHEEL START TO SHAKE VIOLENTLY AFTER DRIVING OVER A BUMP IN THE ROAD. I HAVE RESEARCHED THIS AND FOUND IT IS COMMONLY KNOWN AS A DEATH WOBBLE. THE VIDEOS FOUND ON YOUTUBE REPLICATE IT CORRECTLY. I'M NOT SURE WHAT OTHER DAMAGE IT MAY HAVE CAUSED TO MY TRUCK. IT HAS BEEN HAPPENING SINCE I BOUGHT THE TRUCK. I'VE BOUGHT AN ADJUSTABLE TRACK BAR AND TRIED MANY DIFFERENT TIRES COMBINATIONS. I HAVE NOT FOUND A SOLUTION.

ABOVE ABOUT 40MPH, VERY STRONG SHAKING IN STEERING THAT IS UNABLE TO BE CONTROLLED UNLESS I SLOW DOWN. VEHICLE VERY DIFFICULT TO CONTROL. THIS HAS BEEN REFERRED TO AS "DEATH WOBBLE" ON THESE TRUCKS AND I HAVE BEEN EXPERIENCING IT FOR YEARS. I FINALLY DECIDED TO FILE A COMPLAINT.

WHEN DRIVING ON I95 (INTESTATE) AT A NOMINAL 65-70 MPH SPONTANEOUSLY, THE TRUCK STARTS SHAKING AND AS TIME PROGRESSES IT GETS SO BAD IT MAKES THE TRUCK VERY DIFFICULT TO CONTROL. DURING THE EVENT THE FIRST REACTION IS TO HOLD THE TRUCK IN A LANE WHILE BRAKING. THAT EXACERBATES THE VIOLENCE OF THE SHAKING UNTIL BELOW 30 MPH. THIS HAS GOTTEN PROGRESSIVELY WORST OVER A WEEKS TIME. MOST RECENTLY IT ALMOST CAUSED A COLLISION WITH A LARGE TRUCK. THIS HAPPENED WHEN THE TRUCK WAS NEW AND THE DEALER REPAIRED SOMETHING AT NO COST UNDER WARRANTY. NOW I MUST PAY FOR A REPAIR FOR SOMETHING I BELIEVE IS A SIGNIFICANT DESIGN PROBLEM AND SAFETY HAZARD.

MY 2012 F250 STARTED HAVING A DEATH WOBBLE IN JULY OF 2020. I HAD A FORD DEALERSHIP IN SNYDER TX REPLACE MY STEERING DAMPENER IN AUG OF 2020. THE PROBLEM JUST STARTED AGAIN OCTOBER 13. THE TRUCK ONLY HAS 140000 MILES ON IT. THE DEALERSHIP IN SNYDER TX SAID THAT THE FRONT END COMPONENTS ARE IN GREAT SHAPE AND SAID THAT THE DAMPENER SHOULD FIX THE PROBLEM. IT HAS NOT. THIS WOBBLE HAPPENS AT HWY SPEEDS . I HAVE TO BREAK HARD TO TRY AND SLOW IT DOWN AS SOON AS POSSIBLE.

WHILE TRAVELING AT FREEWAY SPEEDS AND HITTING A BUMP, POTHOLE OR EXPANSION JOINT THE FRONT END DEVELOPS A HORRIBLE WOBBLE AND IS VERY HARD TO CONTROL UNTIL I CAN GET THE SPEED BELOW 35 MPH. I AM AWARE THERE IS A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT AGAINST FORD MOTOR COMPANY BECAUSE OF THIS ISSUE. THIS HAS HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES BEFORE AND AFTER WORK HAS BEEN DONE TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM.
