There were no warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure. I found out about the recall when I was researching how to operate my vehicle. I made an appointment to have the recall repair made on April 5, 2024. On April 8. 2024, the dealer called back the Service Manager stated, "They aren't processing the recalls unless the vehicle is on the side of the road." I called several other dealers and they stated they also would not repair the vehicle. On [XXX], the engine oil pump drive belt tensioner arm fractured and separated from the tensioner backing plate. The oil pump drive belt lost teeth and the car lost engine oil pressure. There was a loss of motive power and a loss of mechanical vacuum pump the vehicle lost all power and shut down. I was sitting at a light in the middle of the street at 11:30 PM. The vehicle could have shut down on the highway. I had just exited the highway, it was late at night and dark. Someone could have run into the back of my vehicle. I had the vehicle towed to Planet Ford in Spring, TX. After negotiating with them they worked on the engine but the car would not start. Then they said it needed a new battery and once installed the vehicle still did not run properly. They stated I needed to pay for a diagnostic because transmission lights are coming on. I refused because the damage was 100% caused by Ford's irresponsibility and neglect. The Recall stated repairs were supposed to be made at no charge. Planet Ford is no

I have not received any update on the parts for my safety recall notice 23s64/NHTSA Recall 23V905.
My ecosport’s coolant reservoir has a leak. Due to this, my car overheated and went into limp mode. A week later, my ecosport would crank but not start, I believe this is due to a cracked cylinder from the oil pump recall. I received a recall notice for the oil pump in June with no current remedy. Now, I am having these issues with my vehicle. A mobile mechanic looked at my vehicle.
My engine blew up due to this recall in the beginning of July. It is now October. Car still at leonardtown ford. I had a rental until I purchased another vehicle this month. When I turned in rental I was charged 1455 dollars as the part ford claims the won't cover. I tried to get a loaner for weeks only to be told no loaners available. I have a rep at Ford and a case number however no one knows if or when I may be reimbursed for that money. This is horrible. This situation is because thier engine failed. I just want my money back and to move on.
On Tuesday, [XXX] I could have been killed on the highway due to the recall from Ford. I’m thankful I am alive today. I was driving when my engine oil pressure light came on, my speed slowed down, my car was rumbling, my engine locked up and I had to weave through traffic to pull over on the side of the road. I had to spend money to have it towed to a mechanic. The mechanic told me it was most likely caused by the recall. I had it towed to Ford in Crestview, FL. Ford said they are also pretty sure it was due to the recall. Ford Crestview told me it could take WEEKS to diagnose, and then I would have to have a whole new engine/parts in which Ford won’t have until 2025. My car will be sitting at Ford for MONTHS. Ford does not care. They don’t care I almost died. I now do not feel safe in this vehicle. I get married on the [XXX], and I have a honey moon after. I depend on this vehicle for my job, etc. i am my dads caretaker who has cancer, and we had to skip his doctor appointment because my car was not available. His WHEELCHAIR fits in my car. Ford won’t give me a loaner vehicle until they diagnose it, and Ford Crestview informed me that they don’t even know if they will have a loaner vehicle. So what happens now? Cancel the wedding? Cancel the honeymoon? Keep canceling my dads doctor appointments and he will just pass away? Please help expedite this. Why would the dealership even diagnose it, when they technically have until 2025 when parts come in. Ford is not handling this w

There has been multiple instances that the right-side brake light has failed, even after being replaced with new bulbs. It has happened 2 times before, and I have seen numerous other Ecosports that have this problem as well. It is not a bulb problem, but a wiring problem. Not sure if this is worth submitting on here, but I can’t be the only one that has done it so far.

The component that failed/is malfunctioning is the Drivers side front Hub assembly. It could be available for inspection depending on date and time that it is needed to be inspected… My safety and others were put at risk because if I kept driving with this it could snap my entire tire off, rip my whole brake line out, and this being my drivers side could result in my getting ripped into oncoming traffic.. No manufacture has inspected it, no police have inspected it, only my boyfriend and I and a mechanic that was going in to replace brakes on my car. The only determination I have of this part being “recalled” is due to an auto parts store calling and telling me the part they ordered has to be sent back due to defect/recall on the manufacturers side. There have been no type of warnings at all besides stuff regarding my anti-lock system failing

There has been no incident because we are afraid to drive the car due to the recalled part. The first letter regarding the recall stated the parts were anticipated 2nd quarter 2024. Now it's 1st quarter 2025. What are we supposed to do in the meantime? Drive it and wait to be stranded on the highway? And will Ford push off the fix again once 2025 comes? There has to be a better solution in the wait-time.

Receive a recall notice in Feb 2024. On March 30, 2024 vehicle oil light/engine light came on and started to engine noise. Because of the recall, it stated not to drive vehicle if this happens because it could cause an accident. Had vehicle tolled to Titusville Florida dealership on April 1, 2024. Was told that they were going to order parts, but available until 2nd quarter of 2024. Call Ford service customer Claim # CXH02216288. asked for a car to use while waiting for repairs. Dealership told me that I was approved for a rental, but after 4 weeks, I went into dealership to ask about rental and they told me they waiting for one the be available. I had to get other transportation. Received another notice from NHTSA that the parts would not be available until 1st quarter 2025. So I requested for Ford to do a buy out option on my vehicle and I was not approved for a buy out option. It's been almost 4 months at the Ford Service Dept. I request Ford to defer my payments because I will not a vehicle for may be 11 months. So I'm paying my monthly payments plus insurance on a vehicle that may never be repaired.

My engine blew up because of this faulty part. I have not had my vehicle since Oct. So, I was forced to go get a rental car because, I still needed transportation too and from work. I spent over $4,000. Since March on a rental car plus still payed $483. A month for my vehicle that was just sitting in my drive way. Ford just now took my vehicle in to check it and told me that it would need a whole engine. Ford finally gave me a loner vehicle so that I wouldn't have to keep paying for a rental car. I have contacted Ford corporations many time in hope to try and get reimbursement for the rental car that I paid for this whole time and they are telling me that there is nothing they can do about reimbursement for the rental car. I am very upset with Ford because it wasn't my fault that the engine had a faulty part in it. I believe they should have to reimburse me the money I paid out of my own pocket for the rental vehicle.

The pressure light came on and car started shaking and lost power. Called Ford to be told parts not available to call a dealership and they said they can’t do anything at this time or provide me with a loaner. And I have to literally have my car towed because I was stuck on the side of the highway. If this is a recall Ford or the dealership are not doing anything to help me.
Car had known recall and dealership was notified prior to this happening and I was advised that I was fine. Few months later, oil pump failed and seized engine while merging onto I40 with my 2 children in the backseat. Crash had almost happened but I was able to safely stop the vehicle and remove my kids from the smoking car. Small grass fire started under the car as the oil flooded from underneath my car but self estinguished. My car has been at the dealership for almost a month and they plan to put the same recalled part back into my car until remedy is available in November 2025. Front driver airbag also has a recall that it may not deploy if vehicle crashes which vehicle is already at risk for. There was no warning signs or symptoms.
On [XXX] @ 8:45 pm my vehicle was at a stop light. I started to go forward and hill assist start notification came up as vehicle turned back on from sitting idle due to the ecosport design. As slowly accelerating the wrench icon came on, check engine light came on. Vehicle lost power and speed dropped to less than 5 miles an hour. I had to floor the gas pedal to get enough speed to switch lanes and get off the road safely. I had to pay to have the vehicle towed to a dealership. This all occurs after the following previous events. On 6/25/24 my Vehicle was serviced for sporadic check engine lights that would come and go quickly. The dealership had some reprogramming done, an oil change, and a a transmission inspection. Stated all good and the vehicle was returned on Friday, June 28th. Back in April 2024 the vehicle had a similar situation with loss of power and similar warning lights. The engine was replaced due to total failure of the engine oil pump belt. This occurring when transitioning on a ramp from one highway to another. Another dangerous situation. This vehicle is not safe. I have been in the vehicle both times with [XXX] . Two major events in less than 3 months. I anticipate another total engine loss. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

NHTSA publishes every complaint as the owner wrote it and investigates only a fraction. Spelling, capitalisation and judgement are the filer’s own. What carries weight is repetition: the same component failing the same way across many filings, and whether the manufacturer eventually opened a recall for it.
